  1. Search isn't working. Google does, and it took me to an SAU thread talking about it. No answer in that thread, however. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/311492-stagea-wheel-bearing/ There was promise of an answer, but nothing forthcoming. So the question still stands. Anyone know the part number?
  2. So, I had planned to spend today replacing the rear wheel bearings on the Stag. I cannot get the rear hub off as I don't have a deep enough socket. I will go for a ride now and grab one and want to try and get the wheel bearings at the same time but I don't know which ones to get. No worries, I though, I'll get the info from SAU. Search function not working So a new thread it is. Can anyone give me, definitively, the part number for a rear wheel bearing for a Series 2 RS Four S (factory manual)? I've read they are the same as an R33 GTR. If so, are you 100% and do you know the part number? If not, can anyone help? Thanks in advance! EDIT: DOH! Search working now....
  3. RB26 weighs in at around 180kgs bare, the Barra engine around 175kgs bare. Ancillaries would be similar weight. RBs are iron block, so that's a moot point. Block height difference might be a bit, but even if it's 40mm, that' be pretty easy to overcome with engine mounts and/or a bulge in the bonnet. I reckon a 4Lt in a 32 would be a f**king weapon.
  4. Euro cars have an undeserved reputation for quality.
  5. Depends on your definition of a "bucket of shit".
  6. There seems to be a bit of that at the moment
  7. The RS's are psycho. If I could convince the missus that it's a practical kid a carrier (like that'd happen) I'd have one in a second.
  8. Are non Nissans allowed on track?
  9. FixT. Seriously spending money on an auto. Why would you?
  10. What are you actually going to demonstrate once you have the statistics? And Nissan Stagea RS Four S
  11. I believe the 4wd ECU is under the centre console. That's one of the reasons it's so shallow. Can't answer your second question, however. Is there a particular reason you're wanting to go wasted spark?
  12. Summed up in the first 3 seconds -
  13. XR5 - MPS - Golf in that order. XR5s look the best of the three (subjective, of course). Engine is the best, although the MPS is more powerful (just a bit more agricultural). The Focus chassis is also renown as being one of the best ever on a mass produced road car. It's also a Volvo motor and is extremely reliable. The MPS has oodles of power and torque but chassis isn't as sorted or capable as the Ford. Super reliable, looks great. The Golf is a great little car but I've heard their reliability is questionable. Of course that's relative. Many Golf owners have years and years of happy motoring with no issue, but out of the three it's the one most likely (however small) to give you problems. The engine is a corker although the least powerful and torquey of the three. It's a great handler, almost on par with the Focus. Also probably the most expensive to maintain, although there's probably little difference between it and the XR5. That's my opinion.
  14. No Compliance on a personal import? Well there ya go. Learn something new every day.
  15. I imagine compliance costs would would outrageous at the moment as you can still buy ADM GTRs. My completely baseless guesstimate would be $10-20 thousand. Factor in a few grand of shipping and another $5k+ in taxes and you need to save yourself say up to $40k on the UK GTR cost over a local car. Then there's the long wait and stuffing around while the car goes through the process and then you lose another $20k upon resale as its not ADM. I'm sure there are some people here who KNOW the costs better than I do, so they will be able to clarify and correct me if I'm a long way off. Can you save ~$50k purchasing a car in the UK rather than Aus?
  16. And on top of that I'd just like to say this. Fek I hate this forum software
  17. The XR6 or else perhaps a Stagea? I've just bought a Stag (after r33 ownership) and friggin' love it. Doesn't punch quite as hard (yet) as the r33, but it still hauls and I LOVE having all that room! Now I just gotta get a towball so i too can tow bikes around.

  20. Of course. Understandably, selling you current car is imperative to stepping up to a GTR. Not everyone has a money tree. I was just pointing out that you're not wanting the best "project" but you're asking for the best options. I think WhiteGtt is under the impression you are after a toy/project rather than the best AWD car you can afford.
  21. He's not looking for a project, he's looking for the easiest way to stay 4wd but go faster. The best way to do that is for him to sell what he has and buy a GTR. It'll be far cheaper in the long run and much less of a headf**k.
  22. Do or do not, there is no try. On second thoughts, just do. Forget the do not.
  23. Let that be a lesson to all of ya's. Coming to Vic? Then you'd better bring yo' A-game, else we go burko on yo' ass.
