  1. haha yaanch very true, wouldnt mind buying a bunky car and not having to worry about warming it up and down n shit, or being very careful not to leave marks on the interior/exterior etc... one day..
  2. far out it was like that movie day after tomorrow lol. one minute its just a bit overcast, then these massive demonic grey clouds zoom over and decimate all of humanity.
  3. these looks sick! I want some!
  4. Thanks for the reply, i guess if the shafts/turbines are made of steel, they will last alot longer and withstand a bit more flogging? very interested for when my turbo decides to pack up. just really wouldnt be able to afford one of the proper garret ones i dont think.
  5. hi, im curious as to how much it would cost to get one of these done, and what sort of gains/loss will i get? something along the lines of bigger power figures in the top end, but slightly more turbo lag? thanks.
  6. thanks for the input spynic, will be sure to be on top of the oil level.. i heard it can also be caused by running lean?
  7. Hi, im curious as to how and why the piston rings have gone? ive heard its from overheating or something? Would be good to know so i can maybe avoid this problem in the future. Thanks.
  8. 3.5L magna? fords 4.0L or holdens 3.8L would smoke the magna, personal experience to back it up sadly haha
  9. one quick 200sx!
  10. +1 for MLCrisis. very true, in the end its what you want and what suits you the best. Worst case, you buy something that you dont like because a few people said so.
  11. And what is that torpedo shark doing there.
  12. If he wants bang for buck, go the R33 GTS-t, yes theres a few of them on the roads nowdays but who cares the thing is an awsome car. If he has a bit of money to play with and has no missus ($25,000 - $30,000), buy an R32 GTR, drop an R33 GTR RB26/Gear Box/Diff etc... But will still need to keep a bit of money in the bank for future problems. (20 yr old car) call me dumb but i dont get the boat joke haha.
  13. get some mates, put it in neutral, handbrake down and push that thing to the mechanics dude, would not risk it. ... on a side note, if anyone would know approximately what rpm the turbine will spin at 3000? or is it a how long is a piece of string deal? apparently they do up to something like 100,000 - 150,000 rpm at full boost? maybe possible to drive really slowly in 4th/5th gear, without hitting boost or something?
  14. I hear theres proper hardcore action in some of the cut scenes, interacial and all sorts.
  15. imo, they can take as long as they want, i mean we all know its gonna be nuts who takes 6 years to make a bloody car sim game. love making 9 sec cars out of shit boxes
  16. Hi guys, can anyone help me, can literally anyone rock up and compete? - my car got dyno'd pulling a shitty 200rwhp lol. managed to get tomorrow off, and keen to see what my car can do, more importantly some other, far quicker cars can do. also just to make sure, the entries are at 12:00, qualifying at 2:00, does that mean 2 hours of practice runs and twiddling thumbs? do i need long pants, long sleeve shirt, enclosed shoes, helmet? as you can tell ive never done this before. Thanks, Luke.
  17. Damn work. I dont suppose they let you do some runs if your a few hours late? oh and thanks for clearing that up kleicl.
  18. Hi, do you need a CAMS license, fire extinguisher, etc?
  19. Hahaha yes the multiple bogans in the VN/VP automatic commodores, putting it into neutral, reving it, then making a go for it, but the look on their faces as the note of an rb25det at full boost shooting past - back on topic i cant say ive been done yet by the police, trust me ive tried but the policemen in the joondalup/wanneroo area are pretty fair, civilized people. 2 times ive been let go, for opening the taps a little (yes, skylines have bladders and need to be regularly drained). You must have just had an officer on his bad day, they do have it tough not only dealing with skyline/import drivers, but with all the other crazy shit out there they have to deal with these days.
  20. Hey guys, Toshi here can remap R33 GTST ECU's and will discount $50 per remap if i can get one more person to buy one. Anyone interested? Has some good feedback and seems like a genuine fellow.
  21. Hi and thanks for replying guys, i couldnt get my scanner to work so heres a pretty accurate and sad painting i did of the dyno sheet, this was dyno'd on a 40 degree day at about 4 o'clock, if that matters. Ok sorry i must have missed some of the threads on here, i didnt know the 33 ECU's could be remapped over here yet. so what would be the deal with getting mine done? do i have to send my ECU away, or can the car be put on a dyno? I live in northern Perth btw. Thanks.
  22. Hi guys, i bought my 33 a few months back now and its lovely to drive, still puts a smile on my face and stuff, however i cant get over how much fuel it goes through. its a little scary actually, can go through about 1/4 tank from a couple hours "spirited" drive. Now from a bit of research i understand its running rich because of the turbo-back exhaust and pod filter, and that getting some sort of aftermarket ECU and tune will solve the problem, the thing is ive rung around a bit and been getting an average price of $1700 for an ECU + tune. (Nistune/PowerFC) From my understanding it would be alot cheaper to get the stock ECU tuned, though it isnt possible with the R33 ECU's yet? Ive heard of people in america and the UK unlocking the R33 ECU and being able to use it and tune it properly. im not sure if this is a load of crap or not but i would rather wait a bit for this stuff to come to oz than fork out a months pay for a new ECU. Share your thoughts if you want, thanks.
  23. wow hopefully the dickhead learns his lesson, could have ended up a whole lot worse, funerals and all.
  24. Hi, ive just started to hear a whistling sound, or almost a really high pitched ZZZZZZZZZ noise coming from somewhere though not that loud.. yet, hopefully one of the turbo gaskets/manifold joins or something simple. Anyway i was interested, when you say you got it rebuilt, did you get your stock turbo "highflowed"? if so what is the deal, do they replace it with steel turbines and was it expensive? cheers.
  25. I was thinking of getting some also, my front calipers are honestly about 1-2mm away from touching the spokes, should there normally be more clearance? is there anything to worry about? im scared ill take a corner a tad fast one day and shred my precious calipers and rims. have got 225's front and back. Plus, are there any downsides with wheel spacers, apart from being illegal and "ricey"? - heard stories of driving to work and wheels coming off.. Sorry for all the questions.
