Great day! Thanks to all organisers and volunteers. It rained in the morning and turned the skidpan into a pool, but mostly dried up by arvo so everyone was happy at some part of the day -

GREAT maps! Fun for all and love addition of extra sets of cones on the long wang. Agreed though the grid formation of cones for morning skidpan is going to be hell confusing -

Anyone know if it's on? Last I heard in December the government scrapped VicPol's proposal for double demerits during holidays.

This is the stuff the 2WD drivers are gonna have nightmares about:

Optically, fitting halogen globes into a HID headlamp and vice versa, is probably the worst thing to do to a headlamp's performance. So ironic that the ADR requires a car to effectively DOWNGRADE their headlights from HID to halogen to comply. Not only is the brightness less but the beam pattern would be destroyed too. How's that for road safety!

"‘‘You certainly hear a lot of hoons hooning their engines around,’’ he told radio 3AW." Do they mean "hoons" or hoons?

+1. My motto: Work to live, not live to work. No point earning 140K if you don't have time to enjoy life and the money. I settle for half that and have flexible work hours (to a degree) and time to see friends, family, rest, maintain numerous hobbies, and keep fit.

“We’ll be keeping an eye out for large convoys of motorists,” Sgt Rust said, “especially with recent hoon activity at Mt Donna Buang and the Reefton Spur.” If I'm not mistaken they are probably referring to the bogans who go to those large carparks on the way up to Mt Donna Buang in their beaten up Utes, Falcodores, and 4WD and do donuts. We saw a whole gang of them the last time we were there in November when it was snowing.

I wrote a letter and I had my fine reduced to a warning (no points deducted either). See the web page as linked above. You need to admit your fault, and refer to the fact that you have not had a fine or pardon within the last 3 years. When I was let off the 5kph fine I had not had a fine previously for over 5 years. The previous one was for 24kph over, and the one about a year before that was 11kph over.
