  1. My 40th anniversary R33 GTST has the black plastic CAS but I think it was built in March 1997.
  2. Not a big fan of 'dubber' engine bays. I mean they look good but it's all smoke and mirrors with the wires and everything tucked out of view. Actually working on the car and troubleshooting would be a bitch and so for me it's the ultimate 'show' look. Real cars otoh are made to be USED.
  3. LOL, but even N/A's need their vacuum pressure monitoring right? BTW I think you're lying and have never seen that. Pics or not true.
  4. I'm thinking it has to do with brightly coloured hoses etc, whereas V8's etc prove their manhood with chrome and subdued colours?
  5. Someone said something about 'ricer engine bays' and I was wondering what exactly they are and how they are styled?
  6. What N/A V8 will give you 50% more power with just those mods?
  7. Well I've got one on order and it would be a bonus if this works (no reason to believe it doesn't). Pink must be an analogue input but I am not sure it's left free if you run the sensor adaptor also. Though having looked thsi picture of the wiring set-up it looks like the pink is still available even with the three external sensors = possible win.
  8. According to this link you spice the wideband in the pink wire on the infometer.
  9. Get some R33 GTR Brembos instead.
  10. I've modded and driven several S13's with RB26 conversions. (in Forza 3) They don't handle the extra weight that well IMHO and it upsets the balance of the car. Chassis is designed for a little motor.
  11. Has anyone hooked up a wideband to their infometer, and has anyone used the datalogger function? Does it just play back visually or can you download a text file or anything to PC?
  12. Maybe but I'd say they had more in common with the V8 scene than the import tuner scene (aside fromt he fact they are not imports )which is more into track/drift. They would make great drag cars but for all round 'performance' not so good.
  13. Well the WRX is now a family hatch, and the RX-8 is very meh compared to the RX-7. Turbo sports cars seem to have had their heydey in the 90's IMHO and now you tend to get heavier and less sporty NA's.
  14. Yes an GTR badges also fit on GTST's
  15. Ha ha why just Nissans though? The cars you refer to are luxo-sports cars. I like say the 350GT but it's no hooligans sports car and the V-series have thrashy drive trains. And the 350Z is nice but a bit ghey to be honest as well as being NA so harder to get moar power.
  16. I was thinking about this and it's not so simple, many cars now seem to be getting more heavy, complex, powerful from factory and consequently very expensive and hard to modify. Skylines are cars that kind of offer democratic hi-performance to the DIY modder and are not that expensive. I'd put the R35 into a totally different bracket to be honest. Where have the manual sports cars gone? Especially RWD like the GTST?
  17. I think I'll probably go Nistune unless a cheap power FC comes up. I've got a Greddy infometer so it would be useful to still be able to use the Consult port.
  18. Dodgy batch of fuel?
  19. Ah ok so Power FC has no safeguard then as such. Interesting. BTW what ECU's still allow the CONSULT port to work? Does Nistune? I think e-manage does etc and other piggybacks but they are not that great from what I hear except f-con gold which is proprietary and you can't tune it yourself?
  20. Is it only PowerFC and emanage that use the OEM knock sensors then? Does Link not use them (suspect not if Vipec doesn't)? I've been told that emanage is crap though and can drift.
  21. They are like hens teeth for the RB25DET though. What's the 2nd best alternative?
  22. Not really a fair test then if you're running knackered pads.
  23. What is your opinion is the best ECU if you are interested in tuning yourself or at least tweaking a tune? I was thinking the Link but otoh it's quite complex so maybe something older and more basic for a beginner? For an ECR33.
  24. Nistune is just 16x16 maps and no provision for individual cylinder trims though? Slow as well only 8 bits.
