  1. Dahhhhh If only I had still had my job for another week lol. Good luck with the sale mate
  2. Have you tried at an import wreckers or just someone who's wrecking a gtr? Just get a second hand one thats grey. Not like its going to change much over time and then just get it tinted the same as the rest of the windows. Just make sure its not scratched But yeah bronze is horrible lol
  3. So whats the purpose of turning off the wide band sensor? If its at the best target fuel ratio for that part of the map with the correct throttle reading wouldn't it be better to just leave it on? And why would you have it switch off on the map? Obviously the benefits of it switching off when you give it a stab would be to prevent the ecm thinking its too rich and so doesn't lean it out and cause det? Is this correct? lol Thanks again and sorry for been a nob
  4. So in saying that, the v2 would be the better option to run? In the wideband, doesn't it affect fuel at all times? As compared to a normal narrowband closed loop in which can only act when at cruise or idle?
  5. When you say it had problems, what sort of problems? Were you recalibrating it as the manual recommends? And what do you mean the way its been used? Sorry for all the questions lol just trying to work out whats best. Thanks
  6. So in say that, would it be best to run 2 sensors. One on each split pipe in a twin turbo setup? So that you don't risk leaning out say the front cylinders in the case of having it mounted on the rear split pipe? Also with the wideband reading on a vipec, shouldn't it stay as close to the selected afr at cruise, etc rather than been on and off like a narrow band? Also has anyone had any use with the bosch sensor and a the lc-1 Innovative wideband controller? Whats the system like your using TITAN? And whats the difference between WB Closed Loop or WB Closed Loop V2?
  7. Hi guys, Just wondering how hard it is to install a wide band oxygen sensor on a v88 vipec ecu. Its on a 32 gtr with the full wire in kit and is running the map sensor and a few others. Does anyone know how hard this would be and what advantages it would give other than better fuel ecconomy and the ablity to refine the fuel map on full load. (And yes these are the reasons I was thinking about it.) And yes I have searched, so if someone can help it would be much appreciated. Thanks Matt
  8. I think he maybe talking about the N1 model instead of the V-spec as they were produced only in a Crystal White paint job which was exclusive to the N1. I could be wrong but lol
  9. Did you know that there were: ~Standard Cars = 40,390 ~NISMO Group A Evolution = 560 ~V-Spec = 1,453 ~V-Spec II = 1,303 ~N1 Race Version = 228 ~43,930 in total produced of the 32 gtr ~Originally only 510 were suppose to be made to be within the rules of Japans Group A racing but demade was so stong that they released the model for unlimited production. Hence the 560 for the Nismo Group A total. ~The N1 doesn't have abs, air conditioning, sound system, rear wiper, trunk carpet, and the use of light-weight headlights and were only produced with a crystal white paint. ~The V-spec models have brembo brakes, a retuned attesa system to the N1 and nismo options and they weigh 50kg more than the standard gtrs. The V-spec II also had 17" rims ~Production of the Gtr started out in May 22, 1989 ~The first Gtr was produced in February 4, 1969 know as PGC10. This is an awesome thread and should be sticky'd as well. Also the first link doesn't work OHY34H
  10. In my opinion mate, skip the standards and go for something better. They are good, but not the best and if your upgrading them you could do a lot better. By the way I saved these photos to my favourite gtrs lol hope you don't mind
  11. Lucky bastard lol but i can't complain i got a v spec 2 i suppose Looks sweet man.
  12. Looks good as mate. Hey can I ask you what are the skirts you got on it? I love the little bit just past the door!!!! Just finishes it off nicely and I've been looking for something similiar for mine but can't find any lol Loving it but
  13. Ha ha gotta love the v8 crew, just having an "discussion" with one of them on facebook in which he is tell a mate of mine to go out and buy a v8 instead of a evo or gtr. Tells me, "I haven't come across a GTR that has beat me yet!!!" Asked his setup and got this as a reply, "Is a v8 ss with 4.11 diff and 300kw's. Best I've run is 13.5. No gtr I've seen can beat that! And besides I think I know what I'm talking about, I'm a mechanic." Me just laughed and pointed out that it probably was a gtst and that a gtr should run a low 13 in standard form. And that I work on drag cars in my spare time that run low 5's and 6's, am a diesel fitter and I've worked on Phill Reeds Top Fuel Dragster. Then I got the answer "Oh ok. Nice. " Funny hey, put a mechanic with a v8 and bam he knows all. Yet I still only know a little bit compared to some of the guys I know.
  14. Ha ha oh well you get that. I thought I must have just got the wrong area. All good, at least I know I was in the right place now. Nice 31 by the way.
  15. Who's 31? Was at baskins last night at 7.30 and this was the only skyline that I saw. Thought I was in the wrong place and was like hmmmm don't want to look like a retard and ask if they weren't there to meet up if they weren't lol But yeah that was me in the gun metal grey 32 gtr. So hey lol I should have come and said hi but oh well. What time do you guys normally get there. Thought it was 7?
  16. lol Yeah I've noticed. I watched the turtle thing the other day (or was that this morning ) and was like, what the? but then I watched this and it took it to a whole new level. ha ha
  17. Post up some pics so we can see what you've done, Blow off valve to atmosphere is illegal in qld, so is a un sheilded pod filter. (should be in a box etc) not sure about handbrake and what holes for the cooler? did you cut through the front panel to put the pipes through. If so then yes this is illegal
  18. You can buy a cd off ebay I think I got mine. I wasn't able to find a website or link in english with it but only like 5 bucks or something. worth it but
  19. Yeah as Bunta said, check your core. Sounds good mate. Yeah I do it as a safety because as an engine gets older the rings allow more blow by and with the increased boost its not really helping the matter. lol Suprisingly my gtr has very little but good insurance. With the fuel dilution of the oil it does affect it fairly badly and can also lead to pitting of the camshafts, etc. So thats the only reason I do it. Each to there own. How much do you get the royal purple for and where do you get it from if you don't mind me asking? And what grade do you use? Heard some good stuff about this. Cheers
  20. Wow you do long service intervals. Mines lucky to see 5,000k's without the oil and filter been changed. Yeah I've heard the water pumps do fail a fair bit. Make sure they put an n1 item back on since your car is an n1 and not a standard pump. They aren't much more and if the car gets rev'd a bit will help stop cavatation. The bottom of your radiator hose should go into the water pump which is on the front of your engine. Up the top should come out of the head and into the thermostat and then over to the top of the radiator. From the radiator cap there should be a line running to the resevoir. Also there is a Thermo switch at the bottom and a drain plug to check. There is a air drain plug in the side of the head, just in front of the injectors And then there are the heater lines that should come from the engine block/head and run into the car. One of mine looks like it comes from the thermo housing and around the front of the engine. Not sure but maybe someone can clarify this.
  21. Could do as when the car cools down it will suck the water in from the reservoir. Fill it up and take the car for a drive and get it hot then have a look to see with the car running if its blowing any bubbles or anything in the reservoir. If it is will be a blown head gasket. Check that the reservoir isn't split been that its plastic as well. Have seen this happen before. Just some things to look at. Hope this helps
  22. Ah yeah, still good to have. Shorter the engine is cold the better. Oh I want a track car
  23. Yeah you want the thermo in it, otherwise it takes forever to get up to proper operating temp. Not good. I wanted it lol was looking for one for ages and then I lost my job and found it. Was like dammit!!!!
