I dont really know him just looking out for him - he seems like a good guy. Speaking vaugely about something is one thing but pics become a massive issue if insurance gets involved and if a bunch of people are posting them up it can have consequences The whole incident happened right in front of me and im still struggling to work out how he got it so wrong.

Unless you have spoken to the driver involved it's pretty poor form to post pics of an incident.

Had a great day out and cant wait for the next one. Did a 1:17.1 so thats ok,but still lots of room to improve. Bring on May! We'll look at class points shortly and let everyone know. Shell: I'm not sure if you have spoken to eric about a couple of those shots in your facebook link but if he isnt aware of them it's probably not a good idea to post them. Depends on how he is handling it i guess. Would be nice if old mate in the 300 offered to replace the fire extinguishers another bloke and I emptied under his bonnet. His car would have been in an even worse state without it.

I thought i recognised the username.. still got the f6's brian? I met you at tunehouse one day & followed the builds on xr6turbo. Martin a standard GTR might even be a step down from the fords he had in a straight line.

I'll still go out if it rains but to me wet track means more chances of someone going off which means lost track time and mud/crap being bought onto the track. Going by the current forecast if it does rain there wont be much.

that would probably be for compliance mods? If so id imagine most imports would have it. My RX7 has that too but has nothing that needs engineering and i doubt it ever has.

Brand New Ferrari 458 Gets Crushed By Ford Pickup
gregor replied to craig V8 taffe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
unlucky maybe but thats still his fault. If it happened here I know who'd be paying the excess. If he was patient like everyone else had to be he would still have a nice undamaged 458. -
fsport.com.au are a nsw velo distributor, maybe contact them to see what they have in stock for you to test if you are nsw based. I sat in a bunch of sparco seats at summernats and was surprised at how tight some of them were - i'm not a big framed guy - 5'11 size 34 but some of those seats were too small. Evo 2+ or 3 would be the go in that range.

dont stress too much on the forecast yet, it'll change 3-4 times before saturday gets here

Best Street Tyre For Your Buck
gregor replied to SLinky-A's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The best tyre for you will probably be different to the best tyre for others on here as well. No use you getting 'the best' if its a soft compound and will be dead in a few months because you do stacks of km's. You can spend a fortune on tyres but what good is that if you can't afford to drive the car? Maybe come up with a budget and ask for recommendations. I was happy with my federal ss595 for a good but affordable street tyre, and the ku31 on my rx7 seem ok as well. Pick a tyre that suits your budget and recognise its limitations - drive within those limitations and road conditions and you'll be fine. -
Windows Cant Detect A Hdd - Any Hope Of Recovering Data?
gregor replied to *LOACH*'s topic in PC & Games Discussion
A good outcome then, most of the recoveries I've attempted dont work at all if they run that long. For whoever said the hdd manufacturer should look at it - they wont. They'll replace it under warranty easily enough but the warranties state it's not their problem to recover data, and don't cover any loss as a result of disk failure. -
That might be a driver issue rather than a platform problem if your texi runs are any indication

So I'm looking into drift schools at the moment and I'm wondering if anyone else can shed some light on the subject. I know of Project D / Drift school but was wondering if there are any others. My main criteria are: - NSW based (Within 2 hours of Sydney give or take) - Proper instruction for beginners, i dont want to turn up to an open practice day and be dropped in the deep end I prefer to use their car(s) if it's offered, I doubt my car has the power to get a decent slide going. So any alternatives?

Blacktrack, Justin does good work (not sure about skylines specifically but he does everything) but it can be a bit hard to get in contact with him and there can be a wait to get work done. Best to drop by if you can - he is in Thornton.

Linearsport Dished Rims
gregor replied to Frosty's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
what sort of rubber is on them? and what suburb are you in? -
i think what he's saying is if any shop is letting something a bit dodgy through to save you some hassles then you shouldnt post their name on a public forum. OP would have been better off asking people to pm him.

Do New Cars Need Turbo Timers.
gregor replied to sLyLinE.32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i only just got a car with one but it will be handy at track days. I didnt like leaving the keys in my other car while coolling it down. -
Whats going on with the championship that was mentioned at the last texi? I'd like ot hear info on that. Also if there is going to be a proper competition you might need to be a bit stricter on which group is doing which course and not allow swapping mid session to be fair.

Fpv Tornado Or Holden Ss-v Redline Utes
gregor replied to macdog's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i think with cops you'll still get the same holden vs ford camps. I spoke to a few before I got my xr6t asking about their reliability (i figure cops will wreck them the fastest with KM and rough driving sometimes needed) and they all gave the ford the thumbs up. One had a VE and was spewing his BF xr6t got retired. Others will be holden fans through and through. And then you get the exceptions like the one that pulled over my mate to compare his 1J cressida to his own -
Fpv Tornado Or Holden Ss-v Redline Utes
gregor replied to macdog's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Your mate would be an exception to the norm then. As others have said up until 370ish rwkw a BF typhoon or the xr6t with the typhoon motor (Jun 06 onwards) are very reliable. The diff bush is a common issue and there aftermarket fixes around and a manual xr6t should have its clutch done if modded and at high power the ZF fluid should be flushed every now and again. The mods you listed - chip (hopefully you mean a flash tune) injectors and exhaust shouldnt make enough power to cause any real issues. Well unless his tuner has no idea, a good tuner will be able to adjust transmission pressures and tune the torque delivery so the box survives. A bad tuner will pull off those 'torque tags' in the tune and probably cause the dead ZF boxes. Either your mate and/or his tuner is an idiot if he's wrecked that many. That's not to say his tuner doesnt work well on other cars but he might not be up to date on the ford tuning scene. -
as these guys have said it would be hard to make a case. I've had a similar issue, but it would be an uphill fight. I'd try to be reasonable and see how far that gets you. Most mechanics dont want to be pricks about this sort of thing either. The thing i dont understand is why didnt the tuner or your mate suggest to drain the tank instead. Knowing the car is pinging at any level i wouldnt be out running through another 2-300 km to run the fuel down. Drain it and fill it up, may take an hour tops and everything gets done faster.
