  1. what special dynos are you guys going to? Anything above 450nm on a factory setup is a load of shit I've been to 3 different dynos, all come out the same. 240rwkw and 480nm torque, and this was with a GT3076 7 blade compressor and cropped turbine. Two of these dynos now say 314rwkw and 720nm. Might want to tell the operator to run his dyno properly. Thats simply a crap reading. You need to be pushing more than 260rwkw to manage that much torque. f**k I love it how people have no idea
  2. biggest mistake i see a lot of people do because they are too lazy to find a real vacuum line. Do people know that this is dangerous, and since your adding crap to this mission critical line, it might leak \ come apart and lean the engine, and possibly kill it at high revs? I've even seen someone dumb enough to run a line from the front of the engine off the FPR line, over the top of the engine down onto the turbo boost controller... Hot engine, rubber hose.. attached to a FPR line. If I were you, I'd plump that line to a better spot to start with anyway.
  3. considered buying one from a real shop?
  4. put the stock one back on
  5. well, I bet its the gaskets between the turbo and manifold. Nismoid is right, the head to manifold gasket makes a tractor sound. The Manifold to turbo gaskets make the high pitched sound. How do I know? Because mine is doing it, my studs are stretching and I need to keep tightening them. There is even a little brown spot where its leaking. It sounds like a kettle, or like how the redneck bushman put 2 gunm leaves together and blow through them and make that stupid sound. Thats what happens when the gaskets are loose - they make that squeal. I'm in the process of removing the turbo and changing mine too. Bumblebee, you may say you have done 1000's of cars, which I doubt you've done 1000's of Turbo charged Skylines, but do you hae one that has had a turbo upgrade, makes some power, and is actually doing it all the time to know what you're talking about? I doubt it.
  6. do a sensor check on the powerfc hand commander
  7. yeah bet but AFR's at the given values are only 12.4:1 Thats probably less than 5% difference to say, 12:1 It doesn't make that much difference hey
  8. well my AFRs were only at 12.4:1 when I made that power. Also, where else would the fuel go? lol.
  9. my 555s are at 78% and making 314rwkw
  10. what your saying is "how long is a piece of string" Need to know: Compressor Cover AR Compression wheel diameter Compressor Trim Turbine housing AR Turbine wheel diameter Turbine Trim
  11. hey mate, can you port the new one perfect, and then cut it up and show us what a real port job looks like? lol
  12. you know, thats not a bad idea at all would prevent heat soak through the burnout stage
  13. Do the R34 GTR's come with N1's as standard? Thinking about buying a 34 GTR
  14. lol mate, you should patent that idea - no one has ever thought of it. Actually, request a sticky, as its never been thought of here! lol
  15. LOL @ anyone saying the rev limiter would have stopped it. Of course it doesn't. All it does is cut fuel.. If the engine is being forced to rev harder, then nothing is going to stop it..
  16. I'm tuning this exact same setup in a GTS4 next weekend actually.
  17. those cutouts are really awesome, thanks for that.
  18. what sort of powerfc do you have?
  19. hhmm, not a bad thread. Will remember this.
  20. I managed a 314rwkw run, on the 0.63 rear on the 3037 (3076) but that was ringing its neck. Was only on 18psi boost too. But bare in mind that is with water methanol injection. Curve looked like a V8's.
  21. so many make the mistake of picking a turbo before they pick their power target. Pick a power target, and THEN ask what turbo would be good for it. Any other way is a hopeless way of doing it.
  22. yeah mate, waste of time having a ATMO bov anyway. Put a stocker on and never look back. I'm running 400+hp at the wheels, and still have the stocker.
  23. yeah its a low mount, standard manifold.
  24. might want to search this site, it has been covered about 5,000 times.
