    Oh dear :/

having really poor luck... I'm not sure of the reason, it was explained to me but all that was going through my head was... mo' money...mo' money
  2. maybe with some massaging of the mounts etc... but I don't know for sure.

    Oh dear :/

it 'says' 79,000 but who can be sure. I got the car straight off the boat, previously unmodified (from what we could tell) and really clean and straight. To say the engine giving up was a shock would be an understatement.
  4. *SOLD pending payment & delivery* I've got a brand spanking new ARC Intercooler on its way from Japan but have to sell it due to my engine sh!tting itself the size is 470 x 260 x 70 its piping returns on the same side doing away with the need for the piping to go up and over the engine. Installing should be a simpler task this way and your engine bay retains its stock appearance. (for R33 GTSt) $1,400 (I'm in Melb)

    Oh dear :/

I was merrily driving to work yesterday morning, listening to some music and just cruising in the traffic when I heard a strange rattling sound. I turned my music down to get a better listen and was greeted with the ugliest of sounds...clunk...clunk...rattle...rattle...uh oh! I got to work and straight away popped the hood to get a better listen and again heard ...clunk...clunk...rattle...rattle but this time it was louder...very loud! So I jumped on the mobile and rang Gerald at ice, who was really glad to hear from me two days before autosalon, with most of their cars and customer cars in pieces on the garage floor! Went down after work and met gerald who as soon as he heard the rattle just shook his head. Nigel came out for a look and had the same expression...not good! Apparently the sound is coming from the bottom end, most likely its spun a bearing but can't be sure until closer inspection...but the official state of my engine is 'stuffed'. Okay so now for the questions. I'm assuming that their is plenty of guys in Vic that have had their RB25's die a horrible death, so what did you do? Do I just get a replacement motor or should I rebuild it? The replacement would probably be the cheaper option, with much less labor and build time. However I would have to wait for a suitable replacement which could take months:/ And if I go for the replacement...where from and how do I make sure the same thing doesn't happen again? Anyway sorry for the long post, but any help and or advice would be much appreciated. Especially any places to start looking for a good RB25. Thanks, Nick
  6. yeah I've got a SAFC... still does it... only when cold... will get it looked at when the cooler goes in, prolly just the temp sensor rooted. Let me know if you find the problem.
  7. I get this exact symptom but ONLY when the car is cold... after almost exactly 15mins of driving it runs fine... go figure I suppose it will get worse when my FMIC goes in... might have to get it looked at... lol *so lazy*
  8. ditto... hope my cooler gets here in time :headspin:
  9. hahahahahahahaha... *deep breath* hahahahahahahahahaha BUSTED  why would you even bother?
  10. hmmm, the Winton fun day sounds good (and more importantly CHEAP) any takers?
  11. yeah the wider your tires on the front the more 'vague' the steering will feel. ie. I wouldn't go over 235 wide on the front of my GTSt Then again tyre brand and quality is more important than overall size for handling
  12. I have the Blitz DSBC Spec R and am very happy with it... I am only running about 10.5 psi through the stock turbo tho... However I have heard great things about the HKS EVC and was going to get one but got a price I couldn't refuse on the Blitz one
  13. not if you have a glove and ball in there too...
  14. oh and I almost forgot... talking sh!t about cars you think are inferior to yours doesn't always happen on other forums... the amount of R33 bashing that goes on here is quite amusing like WTF! you like R32's congratulations, I wanted an RX7 or 200sx or MR2 but ended up getting the R33 cos it suited me and was good value... I couldn't give a sh!t if I see 1 or 10,000 in a day... I like mine!... cos... its... mine! (BTW I destroyed a VL the other night... but he was wearing a white puffy jacket and cap... so the missus said it was okay :headspin: )
