well my taxi has finally ticked over to 200000, still going strong! thinking i should do a timing belt & water pump replacement rather soonish if i want to keep it running half decent and get a service done while i'm at it is there anything else "major" that i should probably consider?

I've got a set of 8/6 (v1's) on a 4dr 33 as a daily car, they aren't that bone jaring (and I drive about 45-50 mins ea way to work and back) on some of the shittiest roads Brisbane has to offer .- sometimes have to dodge some of the larger bumps or potholes. I've got them adjusted to about 8 clicks off the softest setting

by the looks of the manual - you should have more than 4 bolts to undo however in saying that, I've never changed one over myself so i wouldnt be the best to comment. maybe these pics might help

I'm pretty sure it's just damper adjustable, they do a good job at option1, had my coilovers (v1's) installed there on my taxi

What Else Do I Try To Rid Brake Squeeling?
BstewyR33 replied to SargeRX8's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
if you havent tried - maybe an "on car" brake machine might help take some of the squeal out, I had that done after an off car machining of the rotors didnt do shite, every bit of braking squealed, bad brake shudder too. now, only the slightest squeal after a rainy day plus i put a shitload of brake pad grease on the back of the pad, and inbetween each of the metal plates behind. -
spotted a couple of r33's today - black (4dr) i think through back of chermside white r33 coupe through back of chermside and blackers driving down main st

big difference from stock suspension hey, i had some V1's installed set at about 8 from softest. havent lost traction yet (driving dry or wet) on some of the crappiest roads brisbane has to offer.

I thought they sent it somewhere, at least that's what my mobile mech did, I'd just leave it for the mech to do, then its done right first time with no f$&@ing about

Don't need to replace - just get re-sleeved you may have worn out the grommit inside the cylinder And I'd get a mechanic to do it for you

Hey all, changed over spark plugs today and when it came time to put all the pipes and whatnot back on, i split the shitty old pipe next to the oil fil point (the c shaped pipe) it was rock solid and brittle as hell when i put it back on, so i ended up running down to a enzed mobile rep's place and just got a generic hydraulic piece of hose - of similar diameter to fill in the gap. is that all good? or does it need to be something more specific? also, because the new pipe doesnt have the 2 90 degree bends in it, it sits out a bit more than that original (resting against the oil cap) will this be a problem? (ie. rubbing & eventually wearing through)? Cheers

just took a measure from my stock rotors laying around (r33 gtst) which was 27.5mm - now last time i took them in to a brake shop (before swapping them over) they said they were past legal limits. so at a guess 28mm would be the lowest
-
The minimum thickness "should" be stamped on the edge (that's where mine are on rda slotted) Try calling some brake shops to check with them - they might be able to help Prob won't help at the time but the road worthy will be able to tell if you've got enough meat left on your rotor
-
Super cheap sell a product called permatex ultra brake caliper lube - not sure if that what the guys are talking about, but I'll be trying that. My brakes squeal something cronic when reversing, it's a good wake up call in the mornings but f&@$ing annoying after a while Could also be that they are bendix...

Do You Warn Oncoming Drivers?
BstewyR33 replied to hamiltonau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
well say you're down a stretch of the road thats 200-300m long. if you see the car coming from the other direction flying along, then I should think one would have time to tell if he/she is speeding excessively or not. mind you this would be based on the fact that they havent been warned by other drivers. -

I do, but not if they are greatly over the speed limit. -

Hey all - not creating an add here - just giving you guys a heads up for those who don't sift through bargain emails & websites.... by the looks of it a guy (tempe tyres) in sydney is selling off a crap load of tyres with free shipping. seems to be a fair amount of Kumho tyres, some Bridgestones, some Hankooks, Goodyears, Pirelli's tyre sizes - 13-19inch available ill quickly post up a couple of the prices - cant link ebay from my work.. Kumho KU31's 17"- $120-$140 Kumho KU36's 17" - $ 175 might get yourself a bargain, might not, either way as I said, a heads up. Cheers
