  1. I'd say get a 3.5 inch exhaust, with decent cat and mufflers. But I agree, if you have deep pockets - then step up to the GTR (although when it comes to GTST's I have never been in anything other than a stock auto 4door R33!)
  2. about time we had another R32 GTR in town to drool over! I have to say that Queanbeyan is the import capital! I was at the Thai restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and saw heaps of imports cruising past - skylines, zeds, S13's, S14's an S15, supra etc... I see more imports there than I do in Canberra! BTW - the restaurant is Lime Leaves and is THE BEST Thai restaurant in Canberra (and i have tried quite a few!)
  3. I think SK said the datalogit was good enough for tuning? and that the Apexi created the software in response to the datalogit?!?! correct me if I'm wrong... I'll see if I can find the post.
  4. I think I'll be driving from Canberra to Sydney either CRD or Hitman to have my GTR tuned, also looking at another option. One question - does Matt have the PFC tuning software?
  5. the manifolds I listed above should come in between $620 - $680. I'll confirm it all today. I am also looking at getting the HKS style dumps off the turbos.
  6. Guys I've discovered these Jap GTR manifolds - anyone interested in a group buy? http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k15456170
  7. These look pretty good and are a lot cheaper than the ones I have seen for sale in Aust (about $600) anyone know of better or cheaper ones? http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k15456170
  8. So what if your engine throws a rod, you can't replace the engine with one from another car? The engine is the only other part of the car that the registration authories are interested in recording the details of (i.e. engine #). what if you have a prang and the front guards, bonnet bar require replacement??? it is not REBITRTHING - which is illeagle EVERYWHERE, but rebuilding the SAME car!?!? I can't see how vicroads can say you cannot rebuild a car.
  9. That would be strange - why do themselves out of business!!! Anyhow, give Steve a call - he was really good when I dealt with him.
  10. Hi Aaron I posted details at the start of the thread indicating where to get your intrusion bars from - tis ok though, I would not want to read all that again!! here is an extract from the start of this post (5th post down) -ISASO in QLD 07 3200 3988 (speak to Steve) Mine cost $280 inc GST and O/N postage to Canberra 2nd part of your post, Call the RTA and ask them if they have a list of engineering signatories for the Sydney area (or look in the yellow pages LOL ). it cost me $450, but you should be able to score a better deal in Sydney. BTW - GTR's ROCK!!! Dan
  11. if I had the funds it would be mine!!! I'll let a few of my friends know it is available (I'm trying to talk one out of a new Monaro GTO....)
  12. shop around, have a look on carsales, tradingpost, carpoint etc...
  13. no worries chef - it saves you a few $$$ doing the work and a lot of it is very easy. get a quote for someone else to do it, then look at what is required and what work you can do yourself.
  14. Hey mate, if the car has been regoed in Vic for two yrs + then it should be ok to be transferred straight over to QLD (provided it passes the QLD road safety inspection ). I went to change my GTR from ACT to NSW rego and they wanted me to get it re-engineered (ie a new cert issued to show it met the NSW rego regulations). I rang the guy who did the original cert and he wanted another $100 - $150 (just to issue a new piece of paper basically!) as his engineer number was different from NSW to ACT. I spoke to the NSW RTA and they advised to leave it regoed in ACT until the two years has passed, then it could be transferred no worries. Check with your state transport authority to see what they say.
  15. yeah - you can keep them at that price, me thinks the original Ad was a furphy.....
  16. Yeah - mythbusters Rock!!! I want a job with them
  17. Yes, as long as you are using the original chassis that was complied and engineered, then you could swap everything over.
  18. mine had additional bars that ran from the bottom of the hoop section along the bottom of the doors to the bottom of the S sections, + bars that ran from the back at the bottom of the hoop section to the mounts on top of the rear wheel arches+ a bar that ran between the rear mounts (where the back seat normally sat).
  19. if you are young with no previous insurance, or a bad insurance/ driving record you can expect to be taking off that arm of yours....
  20. yeah - can do that, but then you have to get it looking like a 33 GTR sedan, more $$$! I think there was one for sale a while ago on here.
  21. 180athid can you PM me once sorted. Cheers
  22. 180 - where are you at on the sale? Cheers
  23. Hey Daniel, I'll check in for travelling expenses if I get one and you are heading down to pick up Oh - and my brother in law works for an interstate transport company, so I can get them to bring it up as well
