What about amount of oil ? A compression test would be the next thing I'd do to check rings

Kinda sounds like your cas is also dead which won't help things either mate

Have u had the car recently serviced ? Possibly to much oil getting forced pass the rings U could setup a tempoary drain into the dipstick if it is too bad? Also are the breathers on the can the same size as the rocker cover ? Possibly the can not having enough volume and pressurizing the sump cause it's not breathing as it should ? Have u tried taking of the can?

If the mechanic had it running shouldn he have picked on the noise of pistons hitting valves ? Might be tIme to look for a new mechanic mate .... And do what jez said above mate safest way

^^^^ some good ideas there r33 racer ... Even tho you bolted the main flange down did it still warp a lil??? did u have to get I machined flat at all or we're u good to go ? Do u u have pics mate ? The more and more I talk with u boys bout it the more I wanna DO IT :-)

Yeah would be interesting to see what sort of prices you have to pay to do it yourself ;-) And is there any reason ur using butt joins instead of beveled? Would get a nicer stronger weld with beveled But just curios not criticizing :-) All the best with it

Yeah I will google the gas lens as it might be wirth investing ... And I should have worded the last post better when night falls I seem to become quite illiterate :-) What I ment about the gas flow is I use that upto 200 amps haven't done to much tig above 200amps so was just saying what works for me lol but all good mate looking forward to pics when u finish the 26 plenums ... Also have u had much experience on exaust manifolds ? Or have u always just stuck with ally?

U can't really go wrong with the miller machines you actually get what u pay for lol Got any pics Ariel? And what are these gas lenses you speak off? If u don't mind me asking what do u run lower gas flow rate with the helium because it shields better ? On around 200 amps I run bout 8-10 lpm wit pure Argon and seems ok but really curious bout helium still lol
