  1. I duno about other r34's but mine is very smooth to drive around town, and if you want to hoon around like every other retard it does 0-40 in 1st gear pretty fast with great response. Custom stainless steel intake with pod and 2 1/4 inch exhaust with wide rear tires = pretty good power in low - mid range
  2. www.trademe.co.nz Avoid cars with lots of mods as i can guarantee if its a young guy hes thrashed the fk out of it (its what boy racers do over here, heaps of skids). We have import laws now, older cars are banned from being registered on our roads... that doesn't matter if its a race car tho or 20+ years old. you can also go to: www.autotrader.co.nz
  3. My car came factory with turbo spec brakes, so the difference is zilch.. apart from the 3inch to the muffler that you can see on skylines coz the ass is so high up.
  4. They have 5 finger discounts on Fridays, 10 fingers if you go early and get the early bird special.
  5. Do a search on the forum, there is a thread around somewhere that covers this, sides on, sides off, all off.
  6. Of course the autech will feel like it pulls harder, its lighter so its power seems bigger than it really is. Only way to settle it would to race them all side by side
  7. I've got the same thing but i got mine done professionally and had a small tube welded on for the hoses to slip onto and clamp on. When you have a full aftermarket exhaust this mod seems to make the car louder and with mine if you use half throttle and slowly squeeze the accelerator it sounds like a mini waste gate hahaha
  8. Holy f dude, how times have you brought up your "missus's n15 SSS pulsar" ?? I have seen you post that in almost every thread about buying cars or racing cars and in almost every N/A forum thread lol.... let us all bow down to the pulsar
  9. Double ended thread screw, go to repco or supercheap auto or any other car place, they should have them for no more than $1 each
  10. Silvias and skylines are very nice cars and are more modern than supras, interior wise supras look like old rust buckets but are probably faster performance wise. Instead of askin questions why don't you go test drive the cars rather than asking for people opinions... everyone will say different things about the cars and have very different opinions. And fyi modifying a non turbo car is a waste of money, just change the exhaust and wait til you can afford a spec R GTT or RZ????
  11. I haven't driven an "Autech" version either but even with a close ratio gearbox I could imagine it still not reving out as good as an Rb25. 1st gear my car pulls hard, unless you fark the launch up its feels a lot better off the mark than an S15 Then if its rolling start from 2nd i would smoke an s15 for sure, to me na s15's are only suited to windy road driving where your not slowing down too much for corners or having to blast it on long straights so your keeping the revs/speed up becuase as soon as you drop down into low rpm its like trying to get a fat kid to run uphill. Oh and if we are comparing a special version of silvia to a skyline we might as well use the special version of skyline, the "GT V" (LSD, Turbo suspension, Turbo size brakes, better re sale value as its pretty rare)
  12. Oh i don't know man!!!!, Ring 0800 NISSAN to double check, better be safe than sorry
  13. no no no no no no NO NO!!!!! There is a thread around here somewhere that has already discussed this, even with the side bits taken off, it is ugly
  14. Have you guys ever seen a drag race between an s15 and an r34? or are you just going off the whole power to weight ration idea?? I don't mean to flame but I have raced an s15 and holy shit guess what, its slow, i won. - Pod filter + exhaust, no hardcore mods done to both cars. now that may not mean I'm right but hey it happened. That power to weight ratio that you are talking about, now yes the s15 is about 200 ish KGs lighter (depending on drivers weight and sound system etc) but its a 2L, 4 cylinder engine... less torque less response... On paper the HP is similar and the weight difference certainly makes the S15 seem like the winner but the power in an s15 doesn't come out until your twisting its nuts at high RPM. (one car i drove didn't even seem to have power to be honest) Pod filter + exhaust, no hard core mods done to both cars
  15. Thats not a nismo wing, that ugly POS isn't even worthy of being in the same sentence as nismo. Its is part of the nissan "Altai" kit or however it is spelt.
  16. I think you will find our cars are shitier and over priced compared to what you can get in australia, I've been on a few aussie sites equivalent to our nz trademe site and have found almost all the cars are cheaper and look a lot better than what we have on offer here haha.
  17. Infinity Kappa perfect series is nice. Alpine is over priced, if i were you i would wait til one of the dealers has a sale or just go with another brand all together. Type R sub and amp is ok, its what i have and it does the job nicely and it only cost me $800 new. Speaker wise unless you get type x your wasting your money (on type R) because there are other brands out there that will produce the same sound for less.
  18. That site sucked anyway, that is why I'm here
  19. I'm from Hamilton and it is a boring wasteland in the middle of nowhere. aussie is way better than nz too.
  20. DON'T LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE THAT POSTED YES, THEY ARE DIRTY LIARS!!!!! GTT and GT are completely different cars, they obviously do not look the same!!! do not be fooled young grasshopper!!!!
  21. V-Spec II has a few more goodies and its virtually the same price as V-Spec. Also there are a few more limited addition models out there with various tweeks etc but i don't see the point if your putting aftermarket stuff in to replace it all. I reckon you will be happier with a GT-R, heaps more street cred and it just looks and feels better than a GTT
  22. Paying your premiums etc isn't going to fix your car if you damage it tho, 9 times out of ten the cost to fix your car if you have a small accident like wrecking a bumper is way cheaper than paying your excess to your insurer to fix it for you. So, you pay $1500/2000 a year for full comp (p plater rates/under 25) and you have an accident, you then have to pay another $1000 (depending on modifications that bump up your excess) to get your car fixed so unless you have a really bad accident or the car you hit is an over priced euro bean can then its not always going to be worth it. But like mad said, i would rather have full comp and be stress free when I'm driving my car.
  23. I would say an R34 GT-V just because i have one and i find it handles really well and has enough power to be reasonably quick down a straight bit of road as well as just corners. Already has the same brakes as a GT-T and same factory suspension plus LSD but i would recommend new springs at least to get rid of the 4x4 height haha. Toyota Altezza's seem to be popular over here in NZ, i've test driven a few and there pretty quick off the mark and feel like they might handle well. Over in England the Peugeot's are a popular choice too, small light and cheap
