  1. yeah I like K&D too.. If you want lyrics your best to download some live sets, they usually have MC's doing vocals live etc. There is only a few tracks here and there that will come out with vocals already on them... that said I like... DJ's> Andy C Dillinger Adam F DJ Hype Total Science Kenny Ken DJ Craze (the best DJ in the world IMHO) Dom & Roland Roni Size ...and if you like lyrics check out MC Shabba & Skibba dee
  2. yeah they did a good job, from what I can tell... just the stock turbo went back on, its going to be a slow build up now... I had a cooler and a few other bits and pieces that were going on the old engine, but had to cancel my orders to finance the rebuild... It all comes down to $$$ I could have gone into debt to get more goodies but wasn't that keen to pimp myself... yet... :boobies2:
  3. yeah I seriously considered going the RB30 route... but I chickened out, lol
  4. all the machining, painting, various bits and pieces etc and the Arias pistons set me back about $4000... I had my gf's dad who has his own workshop take out the motor, strip it and put it back in again, with some help from me... so I saved $$ on labour It will go on the dyno soon, just to check a/f ratios etc... I won't be doing a power run for at least 1000km... my mechanic has layed down the law... *soup nazi voice* "...no boost for you!"
  5. apparently the pistons & rings were fubar as well as the bearing some pics for you bored victorians... its back in the car now, later will post some piccies of it all installed etc... see you guys out there!
  6. hahahaha... yeah I laugh at everyone going 'back in the day the music was sooo good etc, etc' ...but if you think really hard, maybe it was just the drugs that were really good... Anyone used to go to Cage (right near HK)... you gotta have a heap of sugar in your diet to enjoy that place
  7. yeah but hip hop nights are always full of wanna be gangsters... thats why I like dnb... cos of its rave atmosphere and the added bonus of an MC spitting lyrics... best of both worlds in my opinion... and no FUBU wearing imitation Tupacs... I like NRG, trance etc but can't do a whole night of it... just lacks personality after a while... whateva floats ya boat I guess
  8. a mate is in an acoustic dnb band that used to play at the Vineyard, he was vocals, there was also a drummer, guitarist and dj... pretty cool stuff:cooldance
  9. lol... you gotta love some nasty drum n bass... it has a pretty good scene in Melbourne, still pretty underground so it keeps the tossers away... So funny being at a dnb party and watching people who haven't really heard it before, trying to dance to it... they always try and dance all fast, trying to keep in time... but it runs at like 180bpm so you have to kind of dance on every second beat... BIG rave coming up at Kryal Castle, if you can be bothered... 15 internationals or something... my friends are running the dnb room, so should be good :freak:
  10. hahahaha... just take it as a compliment blade, your car must look fast even when your stationary... and if he ever approaches you again, use him as a witches hat for motokhana practice
  11. cheers Bobjones, beautifully explained:)
  12. thanks guys... to be fair my engine builder has recommended a running in method but I just wanted to hear some other opinions interested in the idling aspect... Bobjones you say not to let it idle for more than like 20 seconds, this would mean at some traffic lights I will have to blip the throttle hear and there to make sure not to score the bores? and when you say vary the revs, what range are you talking about eg 0-3,000 or just over the whole rev range? Also putting load on the motor? do you mean driving in a higher gear than normal whilst using low rpms? anyway thanks for your input guys!
  13. okay I guess I will chuck my hat into the ring too... Engine/Car> 1995 R33 GTSt with 75,000km on the clock Type of failure> Spun a big end bearing, all bearings were worn badly down to .5mm... rest of engine was in good condition. Factors influencing the failure> Still not 100% sure. I have a couple of ideas... 1. The clutch and flywheel had some heat damage (possibly due to my driving). This could mean heat was the killer, thinning the oil etc... I have no aftermarket guages so it is hard to tell the amount of heat in the motor/drivetrain whilst driving hard... 2. At some point I may have run it a bit low of oil, this combined with high rpms may have starved the bottom end of oil. I did a DECA day and some trips to Calder without overfilling the oil or topping up during the day etc... 3. The bearings were already worn when I bought the car 12 months ago and I just put in the final nail. This theory is hard to believe looking at the condition of it when it arrived from Japan and the condition of the rest of the motor when it was taken out... 4. I don't know... any suggestions? Maybe all of the above??? State of tune> 3.5 inch dump back exhaust, SAFC2 and EBC running about 7psi for daily duties and 10.5psi for fun... approx 170rwkw on the dyno... Suspension and tyres> King springs, stock shocks and 225 wide Federal's Oil used and service interval> It was changed twice in the 12 months, approx every 5,000kms with whatever performance oil they use at the shop (mechanics experienced with hi po imports) General comments> Rebuild completed with Arias forgies, total recondition of head and bottom end... Tomei Poncams didn't make it in time for the build but will go in at a later date... just waiting for the engine to be dropped back in and away we go... I did want to ask what peoples opinion on the best running in method? I have been told a few different things but just wanted some more opinions?
  14. lol yeah DECA was fun though... may have been my addiction to bouncing it of the rev limiter... vroooooom...brap..brap..brap..brap...vroooooom how is your car adz? back on the road soon?
  15. yeah I agree was just stirring the pot... although I did see a video of a race between 2 (modified 20v) ae86's and an R34 GTR around this really tight Japanese circuit... the R34 lead for a few laps but was then passed by both ae86's... don't know how reliable the comparison was but its food for thought
  16. not downhill through the twisties you wouldn't;)
  17. haha yeah... thats the plan, at least I know whats in the motor now and won't have any more nasty surprises... I hope
  18. Stock turbo unfortunately...still not 100% on how I killed it with the stock turbo, must just be a special talent hey... They have done a complete head and bottom end recondition, bored out the cylinders etc, etc... Chose to leave the rods standard but upgraded to some 20 thou oversize Arias pistons and rings, and some (156) Tomei Poncams but the cams aren't here yet so may have to go in later...doh! other mods are pretty basic, Blitz SBC spec R, SAFC2, Blitz 3.5 dump back zorst, Pod... yada yada... was waiting on a FMIC to arrive from Japan when it went bang... well it didn't really go bang, more of a clunk, clunk, rattle... lol!
  19. I love that pic of the rotors on Nige's Supra... saw them at ice before they went on the car... and the're fu(kin massive... pity they didn't get those rediculous Harrop enduro calipers on there too... would have been a mean combo
  20. Thanks JETDAT... you were correct to the dollar... and they had them in stock... rebuild is complete, just waiting to go back in the car :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
  21. great, thanks guys will give them a call tomorrow
  22. Hi guys, been getting most of the parts for my rebuild from Rocket but they don't stock water pumps or timing belts... anyone know of somewhere that does or should I just call Nissan... Anyone have the part numbers for a timing belt and water pump for the RB25DET? Thanks guys (off topic... anyone watch the new southpark on the other night... :spcartman ...so funny it hurt)
  23. its not so much the watching... its more the sound... and the bass like feeling you get in your stomach when they take off! makes you kind of want to beat your fists against your chest and grunt...lol
  24. If you haven't seen a Top Fueler in action LIVE... then you are missing out... TV does not do them justice...
  25. [quote name=ib6ub9 Fu#ked' date=' It needs a rebulid. Big end has gone, Now sounds like the pistons are clipping the head. [/quote] nooo... sorry thats poor luck dude... unfortunately I know what that sounds like and it aint pretty... but now you get to rebuild it and never let anyone else drive it...ever good luck with the rebuild...don't worry its only money
