  1. Look forward to hearing a report of the track
  2. It's just sad to see it go; the tree hugging hippies that is the majority of NSW won't allow for a new track in here (never mind the financial aspects and the fact that motorsport numbers are in decline). It's just sucks now that all racing will be done either at EC or Wakefield. I wanted to do the last supersprint at Oran but I only heard about it a few days before so had no time to get the car ready.
  3. Whilst I agree with what you're saying about the R32 being quicker in the wet, the main issue with the R32 is its engine. It's a pretty heavy donk in a small body- the GTI is much more chuckable. About the safety of the AWD, the GTI's esp is a bloody good system.
  4. What does your mate want to do with the car (mod wise)? The wrx/sti is a nicer car for a daily but the evo is a lot more fun. In terms of mods; the 4g63 is a stronger engine than the ej20/25 (the 25 even less so). As for the gearbox comments, the 5 speed is the one with the short fuse but that's only when you start running loads of power (200kw atw, remember stock they're about 130kw atw) and abuse the thing. Show it mechanical sympathy and it's okay. The 6 speed from the STI is the strong subie box. For the Evo's the 5 spd is the stronger box. I own a wrx and have driven an 05 sti and evo 9 back to back. I preferred the Evo; the only reason I bought the wrx instead of the evo was because of cost (as I wanted it new).
  5. I didn't find the side walls of the KU36 that stiff; this was comparing them to an RE55A that I have kying around. The Bridgestone is MUCH stiffer
  6. Bye Bye http://www.projectddriftclub.com.au/viewto...&highlight=
  7. Cheersfor that. I ended up going the KU36 because there's a fair few expenses coming up so needed something cheap. Next tie round I'll fork out for something better. As for the tyres themselves, I'm very happy with them and including price I'm truly stunned. Then again I had bald POS jobs on the car before.
  8. Does anyone know if this fit an R33 or does the 33 have a wider track?
  9. PM sent - forgot to mention I'm located in Sydney
  10. That's about the only thing I could afford on that car; well that and the fluid that goes into the widow washer
  11. If you're going for it as a daily - thought of the GTI? More fun to frive and it's not as nose heavy as the R32
  12. NICE car.
  13. spotted an R35 at the Kingsway in Caringbah this afternoon
  14. remember you also got new tyres so they are still scrubbing in
  15. Yeah but I meant as in the best place to access it from; there's a few streets surrounding it No plan to take the car there obviously but go for a walk through it or perhaps take the mountain bike there
  16. Sorry to bump an old thread but how do you get to Catalina? I know it's just off the Great Western Highway but is it near anything and going off the maps I can't see how you get down to the track. Curious to check it out - it looks awesome
  17. Just trying to help but are you sure the Liberty's rims are 5 x 114.3? As far as I know the only Subies running those are the MY05 onwards STI's (and maybe the 06-07 Liberty STI's). The rest are all 5x100 PCD.
  18. LMAO - that's awesome
  19. It's for supersprinting. Went cheap ones because there's still a few more parts that I need to get relatively soon. I would have liked to gave gone the RE55's but the rears alone were about $500 (for 255/40/17). Next time it comes to upgrade I'll fork out for proper semi's. With what you were saying with the RE55's and 888's; one of the guys in the wrx club tested both of them back to back at EC. The RE55's were just over a bit over a second a lap quicker.
  20. spotted a silver r33 on Silverwater rd today around 1pm had an SAU sticker on the back
  21. Thanks for all the advice guys - I ended up going with the KU36's. Haven't put them on the car yet but will post up my thoughts when I have.
