  1. +1 on the sumitomo HTRs. had them on my S15. nice in wet and nicer in the dry! and thanks for that site Clikar23
  2. i think 1 person has due to a factory turbo malfunction. i dont think anyone else is game enough to even TRY to change the turbo because of its location
  3. wanna play that game huh?? i saw a silver ARX in andy65b's driveway. is it yours?? haha
  4. ahh is he there sometimes? then ive seen him too. possibly even today around the same time.
  5. wow very nice AXIS!! i like the R34 rims on it what did the exhaust work cost to have done??. it might be cheaper to get a whole system done instead of jap cat-back due to exchange rate silver looks awesome hey?
  6. ahh yes the FAST disc! hmm tonight. ill PM you andy! the turbos MAY be the same. if the block design etc is the same for all VQ engines (only bore and stoke may be different) then i rekon they might be similar in design and size (the turbos i mean)
  7. OK so ive found a turbo from a VQ30DET and i was wondering if it was the same or slightly larger than a VQ25DET turbo from my M35 for the price he is asking, its probably worth having on my shelf incase mine dies in the ass the one for sale has 4P2 on the compressor housing, along with nissan. he is certain this is from an VQ30DET, but id like to be sure before i buy it. can someone please look at FAST and tell me if they have the same part numbers? or any information regarding these turbos? vq30det.com didnt have much on the specs of the turbo. thanks guys!
  8. ahh shit seriously i think i missed you by 20 mins!! next week, when there is no friggen traffic ill get there on time lol turns out also i took the wrong exit from the freeway too. also next time ill know better
  9. so i got stuck in the lane cove road/ryde road carpark (some accident caused the road to be blocked) and got there after 8.30 sorry guys!! i cruised up the highway thinking id see you up there, but decided to head home.
  10. youre having your dyno day the same time we (silvia nsw) are having our dyno night id also be interested in a saturday/whenever meetup too!
  11. ahhh see i assumed that one was the TV/satnav one!! EDIT: Is this it? (Attached)
  12. no matter who says yes or no are you meeting anyway? ill come for the drive just to get out of the house!
  13. wow so im totally wrong? when i had the glovebox out there were 3 vertically mounted 'ECUs'. i just assumed the one in the bottom left in the kick panel was the engine ECU?? had a wire spliced for something going one above it - which i assumed to be the gearbox ecu. and finally the one actually mounted behind the glovebox was for the TV goodies.... so which ones which?? (sorry if that seemed rude i would really like to know)
  14. no problems! if you have a factory tv/sat nav. its the one behind the glovebox. so thats not the CPU youre after incase you see that instead
  15. if its the same as my M35, then its in the passengers kick panel.
  16. ill be there this week unless the car breaks down
  17. or just write a letter first saying that the officer in question 'may' have been mistaken. they may just waive the fine as you have done the right thing. taking it to court is risky no matter how far in the right you are.
  18. ok looks like our engines DONT have an ICV. sounds reasonable with drive-by-wire the computer would just adjust the throttle to compensate for load. anyway, did plugs today and cleaned my filthy throttle body. i have pictures if anyone wants me to post?? i remember reading somewhere that VQ25DET has 4 EGO sensors. looks like only 1, which is good news because thats cheaper than 4! unless there are 3 i couldnt find or are under the car. but there is only one heat coated set of wires running towards the back of the turbo. as for the drive-by-wire throttle sensor, my engine bay was filthy, so this may be the cause of my engine stutter at low RPM and light throttle. the plugs didnt help with that
  19. yup +1 for awesomeousness. did mine today along with new plugs and new pollen filter
  20. yourself? sway bars are a piece of piss. really!
  21. there are some nissan part numbers in the M35 thread. turns out they use a LFR6AP-9 but nissan supplied me with PLR6A-11 (apparently the same but 1.1mm gap - can be regapped) even after looking up THEIR part number and ordering that so tomorrow ill find out if they are the correct ones when i do the swap.
  22. id agree! its got good performance and creature comforts. and youre right, the aftermarket support of the M35 isnt as great as the C34. that said, the C34 HAS been around a lot longer. give it time and the M35 parts will come down in price. hopefully with the yen and when i have some cash
  23. thats because there is 60kg less weight in the back also, as there is no TPS on the throttle (i think) so it cant be cleaned, i wonder if the sensor that controls the foot throttle input (maybe TPS also??) needs cleaning also?? there is probably a sensor on the actual throttle body too (another TPS??) unless the stepper motor on that is programmed and doesnt require input because its assumed to be correct
  24. really? that would be MUCH appreciated, thanks!! if not for the part numbers, but the diagrams would make things much easier to disassemble and re-assemble. im happy to create a torrent for people here and host it at work. i mean on my personal internet at home... yes thats what i meant.
  25. ill bring tools to remove the plastic cover off the engine! ill also take some pics tomorrow while im doing it im TRYING to get a copy of nissan FAST for M35, the guy at the dealer had one yesterday but wouldnt part with it. i almost offered him money for their 'spare' disc, but today ill ask if i can make an offsite backup anyway, plugs at 80k huh?? mines got 90 now and i dont think they have been touched, i rekon thats half MY problem.
