It does look pretty awesome, but the extra piping will probably cause delay in the air being rushed into the intake manifold.

My car has been completely modified except the major engine internals. The guy I bought it from said it was making 240atw at 14psi. Toshi, who will be tuning my car again because the fuel pump has been upgraded, said he can bring the car to a steady 16psi and that should make 250 - 260rwkw. My car is all controlled with the PFC.

Originally had a K&N oiled panel filter. Ripped out the old air box, fitted in a pod and made my own shield out of perspex. My old man recons I could be choking the car using the box as the car has to suck air from all other little nooks. I was checking out a forum and some guy said he has one of these in his car. They look pretty awesome. They shield off the pod and leave you with an induction pipe to tunnel around where ever you like. Does anyone have one or recommend them? My car makes 240rwkw if that makes any difference. A guy who sells them has them for $219 delivered to your door. He told me the best place to mount the pipe is down below the foglights and I asked if water would get into my engine. He said as long as the pod is above the intake of the induction pipe, water will always play by the law of physics and it won't go up the pipe. I want this thing if it can provide more benefit than a standard pod. Cheers!

Hey all, Just wondering if I buy a rear camber kit for my R33, will it improve traction in the dry/wet? What is a suitable negative camber adjustment? Are they easy to install? Ive got aftermarket springs and shocks, would that have any effect on installation? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You Know You Drive A Skyline When .. ... .
SargeRX8 replied to SAGTS-4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I can relate to quite alot of these. This thread is a great read haha. You know you drive a skyline when everytime you hit full boost with passengers, you hear someone whisper "f**k" -
Shop down the road from me quoted me $440 to fit the M80G into my R33. They are really good, they have done all my past cars. Soundmaster in Granville.

Keep An Eye Out Before You Try And Race This One-
SargeRX8 replied to Yeedogga's topic in New South Wales
See this is what pisses me off. These cops can go around pretending to be P platers, egging on other people to race them, and we get f**ked for it. I was in my mates torana and two approx 27 - 32 yo drivers pull up in a commodore while were out driving around Parramatta. At the lights they are full shit talking about how their car will tear us up and how bad we should go them. We just drove casually as they floored it. Two minutes down the street you see the same car pulled over an s14. Is that fair? I consider this entrapment. They actually went too far when they were egging us on. Oh and this ROYAN1 car always comes past my place. He fills up petrol at caltex on woodville road opposite mcdonalds He was too obvious, you can see all this gear inside the car. To be honest I don't feel theres anything wrong with giving it off the lights. The use of common sense and you should be fine. My mates give it to the speed limit. Theres no point dragging it on. Punch first gear, maybe abit in second then back off. Simple. -
Skyline Drivers Losers?
SargeRX8 replied to nickandsarah_83's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ive given the old flick of the head knod. The only bad thing about the skyline is the attention you get when you drive past people filled areas. Ive been asked to do a burnout, then abused verbally because I just rolled away. -
Considering your car is standard, it wouldn't really break traction unless you dropped the clutch really quickly. Launch nicely and it should take off well. Camber can help give abit more traction. Your best option would be semi slicks but you don't want that. Its also your cheapest option. Get some Khumo ku36 tires. I know a few people with 5x20kg cement bags in their boot to get more weight on the end. They don't lose much power but they do gain alot more traction. My 240rwkw will never stay straight on high boost, I like it. I'm getting front and rear strut bars soon. That should help the car sit more flat and hopefully a little more traction. Next ill be putting the ku36 tires, I currently have the ku31's

Hey all, Well I don't know what the cause is but there is water in the driver footwell. The has been some heavy rain the past 3 - 5 days BUT Ive also used the AC ALOT because I can't open the windows during the rain. Today isn't raining so I'm going to sus out water getting in from the outside. I noticed the plastic guard which runs along the bottom of the window isnt sitting flat against the window, its popped up. If water goes under there, will it get into the cabin? Where is the AC drip line located? Any advice would be great! Cars a 1996 r33.

