  1. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm close to over speeding it, it will tell me if going to the 1.05a/r housing will be a waste of time or not.
  2. I really should exercise and drink less as well...... Haha! Nah, can't see me change the turbo in the near future, as much as I'd love to see what the twin's or a 9180 would do on my engine.....I just think it's a bit pointless, it's already scary fast I am getting a EFR speed sensor module and have just had a couple of bosses added to the manifold to plot turbine speed and back pressure, so will let you know what the results are.
  3. Yeah I love it! Power everywhere, 630hp with this much response is plenty for a road car!
  4. I'm running one on an RB30/26 ?
  5. I think the term is "decimate"
  6. No they weren't, grpA rules stated it had to be wet sump. The photo of the Gibson engine bag shows only the separator, the other part of the catch can is where the battery in the R32 normally is.
  7. We will see, I'm pulling the turbo and the manifold off this weekend as the T4 gasket has blown, so I'm going to get a couple of bosses welded on the manifold to test where the Exhaust Backpressure issue is coming from, I have the Turbospeed sensor, and before Full-Race had a Turbospeed conversion module we made one here, it is showing that I'm close to over speeding the turbo as it is. In fairness I can't be 100% how accurate it is (will get a Full-Race one to be sure) but pretty sure it's right. Is there an even harder BW hard wastegate spring now? As that Forge one is garbage.....
  8. The new Bosch 1000cc injectors have a great spray pattern, and are very easy to control.....easily our favourite injector. http://www.nzefi.com/product/bosch-1000ccmin-top-feed-fuel-injector/
  9. ^^^ What he said. We have run these in everything from 200hp NA Hondas to 800hp Skylines, they are very easy to control unlike a lot of the old school style injectors, and even at the power you are looking at if you decided to upgrade or run E30/E50/E85 they will have the flow for it.
  10. http://www.nzefi.com/product/nissan-rb-1000ccmin-top-feed-direct-fit-fuel-injector-kit/ Easily our favourite injector at the moment, a true 1000cc out of the box Bosch injector, not a 550cc decapped one like the ID1000s, so the spray pattern is great.
  11. The 0.92A/R is great on the RB26 (Geoff runs on on his R14) but it is a little too small on my RB30. Having said that, I've got amazing response and more than enough power for a street car.... It was a bit of a guess when I ordered the turbo, they hadn't even made production then, and no one had used one on a straight six let alone an RB, it took 9.5months from when I ordered it to when it arrived......and it is numbered #13. Haha
  12. Nah, not a big drag racing fan......oh and I'd prob write the gearbox off! (Maybe when I get a sequential )Was bad enough on the last fun day around the track when it lunched the front diff
  13. 2wd.....That's cheating! I'm sure you will 650whp without a problem with a 1.05. So one 45mm WG?
  14. Pretty easy to weld the gate shut and run externals (someone on here has cut it out and done that)For me it's a shame they don't make a 1.05 internal gate housing.....I like the IWG and how clean the setup is, but the housing is just that little too small for my RB30/26, it's creating a backpressure issue
  15. Fair enough if you are looking for 600+ whp......but obviously it will come at a loss of response. You are still going for a Full-Race manifold? If not I hope what you are using has dual WGs and not a single one. Haha, funny that Geoff said it would be 630whp max, that is exactly what mine makes on the .92 (20psi boost at 3400rpm) Bear in mind that Geoff is running E85, so his numbers are going to be a little irrelevant as he will be able to run a ton more timing than you or I on 98 pump fuel. Will be interested to see what your results are, what dyno are you getting it tuned on?
  16. Personally I think with a RB26 you should be going for the .92 IWG.
  17. I have a Sinco manifold on my car, very well priced ($850nzd) and very well made, they even had to custom make it as the EFR internal wastegate and RB30 combo I have, made their standard T4 twinscroll RB26 manifold not a fitting option.
  18. Hi, it is a VPNG, it's a different plug and different ECU, so no it wouldn't work.
  19. This is the High Spec version of the Link G4 Plug-In ECU. It suits all Skyline GT-R's (R32/R33/R34) and all R32/R33 Skyline GTS and GTS-t models (not R34 GT-T) This model has more features than a G4, like Seq Spark, 4bar MAP etc, it is basically a V88/G4 Extreme in the convenience of a Plug-In. Only reason I am selling it as Link are offering me a custom trial unit with some different stuff in it. (I work right next door to them) It cost me $2580nzd ($2630aud) about a year ago, I'm selling it for $1400nzd ($1290aud) I will also throw in a FREE new XS Loom (expansion loom) and a Boost Control Solenoid I can pretty much send it anywhere, normally would be about $30aud PayPal payment preferred PM me, or email vautman@xtra.co.nz Chris.
  20. Never really had boost creep problems, it's a back pressure issue. The exhaust housing I have is a little small for my RB30 with it's ported head, but I'm completely happy with the result I've got.......it's got easily enough HP for a road car (630 4whp) and the response is awesome. I could get more out of it if I changed to the larger housing, but I'm not going to bother.
  21. Buy the EFR! My 8374 .92a/r is the best engine part I've ever bought! Fantastic response, great top end power, big torque curve.......and more response than the dyno plots show by far.
  22. That would be ceramic wheels on turbos, like the factory GT-R ones. I'd be impressed if you could even break a ceramic bearing.....and even more if they could somehow find their way from a sealed bearing cartridge into your engine
  23. Not that I'm sure that anyone would be able to hear the difference.....but if all you are worried about is the sound, you must also be the type that buys cars on how many cup holders it has!