  15. Right now in another part of cyberspace... On the Ford forums their talking sh!t about the Holden guys... on the Holden forums their talking sh!t about 'Jap crap'... on the import forums their talking sh!t about 'knuckle draggers'... on the rotor forums their talking shit about 'people with any more than 1.3L'... on the euro forums their talking sh!t about any car that doesn't come from europe... etc etc etc Who gives a F#$K... D!ckheads come in all shapes, sizes and CARS... Why wast your life comparing apples and oranges... you like what you like and thats the end of it... don't worry about those tools and their loser flybys cos sooner or later driving like that on the street will see them WRAPPED AROUND A POLE... sometimes you win and sometimes you lose /end rant
  16. not to mention it had no oil cooler and had temps well in excess of 100ºC after 2 laps which meant it was well down on power..
  17. ... it is probably just your space saver jack banging around in its metal holder (located behind the panelling on the left hand side of your boot) I had all kinds of people checking my suspension before I realised what it was! Then felt kinda stoopid, so just check that before you do anything drastic.
  18. ... set of king springs got rid of my axle tramp... pretty good mod for aesthetic value as well altho I just have them in till I can afford coilovers... curiously tho axle tramp wasn't as bad at calder as it was on the street...
  19. you also could go for the ARC FMIC that has the return piping on the same side, doing away with the need to have the piping go up and over the top of the engine... so shorter piping = better response and cooling (cos the pipe doesn't go over the engine) and another benefit is that your engine bay still looks relatively stock when the filth pop your bonnet. I'm still waiting on mine to get here from Japan but when it does I will let you now the results (if your interested). Disclaimer: This option was suggested by my mechanic, I am in no way smart enough to come up ideas like this
  20. yeah I have the same DVD... just goes to show how far car design has come since the R32... I was surprised too that the R32 couldn't make it past the V35 but I don't think it had an oil cooler which meant it was running way too hot after just a couple of laps... The WRX was a STI spec C limited as well... so it is about the fastest WRX ever off the showroom floor... I think when people say the R32 is the quickest skyline they mean it has the most potential for modding due to its weight advantage? but I may be wrong...
  21. Just used this guide to install my Kenwood deck... made the task a lot easier! Thanks dude!!! ...now I have got my ipod plugged into my car I may never run out of tunes!
  22. did a search but didn't come up with anything... 1. what are the symptoms of a leaky injector? 2. do they get less noticeable as the car warms up? 3. will it cause the ecu to retard the timing? nick
  23. "when u more interested in looking at the hot import parked in front of you than the hot leggy blonde driving it." ...you have to move your eyeballs independantly from one another... ...seriously :Paranoid:
  24. I feel for you mate... I had my first accident the other weekend very similar to you... It was pouring with rain and my girlfriend and I decided to meet some friends up on Mt Dandenong for lunch (mistake no. 1) We tried taking a short cut and ended up on some retarded little windy road with gravel edges and no signage. I was busily discussing which road to turn off when I noticed a nasty S bend around a blind corner... I was travelling about 60 and wasn't speeding or driving like a maniac... So as we entered the corner (which also happened to be downhill!) I ever so gently leaned on the brakes... As soon as my foot touched the brakes the back end stepped out... I managed to catch it and straighten up but ran out of room to make the second bend (being an S bend)... tried to turn in and dropped a back wheel on the gravel... then we really started to spin! I realised I wasn't going to get it back again and was heading towards a solid looking fence so I gave up and jumped on the brakes... the car did a full 180 and we went backwards across the road into a ditch and barbed wire fence It was just amazing that I managed to not bend any panels (1 small dent on the door about the size of your fist) or break anything... just LOTS of scratches Sorry for the long post... just wanted to share that with you... your not the only one who has been caught out whilst driving normally... everyone be careful in the wet!!! Oh and dude you lost it in a straight line? Time to by a 4WD
  25. Yeah! no one go to Ice... they suck... and the place smells bad... but to make sure they don't feel bad cos nobody goes there anymore... I volunteer to keep taking my car there... I know I know you can all thank me later :jk:
