  1. Yes the Top Secret S15 in Forza 3 is virtually unusable due to the peaky power delivery and lack of traction. I know it's just a game but generally it does a good job of simming real cars.
  2. That's quite a bold statement. I'll take the 6 over the 4 banger anyday thanks though. Don't get me wrong I like SIlvias as chuckable sports cars which are good for drift but they are no world beaters. The S15 platform isn't all that much different from the S13 one. It's not like you are comparing the R33 to some carbon monocoque FFS.
  3. So what is the definitive truth re 2 way diffs? Some say it is suicide on a street car, others that is fine? Is it more to do with how much lock you set it for? I wanted a 1.5 way but ATM only 1 or 2 ways are going 2nd hand where I live.
  4. Sure they have turbod piston engined fighters in WW2 like the P-47.
  5. It would mean that Nissan would have had to machine a special 'zaust cam for the S2 GTST to accept the black (Neo) CAS. Why the hell do that when they could just have used the normal CAS on the normal cam? I've never opened the head yet, it might have neo lifters for all I know. Not many cars had the black CAS.
  6. Shaft me sideways! If you want easy driving get a Auto FFS! I've got an Exedy twin plate with the lighter flywheel that came with it, it takes some skill to drive but it just revs so much more responsively with the lighter mass. The heavy fly wheels make cars feel like slugs in comparison.
  7. I was just reading about this and you have to change loads of stuff out including hubs. Basically might as well put a GTR sub frame in. I'll stay well away from this option.
  8. How do you deal with the tendency to plow on in corner entry then - I'm referring to driving style - you just got to chuck it about more? So you're saying that? 1.5 way = ghey 2.0 way = Charles Bronson?
  9. Thanks mate. Does it just drop straight into the diff housing?
  10. The 40th anniversary edition also has special badges on the outer B pillar and badges on the seats. I've also heard that Kozo Watanabe himself cast the special badges from the melted down samurai swords of ancient samurai warriors, and that each car was blessed by a Shinto Priest as it left the production line?
  11. Yes I have the black CAS on my 40th anniversary. I'm assuming this means that these late S2's must have the cams from the NEO engine then....or at least on the 'zaust side. Are they the same profile? I assume so but don't know?
  12. I'm after some advice. I want a better LSD than the factory viscous one because it is pants but I am not interested in getting it shimmed up. I was thinking about getting a used ALSD but it looks like a minefield of potential trouble. I can't afford a really expensive NISMO one etc. Are there any mechanical ones from other Nissans which can do the job so I can get a used one? What do you reckon? I don't want a 2.0 way, probably a 1.5 way.
  13. Like the car but why are the pipes sticking out a mile?
  14. A while ago I got a new twin plate put in with a Nismo slave cylinder - and it was as light as a figurative feather. Now about 1000 km later it feels like OEM (heavy) again. Anyone know why would this be?
  15. Virtually any motor needs to shift at red-line to make the fastest 1/4's. It's cos torque at the wheels = engine torque x gear ratio. Just do the maths and see. Unless your torque is dropping off massively at red-line then shifting to a longer gear (upshift) is invariably going to result in less torque at the wheels.
  16. Ah ok so it's integrated rather than the GTST one which screws in?
  17. Looking at the manual it doesn't show a proportioning valve on the GTR master cylinder just on the GTST/GTS ones.
  18. You need to de-solder the main chip on the Tacho PCB. Once it's off you remove a bit of the green 'solder resist' from the PCB where the chip's legs are soldered. You then solder the chip back on. This gives the chip better contact, and it fixed my problem anyway. There is a tutorial on www.Skylineowners.com but I can't be arsed finding it.
  19. How does the size of the master cylinder effect bias?
  20. They might confiscate it off you first. Then you wouldn't be able to re-cat it.
  21. I've got an alloy intake pipe & no mesh but my car runs fine mate. Not sure exactly what you are going on about.

  23. I'd probably take out the cluster and clean the connections first. The RPM is well known to f**k up. Most peeps but a new cluster but I fixed mine by desoldering and resoldering the chip on the PCB as per this link: Tacho Fix It could also have been pushed around 180 on the motor so you could try turning it back first. It should naturally rest at about the 7pm position (I think), then you push it clockwise over the 'stop' thingy to 0 rpm. The Speedo could be a few reasons but I'd check for any mechanical obstructions like maybe the needle got bent a bit or the fascia has bent up slightly. Otherwise get a new one from a breaker.