I just bought my R33 GTS-T and its fairly awesome. I'm going to have the fluids changed but the mechanic might use some cheap oil. Anyone recommend anything which will help prolong engine life and performance? Also, I'm currently running stock air box with a dirty K&N and want to change the filter but instead of changing the filter, should I buy a pod and box it off? Are there any shops which sell enclosures and cold air intake kits for R33's? I feel the intake system could be a little restrictive as the box has been cut into from the top to make room for the intercooler piping and at the top front of the box for more air intake. This will draw in alot of warm air from the engine bay. I need to get it tuned as it is running quite rich at the moment. Producing 240rwkw and with a tune and 16psi it could make 260rwkw. Any info is much appreciated!

Wow f**king useless RTA.

Hey Will an RTA History Check on a Skyline show how many kilometres the car was imported with? If not, how can I find out how many km's the car had upon arriving into Australia and how many km's at each registration period? Sussing out a skyline with very low km's(approx 5000km every year). Cheers.

How does one look at the Japanese history of the vehicle and its origins?

Hey all, Well I don't know the proper name for this part of the car but its the front where the suspension mounts to the body, the surrounding. Its got rust and its not surface. The seals which cover the joints are cracking and popping from the rust but there must be an underlying problem. I don't really know how to explain this too well I hope the pics do justice. Basically wondering how much it would cost to get this fixed and if its a major problem? Both tyres are VERY bold on the inside indicating the wheels are badly aligned due to this problem. Pics below! Strut tower! Thats what it is. As you can see from some of the pics, it looks like just the top cover panel which probably isnt important but still needs to be cleaned. The main concerns are the 4th and 5th pictures. The rust is towards the bottom of the tower. Could this be the cause of the wheels going bald on the inside or could that just be due to the 18" and a slight camber?

I got quoted $450 for timing belt plus tensioners and idlers fitted. $120 for engine oil suitable for the car. But the guy said the major service includes all oils, oils in gear box, diff, coolant, new spark plugs, ultrasonic cleaning of fuel injectors, brakes for $1800. I got scared. Gearbox oil, spark plugs I can do my self. Is cleaning the fuel injectors necessary? What about oil in the diff or some shit? I probably will just get them to do the belt and engine oil.

Hey all, Just need some info to help me out. 1996 R33 GTST due in for the 100000km major service. Located in Sydney and wondering if anyone knows any decent reputable mechanics who will do the service. How much should I be expecting to pay? I was planning on taking it to Dynamic Motorsports. Whats involved in the service? Is it a lengthy process? Would most mechanics have the consumable/replaceable parts in stock? Any relevant info would be great! Cheers guys.

That's not a good comparison lol. Some people prefer the sound of a big block. Some prefer the spooling turbo. Some like blow off valves. Some like big exhausts, silent exhausts or what ever. Regardless everyone has their own taste and what people need to remember is the road is there for EVERYONE. Your car is YOUR OWN. If you don't have a BOV on your skyline, no one is gonna go oh your car is shit coz you dont have a BOV. What gives you the right to talk shit about people who have one and like the sound? If someone came up to me and said oh you're a top bloke you got a BOV, id give him one. I get what I want on my car for my self, not to please anyone else. Its for me to enjoy. I don't understand why people have to hear a BOV and get the shits. I hate the sound of car boots rattling from bass but I don't care if someone else's boot rattles when I'm waiting in traffic. I'm not going to insist he gets some sound dampening or anything.
-
lol, thats not entirely true. There are many people out there who like hearing the sounds of the engine. My mates stock evo has a stock bov which is pretty audible and sounds amazing when it releases pressure. he doesn't hoon either. There is no logical reason that a BOV cannot be legalized. Don't anyone give me tripe about noise levels. All it is is compressed air recirculated into atmosphere so it has nothing to do with pollution.

Hey all, Well I went to check out a Skyline not too long ago. This is probably the best car Ive seen so far. I'm rapt that I found a car looking as good and sounding as clean as this one. There was one problem which I saw and it was the only problem. When the car is off, the boost gauge is stuck at 0 or just a tiny bit above. When boosting, it does not move and when idling it does not move. No matter how much boost or vaccuum, it does not change. I don't know what to think. Is the problem on the cluster end or at the boost sensor? Could the guy have attempted to tamper with the km's on the car and forgot to put something back? Is it an easy fix? I really like this car and I'm going back for another look, I just want to see if anyone has seen this before! Cheers
