That's bad S*%&.... I'd remove the passengers side kick panel so when you park it you can pull the ECU out easily !! There is no way they'll get it going without one... But doing that might prevoke him into coming to get you to get the car going...... Other than that, pull a few critical fuses out of the engine bay or get yourself the biggest, badest, ugliest, Rottie that hasn't been feed for a week, and let him sleep in the garage.....

Man - talking in HP figures get's me all discombobulated.... What's that in KW ???

I've got one of those too. Thy seem pretty good for the $$$$. Just wondering how you go when using them, cause the lead to the probe isn't long enough to bring the display into the cabin.. Do you just leave it outside??? Also, when you mount it in, do you just wedge it under one of the pipes and crap it up tight??? I was always paranoid of doing it this way !! J

I remember reading about this a longtime ago. Apparently the lights are all LED's wired in series so they can take the 12v. The bad thing is if one stuffs up the whole lot won't light up (cause they are wired in series). Pull the light out of the spoiler and check each LED, when you find which one is stoofed just replace it. The hard part will be finding a replacement LED the same brightness as the others. Might be easier to replace them all so they all look the same. J

Man that sucks. Jealous people, that's all it is... :) Mcquires sells stuff called ScratchX or something like that. Apparently it's really good for taking scratches and swirl marks out of black paint. Either that or give the bonnet a good buff will a buffer. Failing that, find the little dweeb that did it and polish your bonnet with his face ..... J

I think that'd be a R620, not a K620. Fuzzy pic Here's a link to all the ECU types. You'll have to dump the URL into Babelfish to do the translations though http://www.grid.co.jp/prod/rom/map.htm http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr I 'think' they are listed in date order and order of manufacture?? And another link for other ECU's, with this one you'll have to jump between babelfish and normal cause it stuffs up the formating.... http://www.grid.co.jp/DAT/unitdat.txt I suppose we won't really know what's going on with the ECU's until we do a direct comparison on the same car J

I think we need definate clarification of the law. If we can get a contact (high up) in the RTA or the Government body that handles the RTA then we should write to them. ie. ask them in writing which law a pod filter breaks, which law a bleed valve breaks, what our rights are when we are pulled over and treated harshly with regard to incorrect defects, rights to reimbursement if it's found that there was no defect at all etc.... The way things are going in some States (we're luck here in ACT, the police are good), getting an engineers certificate will be common practice for simple mods, and even then it won't promise that you won't get a defect J

Yepp, and there's a black unmarked 2001 model WRX going around too. It has mega dark tinted windows. I saw him pull over a car that went through a red light at the Woden Hospital lights. The WRX had the normal red and blue flashing lights in the back window. You've really got to watch out these days, they're everywhere J

Do we need a Skyline Owners' "Book"?
Jay95R33 replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
LOL fu-ku..... I got the owners manual, service manaul, service history and a few other things with mine. Most the stuff is in japanesse and probably says something like "this car is crap and is going to blow up soon. I'm going to sell it to some stupid Australian bloke" :bonk: :bonk: -
MSN = [email protected] ICQ sucks

If your after those sort of times, I think the easiest way would be to sell the GTS-t and buy a R32 GTR. Instant 12's.. And 11's not too far away. J

YAY - someone see's what I'm trying to say...... :/ Well, when I get off my butt and take my car to a dyno I'll do a comparison cause I've got a 1993 and a 1995 ECU at home (I popped the tacho output on the 1995 , and got the 1993 to replace it). That way I can do a direct back to back dyno run on the same dyno 5 minutes appart. The 1993 ECU is MEC-R521 serial no., and the 1995 ECU is MEC-R523. Stay tuned

Benm - if you ever have a look at your ECU, let me know what the MEC number is on it. The MEC number is located on a black sticker on the lid and the back of the ECU covers, and also stamped on the CPU itself. It'll be something like MEC-R523 etc. The MEC number is the firmware version in the main CPU. It'll be interesting to see what you have. Unless you've got a chipped ECU, then that blows that idea out of the water J

Benm, I put a thermo fan on mine about 2 weeks ago. I picked up a second hand Davies Craig 16 inch fan for $150, and bought the thermo switch for $70. Couldn't use the standard fan shroud cause it sits too high, and had to do a very slight mod to the fan to get it too fit. It's a damn tight fit. The fan only JUST fit's height wise. Over all the engine rev's easier. I wouldn't say it has more power, but it does rev easier. I 'think' this is sort of the same effect you'd get if you had a light weight flywheel, but not as dramatic (light weight fly wheel would be heaps more effect on the revs). The temp does run a tad warmer now, but is very stable. Plus the car warms up HEAPS faster which is great for those cold mornings. A big plus is that the engine is soooooo much quieter now. The only down side I have noticed is when the fan is on it's damn loud. The 16 inch Davies Craig fan pumps out 2200 CFM of air which is heaps.. J
