  1. hey guys gave the AFM sensor a good clean with some carby cleaner last night, let it dry, took it out for a test and worked wonders, this morning everything was great to.. then the issue started again (power loss, but not happening for 5+ seconds, where i can move the accelerator and not get any response from the car) so gave it another clean today and it stalled whilst revesing out of the garage, then ran it for about 6km without a hicup (went to get some fuel) on the way back it went right to shit creek, lost power for a good 5+ seconds again, then when at the lights it idled fine, as soon as i tried to take off it was jumping back and forward - as if it was running out of fuel.. then went good for afew seconds, then back to the jumping, it then allowed me to reverse park without any dramas, im seriously confused now and got a feeling the AFM itself is on the frits, anyone got any ideas? starting to get desperate

  3. hey guys, long story short need the bolt size of the bolts that hold the seats in, on the R33 S1, unfortunately the previous owner of my car decided he wouldn't put em back on after working on the car, i purchased some 10x1.25x25 bolts under the impression they were 10mm bolts but being a bolt noob i've got no clue, and these are to thick, can anyone help me asap? thanks guys!

  9. hey guys been tracking and dragging the car abit recently and im just wondering where shift lights stand legally in NSW in order to decide if its worth getting one, would be looking installing it behind the steering wheel, searched and found nothing so just wondering what the geniuses on SAU know Cheers, Joel.
  10. think it could possibly be the BOV, the loss of power issue seems appraent sometimes when im just feathering the throttle enough so its justtt making boost but the BOV seems to be open? is that normal? i mean i was going down the freeway at ~90 feathering the throttle and i kept finding the point where it felt like the turbo was starting to spool yet the valve seemed to be making some constant noise, really bugging me now

  16. cheers heaps mate, yea ill probably be buying the rotors from the dba bulk buy this month! nah dad won't have any trade discounts (he was a mechanic back in Brazil during the VW era possibly explains his golf ) definitely going to do most of the work with dad, he will get a buzz out of it all anyway yea id searched most of the stuff and nothing seemed to be mind blowingly hard (essentially just seals and hoses) probably won't go through the radiator flush as bleeding it will probably be a bitch well he replaced the sparks with platinums, nulon oil, oil filter, fuel filter, radiator cap and the check over for $150 which i found to be great value (probably would have payed that to have the same service done on the old rolla from my old mechanic) guys are legit and really friendly to! cheers mate ill give it a read over at work tomorrow!

  18. hey guys, yes yet another post from me took the new R33 in for a service by a mechanic to ensure he couldn't spot anything major out of place that dad may have missed (ex mechanic- never worked on forced induction machines though) upon buying the car, talked to the mechanic and he gave me a list of things he found whilst poking around 4 new rotors (knew this one when buying the car) 3 new tyres (knew this one when buying the car) high pressure radiator hose leak power steering leak Rocker cover gasket leak radiator needs new front bushes radiator needs a good flush besides that he said the car was pretty straight and most of the work was due to age, not to it being flogged everywhere it went, any opinions on any of the work it needs and how much i could be expecting for some of it (he told me he didn't want to give me a quote because he doesn't know the RB parts price list very well and didn't want to lead me in the wrong direction once i take the car in to do the RWC to get the work done).. lol he also told me to hurry the f**k up and strap a powerFc to it so it could get some tuning done but thats a adventure for another day! also how much would you expect to pay for Oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, platinum sparks and a radiator cap from a local mechanic, still feeling like the service itself was extremely cheap (although i did prepare myself for the worst having heard some of the turbo servicing stories out their) cheers guys

  24. aghh damn, can anyone give me some insight into what actually triggers the airbag? these slip rings, where can i get replacements and how much am i looking at?
