yea Sounds like the RCA outputs amp chip got hot and went into thermal runaway (basicly got to hot to work properly), this is NOT a PREMINENT condition, although could be indicative of a poor op-amp design if its back to normal now, I wouldn't worry bout it, but a windscreen shade is probably a good idea while car audio gear is made for 'harsh enviroments', it's not always made for an 'Aussie Harsh Enviroment' Cheers Bundy

preety sure that:- The 6th letter of your model no signifies Vspec or not V = Normal GTR W= GTR Vspec/VspecII If the 16 th digit is an "I" then youve got an N1 note: the number you supplied is the 'VIN' number. The 'Model" number is on both compliance plates( along with most info FAST will supply + more) Cheers Bundy

Sorry Mate Mine won't accept that VIN (SOMETIMES happent with FAST) If no one else's works then you best bet is to decode the model number or look at the options fitted to 34 Vspecs n compare yours Easiest way to tell if its a VSpec is the $$$. if its cheap(ish) then probably not cheers Bundy

Sydking couple of Q's to clear thing up What Brand/Model deck and amp have you got? are all the speakers running off the amp. Or some on the amp, some on the deck (which ones scream) Was the sound 'Like' a siren or an actual siren (some Decks have alarms in them) Does it scream with the key on and the deck off? does changing Volume or changing source(CD, Radio) have any effect and did it come good/change after it cooled down? If your confident get a multimeter and check the voltage on the amp (Batt and Remote) I know its a bit of a list, but the more info the better. So far I'd say given the heat, youve got a dried out Cap in the deck or amp but need more info B4 I send you back to the shop cheers Bundy

OK I've had Very Similar issues in an old N13 Pulsar, Dash is sweet for a while then everything starts going crazy and dies. Turned out the 8Volt Voltage Regulator in the instrument cluster was on the way out. It's used as a reference for all the guages, so when the output wanders all the guages are affected. simply soldered a new "7808" from Dick 'head' Smith and bingo, we had speedo,tacho,temp the lot. There things are temp sensitive so the heat of the lights seems to be the last straw. Hope this helps someone Cheers Bundy

SydKing Alt Wine is usually a dodgy Earth, try running the earth on the back of the radio down to the Floor pan, Some of the steel bits in dashes aren't always grounded well otherwise it'l be the feed from the batt to the Deck cheers

Spotted a White S2 33 following me from orimbah towards Gosy bout 9AM, few cars back but spotted another S2 33 at Westfield Tugg (center exit) couple a days ago, can't remember color(White I think), got a wave... anyone here?
