I Smashed My Gtr Real Bad.
NickR33 replied to MINES_DATSUN's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The fact that the car is 4wd rears its ugly head once more...why do we see such big offs in WRX's because the cars handling lures the driver into a false sense of security... the 4wd system makes them feels faultless behind the wheel...and when it does finally let go...ITS A BIG ONE... Rear wheel drive cars are much more driver involved... you are always conscience of the back letting go and you just can't carry as much speed into the corner as you can when you have 4wd Instead of making the car handle better 4WD just make the accidents BIGGER! -
stoopid me... It just shows you don't have to drive around stoopid all the time just one momentary loss of brain power and 200kw under your right foot...

I got caught on North Rd in South Caulfield just down from Ormond station... I saw him too... but it was too late... it was a gold magna with the dashboard camera...very hard to spot:(

There is no way in hell if you had been a guy he would have let you off... Men just can't handle it when they make a girl cry and would do anything to avoid it... If I got pulled over and had a cry I would probably get a fine for being a ***** as well.. You must have played him beautifully...would have loved to see you in action:)

It's the mobile cameras that I am worried about...just got done two mins from my house doing 95 in a 70 zone...I don't usually drive around that quick but me and a mate were fixing my car because it had developed a major miss... one quick poke of the throttle in second and goodbye licence for a month...$265...and 4 demerit points...STOOPID ME! At least the car was running well again... if it had of missed at all I wouldn't have a licence suspension...oh well...catching the tram to work should be fun:( At least if a cop pulls you over you have some room to argue... with the cameras its all there in full colour:(

No speed limiter...chipped ecu maybe?
NickR33 replied to NickR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
cos...um...it went way past 180... it would have been to at least the 220km/h mark then I slowed down... maybe I didn't give it time to cut before I slowed down... I kind of got scared cos it just kept going and my gf was beginning to look nervous;) -
Just discovered the speed limiter on my 33 has been disabled some how...The car is completely stock '95 model...I had a look for cut wires etc but couldn't find anything that looked suspicious...the car has only recently been brought over from Japan and it was suggested to me that maybe the ecu has been chipped. So for all you tech whizzes I have taken a photo of inside the ecu...(a bit blurry sorry)...it looks pretty stock to me but I could be looking at a photo of my arse and I wouldn't know... any help would be appreciated.

Picked up a chipped stockie ECU last night
NickR33 replied to riggaP's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Interesting...my 33 is completely stock and I just discovered the 180km/h speed cut is disabled...(I think...the needle just kept going into the blackness) I had a look for cut wires or switches that look aftermarket but couldn't find any and the ecu looks stock as a rock this is very weird...any ideas? -

Hi guys, my car is running like a dog and we've pretty much got it narrowed down to a faulty AFM. I just want to swap with working AFM to make sure. Tried to swap it with a friend of mine but he has a 93 GTST and it does not plug into my car, 95 GTST. (4 pin plug as opposed to my 3 pin plug) If anyone lives in the SE suburbs (I'm in South Caulfield) and has the weekends or nights off (and can be bothered) I can come and visit or whatever suits. If anyone knows another way to test if the AFM is faulty... I am all ears. Thanks guys, any help or advice is appreciated... NickR33

Nations Cup 2004: GODZILLA time!!
NickR33 replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The reason I and most people I know watch nations cup is to see exotic cars racing, the types of cars you don't see everywhere... racing head to head... different cars with different setups etc (hard to do fairly) If I wanted to see a 600hp commodore I would watch the supercar series! I would like to see the Monaro beat a RUF modified porche or a nismo GTR or a Brabus Benz. In fact who gives a f**k about stupid fat commodores... I want to see something different! Oh and 7 litres!!! Thats a bit over the top isn't it. My 2c -
Rice anyone?

On the issue of driver skill...I was at Calder with some mates one of them has a 2000 model R8 Clubsport with a modded exhaust and changed diff ratios...a much more powerful car than my stock '95 33 When we lined up together I launched hard and cained him off the mark only to be run down at 3/4 track...with a few mods to improve my top end I would have beaten him. His car with mods $38,000 My car $17,000 The bottom line is the 33 is CHEAP for the amount of performance you do and can get out of them and they look great too and are heaps of fun... you will only get beaten by people who can drive and you will soon find out most can't... Oh and theres the infinite amounts of d**kheads in shitty cars that you absolutely destroy that makes you feel better after the guy in the 911 just wasted you... what goes around comes around

has anyone in here ever tried to drive a tiptronic... It has to be the most annoying sh**ful way to drive I have ever experienced
-
Not at all at the moment...as soon as I try and hit boost in 3rd 4th or 5th the car splutters, coughs and misses...I have to wait till Thu. to get it fixed:( cleaned my afm last night...didn't really help...doh!

Why do people hate the R33?
NickR33 replied to Laurence's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I really like 32's but all the ones I saw had too many k's on them (for me) and 34's are too expensive... What's left? a 33..? f**k yeah who cares if its a whale it's manual, it goes hard, it has the four beautiful tail lights and an RB engine...nuff said -
1/4 mile top end 88mph? black smoke too?
NickR33 replied to NickR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah I figured as much...just wanted to make sure that I don't spend $$$ on stuff I don't need... no point getting the new exhaust if another part on the car is faulty or if I am a spastic driver... thanks for the wisdom -
I went down to Calder last week to run my new car...It's totally factory condition '95 manual GTSt with 68,000 on the clock. All my times were around the 15.5 sec mark with my best 60ft being 2.4 However I could not go faster than 89mph at the top end? My friend also reported seeing my car blowing some black smoke on most of my runs? Is it me or my car that is making my top end so slow. Please help as I beat two friends off the line only to be run down and passed at 3/4 track  Nick
