I'd love to see a nice blower strapped to that 350. Cubes + forced induction = ultimate win.

Driving with ignition coil failure
krawler replied to skylinerocks's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Cant imagine an NA being boosted off its chops anyway I'd drive it with rooted coil packs, if it still accelerates smoothly at less than full throttle and you can move through the gears to keep up with traffic without hitting the RPM they fail at, I'd drive it. -
Depending on the type of commodore, it was more likely he had a CIG locker and it shattered and sent a few nice big chunks to lockup the works Locked up rear end = not fun. No commodore I know has enough handbrake left to lockup the wheels at any speed, let alone highway speeds (even during the M1 Fun Club times, which is like 40kph)

Little bit scared of people who use left foot braking in a manual.. What the hell is controlling the clutch? Or do you coast in "angel gear" (neautral)... Thats twice as dangerous as having +1 second reaction time IMHO.

Experience with Nengun performance?
krawler replied to RedEmblem's topic in General Automotive Discussion
We had to pay approximately $200 from memory, which still came in far below the cost of an Apexi GT Cooler locally bought. They sent a registered letter saying the cooler was there because it had additional tax owing on it. Nengun sent us a proper invoice that we took with us, paid the additional tax that was owing and brought it home. -
I left foot brake at certain times in an auto. Stalling up 3000rpm of full boost launching goodness for one. And warming the tires is another. Poor little dears get cold.

I disagree, think rising rate fuel regulators, which the majority of people tend to use somewhere in the modification flow chart

I saw LEZ82 today. Black 33. I was very dissapointed to find the car did not contain lesbians at all, let alone 82 of them.

Well dont I feel stupid. I just read that and went "WTF does he need two tapet cover gaskets for?" ... Damn this life of single over head cam, its ruining my brain. Dont suppose you get discounts on speeding fines do you? $150 retail, I wouldnt mind a reduction in that price

QuickTrack or similiar is about the best protection, as well as an alarm that meets AUS and International specs. Mongoose make about the only range in which every alarm meets those specs (3 stage immobilisation, all black wiring, internal relays only, etc) I think. Vipers upper spec stuff does, but not their cheap gear.

Agreeing to pick it up, and actually picking it up are two very different things

Experience with Nengun performance?
krawler replied to RedEmblem's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Definate thumbs up for Nengun. If I was an ebay weenie, I'd be saying stuff like "A++A+A+A+A+A++++ OMG BEST EVER!!!!! A+++++++++++" We've bought 3 seperate loads from Nengun of varying sizes and costs... Intercooler, AVCR + PowerFC, Coil Packs. The intercooler got stuck in customs due to size, but was retrieved easily enough (a trip out to the airport and voila). Everything Apexi (AVCR + PowerFC + Cooler) is in English both instructions and LCD readout, I cant imagine HKS being any different Highly recomend using them, or greenline.jp (no experience with them, but other forum members have) -
Tip on how to get MAD really easy
krawler replied to Neosaber's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Whups, the purpose of taking the wheel off in the first place is so you can run the thread repairer over the studs once you've bought it -

Take the wheel off and take a sample locknut with you to something like Trade Tools, Glenfords, whatever. Hopefully they can sell you a single thread repairer to suit that thread type. Err, and make sure the same wheel nut / lock nut isnt one of the fscked ones Better yet is if you can find a bolt with the same thread as the wheel stud, and take that with you. But they SHOULD be able to line up a thread repair with only the female part to match to. -

How many kilometres do you do in a year?
krawler replied to Ronin 09's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I do over 1000k a week (52,000k a year) in my work van. Add in another 200-300k on a weekend (average at 250 = 13,000k a year). So around 65,000k a year driving... Damn... No wonder I'm fat. -
I'm not sure that the eThuggery is going to help Damien get his money back.... mines_whatever_the_bloody_hell_it_is_now is just as likely to pack up his bat and ball and go home to have a sulk instead. Damien appears to be sending the part back COD which means mines_sjdfkjs will have to pay the money to get the part, so it looks like something positive will happen. Of course, Damien is still out of pocket for the COD charges (20 bucks I believe?), and has to trust mines_2131123 to actually pick it up....

Has it damaged the thread on the stud? Or actually borked the stud? If its just the thread, you can take the wheel back off and run a thread fix0r over the stud, either the thread repair kits or proper thread die/nut will do it for you. -
Sorry guys I had to (HSV tool)

Bah way to post a login-only readable link -
The only people I really see use l33tspeak seriously tend to be the most harmless weenies on the net. Or hanging out in #lebanon on IRC. The true "hackers" (as such) tend to write things quite intelligebly, with possibly the occasionaly "pwned" thrown in

Another amen for copper sparkplugs - change them every 10,000k (every second service) and you'll have consistantly good sparkplugs. Cheaper than platinums too, even assuming you make the platinums last the full 100,000k they claim to manage. Also just a note... BCPR6ES is the same plug used on RB30s, and Z145A is the same oil filter. Even the air filter is the same. "If it aint broke, dont fix it" I guess aye Nissan?

Interested once out of Surfers also. Dunno where the Pizza place is, but parking through that whole area is pretty limited, especially when trying to squeeze in 20 odd 'lines?

If I bought a Tarago but got given an Odyssey I'd be pretty damn chuffed. They are mofo' P.I.M.P Also, ripping people off is bad mmkay? Thats why I dont use Ebay. Its very hard to get a refund out of someone by eThuggery. Much easier to see them face to face, or quite possible "large blunt object" to face.

I got pipework done by RACE at Capalaba and was happy with the results.

I have had "some" experience with the M1 Fun Club Matt
