1. i would have resembled zoidberg after a shirtless track walk.. also feeling the sunburn today
2. That was a great idea Steve, I'll try to drag don along next time. Had a lot of fun and to finish close to Eric's GTR is a good result for the humble FC. Thanks Eric for the run, and rerun when i changed back to normal wheels. Battling is way better on rubber with tread
3. id avoid microtech. i had one but then later learned there are many better options. My next ecu will be a haltech.
4. thanks for a good day out. Extra thanks to the officials for hanging around in the heat. Looked like a hard life sitting at the gate with a beer Now the anxious wait for pics and videos..
5. Did you buy a complete PC from them or did you just purchase a shopping list of parts? If its the latter i guess it makes it a bit greyer. Assuming you purchased a complete PC i wouldnt think you should have to pay a cent - it takes a few minutes to replace a PSU in most cases so not sure why you got charged that or a diagnostic fee. Then again there are plenty of dodgy operators out there.
6. I'd expect in the next week or so, remember we are doing this in our spare time. They're underway but its a manual process. From a quick skim over the sessions it looks like you'll be pretty close to Mal in the final points so taking the time to make sure the numbers are spot on is even more important.

8. entry form sent via email and payment made.
9. there is a link on evo oz to boost crusing but its mostly a few evos or static off track shots. http://www.boostcruising.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=776524 I'll link any photos on our forum here too. Waiting anxiously on a guy we had taking photos. Apparently he got a few with me popping some sizable exhaust flames - can't wait to see them
10. im suprised you killed the kumhos so quickly, we've got some guys that have used them for ages. Maybe its the soft compound that did it? Ben - definitely agree the dummy grid area needed work. I think we can do a better job at getting cars out faster next time (accidents & spills withstanding). The WRX club did the organisation on this one and this event was a bit of a benchmark for future ones. With the feedback we are getting we can throw ideas around and improve some of the things that didnt work so well. There wasn't duplicate groups, but white group was given a session with instructors outside the normal rotation, that was discussed at the drivers briefing. Next year there will be better communication in the lead up to the event as well, which should help as well.
11. sorry to hear it dnissi. Apparently at least 4 subarus had engines go, not sure how the evos faired and somehow I think the renew boys managed to not lose a single apex seal between us. Still trying to figure that one out. I went out in the white instruction group just when it started raining, ended up going backwards twice so that was interesting. Overall i think the weather stayed pretty decent though. Scott - maybe no prize for it but much credit How did you find the numbers once you got going on the track? If you have any feedback on what was good or could be improved please send me a pm. I'll be following up with the WRX guys in a few weeks, hopefully we can do it again next year with no SAU nats clashes. I'll work on the rd3 and total results this week. 12. what a day, weather turned out ok and EC was a lot of fun. Cant wait for some pics
13. competitors will be given a pit lane garage space and an allocated race #, i have the race # stickers here. Im happy for any SAU people to call me after 545 AM if they need advice. 0410313104. If you call between now and 5:45 expect jibberish. I expect to be in one of the end most mazda garages, Come find me if you need assistance. Edit: Scott - you've got a battery sticker as long as you come find me. Look for a black fc with kumho stickers on the doors. Love the red eye flight to track day commitment.
14. We have been fortunate enough to have a few sponsors get involved with this event. I've been speaking to each of them recently and couldn't have hoped to find guys more willing to support club level motorsport. If you're in the market for their services give them a call or drop by for a chat at the event. 15. Also: Please ask your members to ensure their cars are ready for scrutineering and are properly prepared for the event. This includes secure battery and terminals, blue triangle for battery, all forward facing glass is covered, a correctly mounted and appropriate fire extinguisher as per CAMS regulations. all brake lights working and so on. They must have their CAMS licenses (2LS or higher) and proof of membershop to a CAMS affiliated car club. Anyone late for the drivers briefing will not be allowed on track until they receive a full drivers briefing later when time allows. The drivers briefing is at 0830 at the base of the control tower unless advised otherwise. I have some battery triangle stickers if anyone gets stuck without one. Make sure you bring your l2s and club membership. I can take L2S applications and RENEW membership applications on the day if needed. Come and find me, I'll try to be there @ 7. And finally don't forget your helmet!
16. There may be changes during the day. See you there!
17. ive been told many times now that it is the full track. I am really hoping thats right, either way we'll find out in 2 days time.
18. Only one person mentioned rain on the evo forums. I reminded him that AWD cars have more grip but my RX7 is worth around a quarter of the cost of most evos. Same goes for most of the RWD 32 & 33s. Who do you think should be more scared of rain? Oh one other thing about the scoring for points - it will only be people with an existing connection to the event or SAU/RENEW that are in the point calculations. Should stop distortion of the figures.
19. I'm waiting on a couple of confirmations but I'll post up info on what time to arrive asap. Also there should be some official communication from the WRX guys soon. For scoring the championship the following will apply: If we have 3 timed sessions they are rd 1,2,3 If we have 4 then the 4th if not your slowest will replace your slowest from session 1, 2 or 3. For most people id imagine the 1st would be the slowest. If we have 5 we will count them as s1+s2 = rd 1, s3+s4 = rd2, s5 = rd 3 If we have 6 we will count them as s1+s2 = rd 1, s3+s4 = rd2, s5+6 = rd 3 It's most likely we will get 4 timed sessions. Given the uncertainty I thought it better to put something in writing so it is clear before the day.
20. Ok for the tyre rules - as far as the kumho lap battle goes yep the classes remain the same, so semis = club. I wouldnt worry too hard though unless you are at the top end of the points. If you've got semis go for it. We've got an exemption from the no slicks rule for the existing open class guys already running on them. Now we still need a few more Nissans. I can help you with getting an L2S on the day if you have a current club membership. I can sign you up to RENEW on the day as well if you need it or if you apply for SAU NSW early in the week I will validate your application with Eric. I'm really not trying to step on toes here with membership but I can't take SAU NSW club applications on the day.
21. do you even need to be in the car? surely the evo will be faster without an extra 70+ kg? If you guys have any nissan owning mates feel free to get them to enter. I can take sign ups on the day for anyone needing club membership and cams licenses.
22. There is still spots left. Looking over the entrants list there are a few GTRs including one new one, a bunch of silvias and a couple of 300/350s too. There's also 3 hondas on the list too, there might be a few more if the Nissan guys don't get some entries in.
23. 2 weeks to go people. I'm waiting on an updated entry list but there's still room for some of the late arrivals. Maybe not for much longer though.
24. Cumulative results posted. Sorry it's a few days after I said it would be. Plenty to do lately and never enough time.

Also the WRX club is close to opening this up to other clubs to ensure they fill numbers. I really thought there would be more SAU guys jumping on the chance to go to Eastern Creek. If you are holding off get those entries in soon before other clubs snap up the spare spots.
