  1. Thanks guys, I will definately have to get it up on a hoist to check it out. I can't get far enough under my car to see/smell it properly.
  2. anybody? you can't tell that well from the pic but its definately dripping from somewhere above the exhaust...
  3. As the title suggests... could it be oil leaking from the Diff? (sorry for the poor image) any suggestions welcomed (forgot to ad its looking from the drivers side, in front of the rear wheel)
  4. I work in StKilda RIGHT where all the hookers are (Grey St etc) and was on my way to Acland st on my lunch break, I chose to drive but sometimes I walk as its only 5 min... anyhoo on this occasion I had my g/f in the car, and literally half a street from work a cop car starts to follow me... I had the feeling they were going to pull me over so when they hit their lights I wasn't surprised... What did surprise me was when the female cop started asking me questions like where are you headed, why were you driving down THIS street etc and kept looking at my g/f... I soon realised she was implying I had picked up a HOOKER!!! So as you can imagine I became really unfriendly pretty quick and explained where I work and that I was going to lunch, she went a bit red and mumbled she was going to give me a RBT... but I got no apology! I mean FFS have you seen the hookers in St Kilda, they give filthy a new meaning, there is no way in hell my g/f looks remotely that skanky, and I don't look anything like the sad rejects who stop by from a quick one on their way to work (well maybe a little)... I can handle being pulled over for many things but being accused of having to PAY for sex... thats just wrong!
  5. Its all in how they word the statement, nothing to do with the stats themselves... you can twist stats to look however you want by carefully wording the statement and 'omitting' certain information... eg. the bit about 129 of the fatalities being under 16yrs old or the fact that they included passengers in the study... oh it would be written there somewhere...in fine print...down the bottom of the page...
  6. "Where Opportunity Awaits You" Fu(k that... how about... "Where Officer *****'s Throbbing Member Awaits You" :kick:
  7. Nice shots... mmm dusk and shiny skyline! 75% photographer, 20%lens, 5% camera... you can take good shots with just about anything... I looove the shallow depth of field in those engine bay shots!
  8. I just spent a week at Apollo Bay and the drive from there to the Apostles is great... must reccomend it to everyone who hasn't been down that way
  9. Yeah the factory water temp guage is basically a 3 stage indicator, cold, warm, hot... I am not sure of th exact ºC though...
  10. I wouldn't keep driving it around like that... I would get your mechanic to check the thermostat asap... mine was stuffed and I didn't know as I haven't got an oil temp guage (R33) and the factory water temp guage is not really an accurate indicator of whether the car is running hot (and it was)! a month or 2 later my car started to miss whilst cold and before I had diagnosed it as the thermostat I had wrecked my piston rings and spun a big end bearing... I should have had it at my mechanics long before that Im not saying that it was solely to balame for the engine failure but it was a major contributor. Good luck
  11. there are ignorant people on either side of the fence... some are stupid, power tripping cops... (that 18 year old has a better car than me, lets pull him over and ream him!) and some are stupid, power tripping import drivers (listen to my BOV... I am so hard!) so before getting all pissed off when you get pulled over, think about if you are actually in the wrong before you start being a smart ass... and if you aren't in the wrong and the cop is still being an asshole take his name and badge number and write a letter of complaint... don't just jump on the internet and whinge to other import drivers it is a waste of time! oh and for the record Brack's is a stooge!!!
  12. whats wrong with the dash?...lol nice pics, makes me want to go to Japan... hmm must remember to plant that money tree...
  13. I was on holiday in Apollo Bay recently and had to fill up with that crap 96 octane 'premium' at BP... I was so paranoid that the motor would ping but I wouldn't put octane booster in as it fouls the plugs, if I had coppers in I wouldn't mind... but not with platinums Hey Bass I have some cams sitting on the floor at home, if ya want them

does anyone know how long Ice will be shut for?
  15. NickR33

    Racepace???

can I ask the same question regarding Gerald and Nigel @ Ice?
  16. i thought it was funny, meh...
  17. brilliant! very funny thread... I miss the good old days when the cameras were those big blue boxes 10 metres out in front of the car and it was sooo easy to spot them... everyone would be flashing their lights ets... those sneaky dash mounted ones are bloody hard to spot if they are parked on the same side of the road as your driving...
  18. Dad's old sixties Alfa Gulietta (sp) needed to be double clutched into 2nd both up and down, but it was common for Alfas of that period to have dodgy 2nd gear synchros... was tough to learn to drive in that thing! Sounds bloody great though!
  19. I shouldn't have read this thread... I'm all scared to leave my car now
  20. is it wrong that I would like to spooge in that gap between the front quarter panel and the door... sooo cool...
  21. I bought some Tomei 256 Procams for my RB25 rebuild... but they were delayed getting here and are now sitting on my floor while I run my new motor in... so I can't offer any thoughts... but soon I will do the 1000km oil change, dyno tune and throw in the cams, then maybe I can speak from experience... BTW the build quality of the Tomei product seems very good in my humble opinion...
  22. Lag can't be that annoying with stock turbo... If your just cruising, daily driving you don't need to go that fast anyway and if all of a sudden you want to go fast JUST USE THE GEARS that is what they are there for, heel toe or just change down until you get 3,000rpms and off you go... whats the point of having a 7,000rpm redline if your going to ignore 60% of the power band...? As Roy said revs + boost = speed and acceleration... now a T88 on a CA18DET that is LAAAAG! All that said I have RB25 and love it... so go for the conversion if you can afford it! Bigger engines in smaller cars are always a good idea;)
  23. lol... tsk tsk... clearly the forum was not displaying the H pattern and had worn wiper blades...
  24. I'll probably get flamed for this one but... I hate fu(kin 4WDs!!! especially with women driving... especially driving the kids to school tailgating me and flying around the place like professional go kart drivers in a car that weighs 2 tonne, with 5 kids, 3 dogs, whilst talking on the phone... Oh and especially X5's, Range Rovers... in fact any stupidly large, luxo 4WD that you can't fu(kin see past!!! I think 4WDs are safer than regular cars because I sit up higher and I can see whats going on around me Yeah but nobody else can see anything cos your stupid living room on wheels blocks everyones view!!! sorry I think I should go have a lie down...
  25. then maybe you should LISTEN, instead of talking crap on the internet... leave the crap talking to us professionals, who are getting paid to surf the net all day... :kick:
