  1. Sim If your after a top job it'd have to be Chris @ http://www.audioexpress.com.au/. brilliant with stezaz, & knows skylines check out his 32. Speaks 4 itsself! Bundy
  2. Chris, Whats the best way to find out about Mines. My 33 has a Mines ECU and I wouldn't mind finding out what the motors supposed to be runn' Cheers Leith
  3. at the back of the headunit (easiest spot) but not into the deck so pull the blue/white from the deck and hook (via fuse) to the Acc line
  4. only other thing I can thing of is maybe there's a setting in the deck that turns the onboard amp off when an external amp is senced on theat blue/white line A temporary fix would be to hook the amp's remote line to the Accessories line for now ( put in a small fuseholder/fuse, say 1A, inline )
  5. Troy another possibility (it's a bit out there), could the voice coil be rubbing on the housing (Distorted basket from the bushbash'n), creating a partial short ( reduced volume) and overloading the amp (total sound loss) Peter Try bushing the sub cone in gently (spreat ya finger tips around the centre of the sub) does it float gently, or can you feel a scratchy sensastion
  6. hmm, bit different So are you putting a new system in or is it an existing system thats playing up? What model Amp? cause it sounds like somethings seriously cross wired, assuming you put the blue/white wire in the right spot Sounds like it might be worth getting a pro to look at it rather than risk damaging anything!
  7. Glad 2 help, don't think its been said but check the earth from the altern8tr, might need upgrading! unfortunalty true, like they say : want it done right ya gota do it yaself & don't take ya eye of the ball! Cheers all Bundy
  8. Yea makes sence, runn'n from the front I tucked mide right next to the LHS of the tranny tunnel, then up and across to the RHS of the hump in the seat ( so it zigzagz) then back to a small notch in the removable part of the rear filewall, being down in the corners seems to keep the wires away from rubbing, stray feet and no lumps in the carpet. I always tape em down to keep em still(probably helps with rubbing 2) mostly want'd to make sure there's no specific probs with the 33'z 4 the record I think down the sides is best and def. easier, but hey I've run em through the roof when required or outside the car for testing( love MSD !!) & yes Everyone handles their wires different, which I think makes a difference
  9. mostly It's not where you run your cables but what you run them with ( I picked the middle 4 Dave cause his pics showed nothn there) I am curious what probs people had with cables down the middle, is it a 33 thing? I got all my carpc cables (7-8 of em)down the middle with minor mods to the rear firewall, mainly cause PC are bad 4 interference so I want to keep them away from everything else Ive had no rubbing or pulling from the seat
  10. Hopefully there's only one spot on the plug it can go, you'll just have to find a way to stop it falling out again if theres more than one spot it can go you'l have to find out which one first, maybe someone with a similar model could post a pic of the plug 4 ya or duck into your local car audio shop cheers bundy
  11. what's the blue/white one conected to? it hasn't pulled out of the decks plug? cause page 8 of the man says #17 Blue/White - Amp / Power Ant
  12. Hi Guys A sujestion for the Rep system. Somewhere off peoples profile page or their posts, you could have a summary of the posts that were awarded Rep points +'ve & -'ve (bit like ebay), that way we can see if the Rep is earned or not, call it 'The best & worst of' page Keep up the good work Bundy
  13. Simon The remote line 4 the AMP should be blue with a white trace(this will turn the amp on) The manaul is Here, {thumbs down to Pioneer AU 4 not havn a copy} Bundy
  14. Chris Front and rear speakers should be set to HPF any subs set to LPF Firstly recheck your work ( some cheap elecy tapes peel off, Wires rubbing on an edge) Sounds like a shorted speaker or maybe a ground loop. If not you should still able to be fault find. 1. Unplug the RCA's to the AMP and then turn back on, does the tone contunue?, does the Protection light come on? If neither, the problems probably in the RCA's (loosing ground) or maybe the Deck. Check indash wiring and Voltage to the Deck 2. Remove the Speaker wires from the AMP and turn back on, If the Protection light and the tone continue check the voltage at the AMP, otherwise the AMP may be toast 3. Test the Speakers, grab an old 9V ( 3/4 flat ones are best), stick it on each speakers wires in turn, you should get a crackle/pop out of the speaker if its OK PS. Do you remember which wires you resoldered? (Amp to Speaker?) Cheers Bundy
