  1. Being put back together Also I think I may just have gone a bit too dark on the indicators....but I can still see the stock bulb light up even in bright sunshine..so hoping that it will be perfect when I swap with LEDs. I will get the white surrounding bits painted when I have the fenders done so the white bits you can see around the lens will be blacked out properly. Will take close up pics when I put the LEDs in.
  2. Indicators being tinted (I actually typed injectors before lol)...... Dropped the rims off to get the centres resprayed (BIG thank you to Simon from Autocraft) (BIG because the experience thus far has been excellent with Simon being the first person I have encountered in a while who keeps to his word - where a set time is actually a set time and I don't have to wait / also for willing to do it on overnight notice !!) Enough dish??? Aaaaannnnnndddd he works fast - centres already out
  3. They say good things come to those who wait....... I must have been waiting for a long time !!
  4. Considering this kind of applies to me in real life........just ordered one for myself
  5. "Too many things on my mind all at once.....plans are all jumbled up and confused.....need clear direction....must focus....work to a target......have to get organized !!! " Plans for the immediate future: - Book the car in for the wide front fender work. - Tint the indicators / get orange led globes (brighter) if required Plans for the short term: - Fit rear tyres (285s) on my new rims which fingers and toes crossed arrive by the end of next month - Move current rear rims and tyres to the fronts (might need to run a spacer but we shall see) - Actually commit to installing the new coilover suspension (which in honesty I have not done yet because I am waiting for the new rims to be fitted first) - Get around to repainting the wiper stalks and weather protector bits as they are starting to show wear in bits (seemingly I am the only one who can actually see this as nobody seems to notice unless I tell them where to look and they peer closely - yes I am a bit loony I guess) - Wrap the plastic dash surround in carbon look wrap to see how it looks OR have it plasti-dipped black carbon Plans for the long term: - Swap existing coilpack and valley covers with the new painted / graffiti ones - Research changing to either a Greddy or Plazman forward facing plenum (solely for looks really) - Research converting to running E85 - Get around to tidying up the engine bay a bit more and going braided lines etc. and thus begins the difficult task of actually trying to keep to this and saving accordingly...wish me luck
  6. Indicators arrived this morning
  7. Warm water wash with soapy (car wash) solution and microfibre noodle sponge....Medium cutting compound polish with soft buffing pad (paint is from 1996 and fairly soft being Jap) ....sealant and wax (hand applied and lightly buffed with polishing microfibre towel).......Swissvax polish and Dodojuice/ P21S Concours Carnauba Wax Oh and also tried Meguiars colour care (in red) and Meguiars ultimate polish which did add a bit of depth to the colour initially but nothing flash really and tough to use compared to Swissvax.
  8. Be on your guard LOL....updates will be coming soon...going in week after next. This is indirectly related.....but I practised some paint correction on my bunky this morning and thought I would post some results. Used an orbital buffing method for the first time so was keen to get some practise before working on my car. The red hue is the natural tinge of the polishing compound...... Was a painstakingly slow process though as I experimented with different techniques to find what worked best.... half half shot Quite impressed with the results actually
  9. Just picked up a set of indicators off a guy on Gumtree......so thanks to Daniel Going to spray them with VHT tint spray (or some such) and they will go on the new fenders for the look.
  10. Got the rears from Viva Garage Cameron. Had a lot of mixed opinions with their quality etc. so was not very sure when I first ordered it but it turned out great in the end so I guess it is a case of hit and miss really. The fronts I got off Joel (off FB) so no idea where they are from but took them to my panel place just then and it lines up well and quality is seemingly great so will have them on in a couple of weeks.
  11. Picked these up this afternoon....thanks Joel Bring on the widebody front
  12. NO YOU CANT MATT !! Stop being a dingbat !! and OCD and me.....rubbish....lol
  13. Mid July sometime hopefully. At least I have the tyres ready to go so that will not take long. Got 18x10 +5 (max on a 10 inch rim that Work make with O Disk) In other news.......ended up de-badging as the black looked pretty mediocre to be honest. Took me the better part of two hours to get the badge off with a hairdryer, thread and a precision hobby knife set...and then some good ol' prepsol and heavy buffing and it now looks sweet This was when it first came off and left sticky marks. This was after prep sol and heavy buffing Used a layer of colour cure plus rubbish that I had lying around in the shed too.....must say for a cheapish brand it worked wonders....quite impressed Also....my mirrors have suddenly stopped adjusting.....so went to check the fuse and realized I had about as much chance as scoring with Ellie Goulding as I had of deciphering the language. So I proceeded to print this bad boy out.......... Which was too big....so reduced it and laminated it and gave the trim a freshen up wittttttttthhhhh......you guessed it.....black acrylic from supercrap
  14. The bling bling "S" in the middle of my bonnet has been bugging me for a very long time. So I decided to do something about it this morning. Going to paint it black with a clear overcoat. If this does not work I will just remove it altogether. First step was to mask up the surrounding areas.......Thought about it but did not bother about the gaps in the middle as I am fortunate enough to be painting black on black which will go unnoticed. Second step was to get out my dremel and sand paper and lightly agitate the surface so that it would hold the primer and paint........ No pics.. Third step was to give it two coats of primer No pics.. Currently drying.... I am such a messy painter....not to mention entirely wasteful !!
  15. Got a set of 285s for the rears this evening.....nice and wide Still waiting on the rims Slow progress compared to what I am used to.....but getting there steadily.
  16. Rear camber arms are in......but no real aggressive camber yet as I will keep that for when the rims rock up. Wish Japan was closer
  17. Quick photoshoot before coilovers go on..... Wish I had a real good high def camera Love this angle...
  18. Monkey bar installed....not without a fair bit of monkeying around though - the bloody thing was a pain in the ass to bolt in with the carpet which I had to cut in places I did however put in new carpet inserts which I will get my little sister to stitch to the existing bits. Looks awesome though and I am well on my way to having my own personal go kart Annnnnddddd.....got my other bootlid back all painted and shiny. Will mount the carbon wing on to it and we are back in business.
  19. Cheers Matt....yeah once i get the new rims on and go a tad lower I will be happy with the exterior. Update.... Putting in the monkey bar first thing tmrw morning. Getting new coilovers in three weeks. New camber arms are on and looks much better now.
  20. I would go with Mclaren Orange...and yellow....orange on the rear and yellow on the front joining in flames at the middle....with black carbon bits and black rims etc. However my dream colour for a track car (if I ever get one) is bright fluro lime green with black carbon bits.
  21. The rear sits just where I want it to which is great. The fronts could do with being 5 - 10mm lower. This is not much I know but I would love it to be perfect. However I might hold off till I get the new rims and then get all the fiddley bits sorted once and for all. In the meantime....picked up this bad boy - or one like this actually...no pic yet
  22. Set of coilovers is next on the agenda.....prefer something softer rather than stiff / harsh so doing some research first...opinions welcome
