Which Big Brake Kit
Sub Boy32 replied to DaanGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey mate, Can you give me the part numbers for the PMU pads you fitted to the Alcons? I'm struggling to find a pad supplier with pads to fit. I emailed Carbotech and they don't have anything on the shelf to fit. -
Ikeya Formula Sequential Shifter to suit R32 / R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R and R32 GTS-4, May fit other Nissans like the Z32 300ZX and GTS-T’s as their gearboxes are very similar but can’t be sure. These are fully road legal with the optional digital shift display that comes with it, so you can see what gear you are in This changes your standard H-Pattern shifting to a back and forward sequential shift like a race car or a motorcycle. Now before anyone asks, It doesn’t magically make it so that you don’t need the clutch! It normally comes with only Japanese instructions, But I have managed to get the fitting instructions translated to English. I had this fitted for a short period of time in the car, But I have decided to go to a full race gear box now that the car is not going to be road legal. I paid $3350 for it including all the postage and GST to get it here from Japan, So at $2000 for an almost brand new one it’s a BARGIN!!! Can send anywhere with a PayPal Account at buyers expense Pics are on my Trade Me Auction http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=589126881 http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/images/wmv/sousa2.wmv

Cheers, I'm running Nismo engine mounts, I haven't spaced the subframe as i didn't want screw up the suspension angles (not that its much good from factory) I did however make solid mounts to replace the 4 small rubber mounts on the gearbox mount. I'd be surprised if the boosted master makes a lot of difference to be honest.....didn't feel any different with the same clutch

Hi Ian, There are some pics of my RB30 with a Greddy Plenum, Due to it fouling on the standard clutch madter I got rid of it, and run a S15 turbo clutch master, i got a adaptor CNC machined up so that it bolts straight on, and the rod length is exactly right. It hasn't made the pedal any harder (I run a Nismo Coppermix Twinplate) http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/154737-sub-boys-r32-gt-r-then-now-5.html http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/154737-sub-boys-r32-gt-r-then-now-4.html With injector tech now.....why are you going to run 12 injectors? Chris.

Front Cusco Lsd On Gtr ?
Sub Boy32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, I think it's prob just as easy for me to get it from Palmside, They are only down the road from me. I also see they have bought out a replacement to their Seq box for the Skyline GT-R's, And it has a Helical Centre diff built in? interesting...... http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qbe91g-0 -
Front Cusco Lsd On Gtr ?
Sub Boy32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Cheers guys, What are going for in Aussie? Just weighing up if its cheaper to buy there or in NZ. The Quaife supplier for NZ is in my city.....But if it's cheaper elsewhere..... -

Can someone with a Quaife front diff give me an idea of what the difference in driving between the factory open diff compared to this? And what are you using for a rear diff? What's a good match? I'm running a Nismo 2way in the back at the moment, I'm not bothered with drag racing, only use the car for road and basic track work. -

I am very happy with my Alcon Advantage Extremes that I got from Dan at JDL. I must admit though I'm not a huge fan of the DS2500 pads that they come with, Not enough initial bite for my liking. You can order them with "Track Pads" but I'm unsure if they are the RS29 Pagids that are supplied with the bigger Alcon sets for the R35. I might try a set of Carbon Tech XD10's -
[Closed] Borg Warner Efr Series Turbos
Sub Boy32 replied to Lithium's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I haven't tested the exh back pressure, I need to have some sensor bungs fitted to find the problem, this is something I will be doing at some stage, but having had the car off the road for a couple of years, I just want to drive it at this stage. I'm pretty sure there won't be much of a restriction pre exh housing, I have a ported head, 100mm Greddy intercooler, Greddy Plenum, Greddy hard pipes, and a very well hand built Sinco Manifold that are used by just about every turbo race car in NZ. I also run a custom made, mandral bent 3.5" stainless exhaust with only the one back muffler, and it's a Varex so it's straight through 3.5" when it's open. I know there is a lot left in this turbo (prob with the bigger housing) in fairness most of the EFR8374's with the .92a/r housings getting around on cars are under 2.5ltr engines. I just think the 3ltr is prob a bit big for it. My tuner is a very tallented guy, and I don't doubt if there was something simple that would fix it, he would do it, having said that, any ideas that people have are always welcome, I'm happy to discuss it. Chris. -

Yeah, I have tried the Forge one, But ended up with boost spikes from the back pressure. I think I'm just out flowing the little housing. -

Hi Rob, the spike at 3400rpm that you see is the Wastegate struggling to stay closed, I am running the hard Wastegate spring, and even with the boost controller at 100% duty, the most we can get out of it is 20psi. The small exhaust housing is causing too much back pressure and blowing the Wastegate open too early.....hence the need to go to the larger external WG housing. Don't get me wrong, the reponse is fantastic, and it really spools faster than the curve shows, and 630whp is nothing to scoff at, but it will be good to see what this engine/turbo combo will do with more breathing room and maybe some E85! -

Yeah, I went with the IWG housing originally as I wanted a really clean, easy to work on engine bay (I've also removed all the garbage under the Plenum) but with the RB30 it is a bit small. The engine is just the standard RB30 stroke (85mm) and it has 86.5mm pistons. Pretty sure he used 4th gear -

Here is the last dyno on it, it is only running the .92a/r internal wastegate housing which is choking it a bit, I'm waiting for a 1.05a/r external wastegate housing to become available to get the best out of this turbo. As I mentioned before, The curve only tells half the story on response for this turbo, It just seems to spool from idle! -

Well from the result I have with only the EFR8374 on my "non reving" RB30, I would love to see a EFR9180 on a RB30 or RB32. I too would hazard a guess that you wouldn't need more the 8500-9000rpm to get the best out of the 9180. My 8374 needs no more than 7500rpm to get the 630hp at the wheels it makes (only 20psi, 98oct) and the spool is fantastic.....the curves don't really do it justice either, it's like the turbo is on all the time! So, will the 9180 produce 550-600kw on a built RB30 on decent gas, with fast spool and great midrange.....no doubt -

Hi Roy, The car is 630hp at the wheels, and I will be running some used 9" wide slicks that I can get from a local V8 class we have in NZ so there is plenty of grip My local track is Ruapuna (Powerbuilt Raceway in Christchurch) and it does have a decent long straight, but has a very twisty infield that makes it a bit hard on brakes. -

I'm running the Alcon Advantage big brake kit on my R32, I believe they come with DS2500 pads, and they seem fantastic on the street, but I'm yet to try them on the track......I'm a little concerned they won't be good enough for the track (I tend to be hard on brakes by trail braking) So what would be a good stage up from these? DS3000s? I don't mind only using them for track days and putting the DS2500s back in for road.....any problems with doing this? I would like something with a bit more initial bite, and like a firm pedal. -

Would they fit the Alcon Advantage Kit as well? Would you concider making more? -

Any 1.05a/r housings being made for the EFR8374? .....failing that, anyone want to swap a .92a/r IWG housing (investment cast, not green sand cast, HPC coated in black) for a 1.05a/r EWG housing? I'm looking to go to a larger one. -
Are you sure it is leaking from the back and it's not the return pipe that is leaking. If not then from what I remember it's cheaper to replace the turbo than rebuild -5's

So....With SVG leaving the sport due to "Personal Reasons" Who is the prediction to fill his seat at SBR? ......And has anyone got any idea what the reason is for such a talented driver like Shane to pack his bags?

Are you sure on this? Surely they wouldn't use two types of casting for the turbos?
