  1. Yeah good meeting, good turn out. Congrats to all award winners and competitors this year. Thanks heaps for taking those shots Sarah, it will help me in showing sponsors value. Which will mean we can have big trophies next year too. We owe you!
  2. I'll be there to present the motorsport trophies for the year. Cya there.
  3. I second the motion for moving the event to a non F1 date.
  4. hehe - Bear with us for a week or so. The calendar is in final design stage. Once we have it printed we'll let everyone know.
  5. Yeah I think that's what they might have used at Kamikaze.
  6. My car used to do the same thing when I first got it. I got Kamikaze Motors - Nunawadding to seal mine up. Hasn't leaked since. They have some crazy 2-part putty stuff, works great. Also they are a club sponsor.
  7. Wont be announced till our track day calendar is filled and we have proposed dates for the track championship. But it will be after Feb09.
  8. So who here has already paid? Anyone from SAU entering?
  9. If anyone can't get the results email me at motorsport at sauvic.com.au and I will email you the .xls file
  10. Results are 80% done. Will finish them off tonight and post up.
  11. FYI - Ken Block is the owner of DC Shoes. He cares not for WRX rear ends and has plenty of spare cash to buy another WRX if he smashed this one to pieces. Which he has done with a few WRX's in dirt rallies. Some awesome skills there! (i'm slightly inspired to pull out some stops at DECA and see what happens)
  12. Thanks Wayne. Cya up there. We might end up a little short, so if anyone can help out come see me straight after driver briefing and we'll be able to get the day moving.
  13. Proposed running order for Saturday Please let me know today if anyone wants to be in the same group as someone else. 14. Dave I understand you don't want to drill holes in your new car, and we don't expect you to, but your going to need to come up with something slightly more creative than cable ties. Sorry. It needs to be securly fastened to the car somewhere..... Can I suggest that you look around inside your car for somewhere there is an existing bolt. Such as seat rail, seat belt anchor point, centre console mount mounts, just something that you can remove and existing bolt, then replace the bolt back in it's spot with the extinguisher bracket in between. You may need some oversized washers to get this done, or you may need to drill a slightly bigger hole in the fire extinguisher bracket. The way a lot of us do it in the GTR's is to remove the bolt where the rear lower seat mounts to the body of the car, and put the bracket between this bolt and the body. If you imagine you were a rear passenger this bolt would be touching your calf muscle. (back of your lower leg) See if the taxi has something like that. Good luck.
  15. Yeah go ahead. He'll look after you. I don't mind any Vic club members doing that.
  16. Nah what I said will only apply to Ringwood store. Just go to any bike shop and they will be able to fit you up. Just thought if you were close to Ringworm I could get you a better price. Ebay might be the way to go, but probably too late to be ordering off ebay, as you don't want it to arrive on monday next week, and miss out.
  17. If your anywhere near Ringwood go see my brother. He works the store / retail at A1 in Ringwood. Ask for Thomo and tell him your SAU and coming up to DECA, he'll look after you as much as he can with the price too. 18. Nice. Can you get me a higher resolution version of this shot? Also i'd like the last two pics of the rear with light illuminated. I need higher res thou. If you can get them please email to [email protected] Cheers, Chris.
  19. Rod - Can you please send/fax me an entry form to secure a reserve spot? I think we already have some people pulling out, just waiting for confirmation.
  20. The one bolt setup your describing is the same way most of the motorsport guys do it, and have done at CAMS L2S events for 4+ years. This is how my car / snowys car runs at Dutton Rally with two extinguishers (one each side). Basically if a scrutineer can grab the fire extinguisher and give it a shake and it doesn't move, you pass! So one bolt can do this and get you a pass, but what ryan is saying is correct, we all 'should' mount them better, and if a scrutineer does take a closer look then they would probably be within their right to knock you back. Bottom line is you will be fine for DECA and most of the time you will pass L2S sprint days. Just make sure that I can come along and see a metal bracket fire extinguisher mounted securely enough that I can't shake it loose (move the bracket). This is what I advise my scrutineers to check for. Ryan - They are talking about the rear seat foot well (rear seat mounting point) not the front seat, so seat rails aren't an issue. If we were all to rock up to a C3 race meet with this mounting system, I imagine we would all be going home early thou.
