RIght..... I am in the process of starting up a thread with all the stuff iv done to my car in the past. One of the things I did do was paint these "window wind protector things".....I painted them with a plastic primer and then gloss black paint.... They match my car...and look awesome.... They are also quite handy...they keep the wind off your face (if you drive with your window open) and more importantly..they keep the water droplets off... Like when you wash your windscreen and all the annoying water bits spray on you...it helps..trust me Also they act as a good sunshade... Why remove them..when you can paint them....and / or wrap them in carbon fibre etc.. I would rather you just paint them..but then again..thats just me Cheers

I would get a "cheaper to run" car first.....my two cents... The skyline is probably his choice because he doesnt want to be seen in a barina or the like......(which I can personally relate to - I drove a mazda 121 as my student car coz tats all I could afford). HOWEVER sometimes its better to start off small.....fully understand the value of a car, get an idea of costs involved, repairs etc...and then graduate to a more powerful "expensive to run" car. I would advise ANYONE getting a skyline to wait and get a good one......then you can appreciate its capabilities. So start small.....get a proper job...settle down..and then invest in a decent car...that you can spend time and money on..and that you can enjoy Having said that....an automatic skyline of that era is going to be slow....and besides handling issues in the wet (as mentioned before) I dont see it doing much harm. So you get to "look cool" coz ur in a SKYLINE...and you not shelling out a packet to be in one. At the end of the day the choice lies with you guys..from the ad...the car looks in decent condition...and seems a good buy....YES I would check it out thoroughly. Cheers..n good luck

thanks man Yeah I know what all three of you are saying.....It will be a pain in the ass if I go any lower...I currently clear almost everything...and it helps coz this is a daily. You know how u get the urge to know what its going to look like.....the bug just bit me thats all... Right..... I would like to see how my car would look "lowered"......not really interested in lowering the back by much....but the front needs to sit lower I feel. Thanks And yeah.....even if i do get bodywork done its gonna be done "professionally" and so that it looks perfect...i love my car and everything iv done to it has been done the right way. By scoop I mean a subtle one...just to make it a tad more agressive without losing the classy look...this car is not meant to look like a track car / a mean agressive loud obnoxious beast....my next drift car will fill that gap hopefully...this is my daily and has to look classy enuff for my lady while still pushin out the performance and look to please me... Ok...so that leads me to another question....been thinking on the lines of getting a bonnet scoop...something that can be "stuck" on....not interested in it actually having a hole in the bonnet. Iv heard it is legal but needs to have mesh on it??? yes no maybe?? And yeah the wing is BLOODY heavy...so thinkin of keepin the stock one atm....(the search continues....) It looks TOO big IMHO.....but I wud love to "wing it" (hahahahaa....get it....im clever rnt I ?? ) The pics are of the wing on somebody else's car.... Oh and a cop wouldnt buy the "its a standard GTR wing" answer because my car has a full bodykit on anyway... wish there was somewhere I could go and get it checked out / approved...is there??

Right...so this is the wing that I want to get.....see how it is wider than the original GTR style wing......thats the problem im told....what do you guys think?? educated opinions / advice?

I think he meant our local authority here in WA and just cited the RTA or watever as an example in Syd, NSW. I read through that pdf....interesting stuff.... Ok....my uncle is a state librarian and he sent me documents / press releases with regards to design rules etc...basically what you can and cant do. However everything is vague and seems to be open to interpretation. So in a nutshell....if you get a nasty cop ur screwed. It would be easy to resort to a f - - - the cops approach...but hey...I think they are just doing what they have to do....maybe not in the absolutely perfect way....but yeah..its a repuation we have to contend with....we knew bout it when we bought our cars !! ANYWAY..... with regards to the wing.....it says that you cant have any "sharp" edges or protrusions etc.....in other words anythin that can kill someone if you hit them (mind u they wud probably be dead after the ROLL OVER YOUR CAR AND FINALLY REACH THE REAR WING)........ so what about an R34 GTT wing?? Im assuming it would be illegal on an R33 Gtst coz its not factory...n wud be deemed "sharp"

Just wondering how we are supposed to know whats legal and what is classified illegal?? Is there a reference point...someone we can talk to.....laws..etc... Like for example...I just put a new bodykit on..and wanted to buy a rear wing.....selected one...n was told it wouldnt be a good idea because it 'stuck out' past the rear pillar.....if I hadnt asked the panel beater jus out of curiosity it wud have been painted by now...and on my car... So what do you guys thinK? How does one go about finding out this stuff?? Do the pit inspection places have a list of rules etc....or can u go talk to them casually.... Just wondering.....coz im sure most have similar doubts or thoughs....and can relate to this....

Well Lancelin and just out makes a nice run.......having said tat..iv done the whole marg river, albany, dunsbro, cape loop in a day...895 kms !! not saying we have to do that...but im up for a lunch day out anytime too... SO if anyone wants to organize something...count me and ^^^^ in.

first up......I think they will look real nice in black im not very good at painting myself....but for the record....I have painted my dash...my boot....my engine bay....n one thing I can say is sanding is CRUCIAL..n makes ALL the difference !!

trust me...keeping my rims brake dust free is a pain in the a@# !! specially the fronts BUT its worth it in the end Oh n I reckon..it makes the car look way cleaner overall !!!
