    yup found it! hard to say if its got a chip on top. does it have the same model number as the factory one? ill have to dig up the factory ECU pic i took and see if its the same inside.......

    we need to see pics before we can determine if its a piggyback chip also they may not change the throttle restriction as their ignition mapping is more aggressive, or maybe they dont want to change it due to the weak ass gearboxes we all have and they dont want to be held responsible for any damage/reliability issues. it may not be that they CANT change it, it might be that they WONT.

    maybe its not locked. if andys one has epoxy all over the chip, that would be to stop people reading the map they have put in there, i mistakenly remembered it as a piggyback board. so its entirely possible its not locked. id go for it NOT being locked.

    haha thats what we have been trying to work out! so yes, it IS hard. but we know its not impossible. from memory andys IMPUL has a piggyback chip, or its been modified somehow.

    maybe it assumed it had been replaced, thus having to perform the idle air volume procedure.....

    could the throttle map take values and depend on the AFM input? if thats being modified by the emanage, the ECU may be thinking there isnt as much airflow and its safe to open the throttle further?

    yup it sure is possible! i have a Nismo ECU that is identical to both my stock ones internally. but the Nismo one has awesome installed on it dead links? no problems, i still have the pics at home i can throw up on the other forum

    if you run different diff ratio, youll get a different power reading it may appear more, but might be less haha
