  1. its been that way for years though and theres always someone wanting to trade up, I think a lot of it stems from people being tighter/more cautious on big purchases since the GFC. People are still spending less in general and it flows through to the car market in a lot of ways.
  2. Insurance for third party injury is your greenslip in NSW and it's mandatory or you cant renew the rego. Greenslip usually costs me about 500 and rego i believe is in the mid 200s, i just see it as a 700 odd dollar package as im sure most people do. On the original topic: IMO third party is a must have at minimum but comprehensive really pays off if someone else wrecks your car and has no insurance for whatever reason, or does a runner. Let your insurance chase up the at fault party and deal with repayments of $15 per pay packet while you get a new car.
  3. it isnt just skylines or even performance cars struggling to move, i think its that way across the board. My mate had his stock BA XT falcon on carsales at a competitive (low end of what its worth but non suspiciously cheap) price and got absolutely no interest even though it was in good nic. The other option which ive been doing with my turbo pulsar is consider swaps, if other people are having trouble they might consider it if you find the right person eg. P plater got done driving a turbo and wants to go NA, someone needs a 4 door, etc..
  4. Tell that to all the NSW members who have attended a texi day and had a great time.
  5. As tempting as some of the cars on my105 are most dont fit the criteria of being street rego'd like the OP said. If that wasnt an issue it wouldnt have to be NA. But definitely a way to save some coin
  6. the OP didnt mention what level or type of track use (from what i could see). Overall the mx5 is probably the best option but there's the question of whether you'd want it as your daily. On the plus side there's lots of support for them, plenty around that havent been in the hnads of 17 year olds and they have their own race series - something that is a big issue if he wants to go beyond the odd casual trackday. Some of the front wheel drive cars would do well but are out if he wants to get out on a skidpan or try drifting (in an NA?) so maybe we need more info.
  7. i know the tunehouse guys were disappointed with the weather, especially the impact it had on the xr6t's ability to get power down.
  8. This is a very good suggestion. For all you know the police might have searched the car for drugs heaps of times before in the hope of busting a known dealer and they'll just keep going. Get fresh plates - preferably ones that dont start with JET, SXY, LOW, etc... and see how you go.
  9. Well considering you never said what would be a swap of interest i think its a fair enough question and its not like i was suggesting a straight swap with no cash your way It looks like a tidy car, i think your price is a little optimistic but good luck with it anyway.
  10. if you're still thinking about swaps maybe you'd be interested in my turbo pulsar, its a 2000 model sedan with turbo conversion, engineered, long NSW rego, lots of cash spent and receipts to go with it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/00...sw-t333927.html PM or post in the thread if you're interested.
  11. if it is for sale and your thinking about swaps i might be willing to swap for my turbo pulsar sedan (2000 model, engineered, long rego, great street car), info here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/00...sw-t333927.html Pm or post there if interested.
  12. pics would be good. Would you consider swapping for a 2000 model turbo pulsar sedan - engineered, long nsw rego, 140kw. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/00...sw-t333927.html PM me or post in my thread if interested
  13. i reckon the last owner probably chucked it on, no big deal though. I'd suggest chucking the spoiler back on before going on carsales, the tape on the spoiler holes would turn some people off - it makes it look cheaper, maybe less cared for in my opinion. Also i'd get the stock rims or all 4 aftermarket rims on it. Stockies on the back screams burnouts.
  14. Cash only or swaps? If you'll consider swaps check out my pulsar sedan, it's turbo, engineered, long nsw rego, 2000 model etc.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/00...sw-t333927.html
  15. good luck with the sale, although im pretty sure they didnt put on different intercoolers when they started fitting the F6 bottom end. I've got a BF mk2 and its just got a normal xr6t cooler. Good luck with the sale, manuals were hard to find when i was looking so it'll probably get snapped up quickly.
  16. ok guys ive had a bit of a low ball offer but im considering it so for this week only i'll let it go for $8500. If you've been waiting for a price drop now's the time to speak up - PM or give me a call.
