  2. Everything Dale said is correct. Unfortunatly the hardware in the ecu is not like contempry nissans. So while everything from micra to patrol to r35 is able to be flash tuned, the nm35 cannot to the best of people's knowledge. I still haven't given up, but it's not going to happen from anywhere within Australia. Piggy backs are the solution of now, emanage and Hks working.
  3. Yeah, I had a good look over one then. Gee, can't be many left round. Keep it looking good mate!
  4. Really? Thats awesome! Was it getting some work done in Gladesville a while ago?
  5. ERMAHGERD! Is that a Starion widebody?
  6. Yeah, was all handed out at the Dinner. Unfortunatly a lot of the people from the S&S had shot though by then. Was great seeing both your cars together. If you didn't catch the Guy who judged the ADM, and want that chat, you can PM on SAU under "jetwreck"
  7. Bob, you won something Can't remember what, but I'm sure they'll put up results somewhere.

  9. Yeah, ask him how good his experience has been.... Is it back together and you enjoying it yet Tank?

  11. Pull out your greenslip- says on the top- "compulsory third party personal injury insurance" You don't need insurance if people run into you- however having comprehensive is a benefit because they will do all the work on your behalf. Otherwise, as OPs friend is going to find out, you have to do all the work to get the money yourself.
  12. but he just lives down the road, and they have the best cars....
  13. Nope- wrong town. Greenslip cover PERSONAL injury caused. IE: hit a pedestrian, school kid, or personal injury to the other person/persons in the car accident. It doesn't cover property of people involved. You can get 3rd party property- which covers just things/objects you plough into. And you can get comprehensive that covers both your car, and things you plough into. If you friend is in the right, and someone crashed into him, and the police have noted as such- then he will have to write a letter of demand, as Terry said, with a copy of the two quotes for the amount of money to fix the car. Give him a set time length to pay, and if he doesn't pay up gearbox his doorstep get a lawyer to start proceedings.
  14. Don't get overly wrapped up with the Warranty stuff. Its provided by a 3rd party company, and allocates money for specific areas of the car- example, for some bizarre reason the whole gearbox/transfer driveline just shits itself (it won't don't worry) the Warranty company will provide $X000 towards the repair, but not necessary all of the money. When I bought the car, I had the option of having the warranty, which I declined. If its free, I guess its a win, but still 2 years on, nothing has gone on my car which would be a warranty issue. So its not Factory warranted or anything. Plus, if something goes wrong with it, Ben is really good with fixing stuff up as long as your not a dickhead about it- like the RX7 owner I saw one day.
  15. Just wait for northshore to get more stock. You should be able to pick something up for that. Or tell Ben what you want and let him find it.
  16. Uses an electromagnetic system for the clutch in the awd case. So no pump, no fluid, no lines, no bleeding etc etc. System is also found on the G35x in the us, and on pathfinders etc. 98 fuel is a must really. Gets the most out of these cars. I want car tent. That would be so cool. I wonder how many they sold? Anyone actually asked for a price from Nissan with the part number?
  17. Got cancelled, or lapsed? I know in the case of an insurance company that I was well acquainted with, if a clients policy lapsed without payment up to a week 7 days, if the client paid for the next years policy, they were able to make a claim. worth looking into- quick
  18. Lol, had heard it said, but not written before. Thank you.
  19. you have a sedan. none of them got factory brembos. actually, I think some really early manual sedans came with them, but anyway - you'd know if you had them.

Touring model is non brembo, track version is brembo. sorry about the format- it was just a copy paste off the online catalogue. have a look if its not clear.
  21. always replace cap whenever your not filling or taking out- prevents debris and brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it attracts water. may have just made that word up. Don't take all of it out (then you'll have to bleed them all), just a little bit, like inbetween the max and min, and then push the piston back a bit and check it again- you'll get the idea.
  22. Turbos not going to shit itself in 6 months time- like they have the habit of doing Better looking front Better looking interior Better looking owners Better AWD system
  23. Leaky passenger side rocker cover gaskets, that drip oil onto the turbo, check of the wheel bearings. And a diagnostics check of ECU, BCM and ABS computers for error codes, if thats not part of normal servicing. Check ALL suspension bushes. Will they take the auto sump pan off, and clean the debris screen? Are they going to change the fuel filter? Diff oil fnt and rear? Transfer case oil? Changing ALL fluids and filters is a bigger job than theymight think- its not hard, but expect more than $550, lots more I think
  24. See My answers in Red (I have a 350RX Four) In January I will be buying myself a Stagea, and so far I think the pick of them would be a PM35 350RX. Being RWD I assume it will be lighter and cheaper to service than the 4wd, but Is the 4wd version noticabely better then the rwd? I have test driven the m35 ARX and was pleased with the performance and handling. Also being N/A It will be cheaper to insure and more economical RWD is lighter, however is not really cheaper to service. There is nothing to service on the awd system except front diff oil and transfer case fluid which you could probably last 100k kms. The awd system normally operates in the rwd function, and when slip is detected, transfers varying amounts of torque to the fnt wheels. It does NOT have traction control or stability control. The RWD version comes with traction control only. You will NOT save any money on insurance. These cars are not in the databases as yet to my knowledge, so they base the price off a NM35. Would I be saving myself money by getting the RWD version? Or would I be missing out? As long as purchase price is equal, you'd be stoopid not to get the awd. Far more gain. Practically nil costs, and IMO safer. If you want skids, just pull a fuse to go RWD. I am not mechanicaly minded and will be taking my Stagea to a mechanic for servicing, I hear that the transmission and engine parts are shared with the Maxima and r36 Skyline. Are general parts and servicing an issue for Stagea owners? Im willing to D.I.Y lube changes to save money if needed. This would have to be the easiest car to DIY oil and filter EVER. Once the under tray is off, everything is right there in front of you. Driveline is shared with a variety of Nissans- 350z/V35, not really maxima. Serviceable parts are not hard to get, however trim/body stuff is generally a few weeks from Japan. I beleive the average fuel consumption for stageas is 10-14litres per 100kms. Is this especially thirsty? My Hatchback averages 8l and im a pretty economical driver. Ofcourse I will be booting it every now and then and I accept that its going to get thirsty but is this Car going to send me broke in Petrol bills? The cars are reasonably economical if driven sensibly and meduim to long distances. About in the range you indicated. They do NOT like short trips to the shops, or sitting in traffic / low speed and will return bad economy. Yes, you will feel the pain coming from a hatchback, and it only takes 98RON. I will be in Japan for the month of December and will be buying the stagea once I get back, is there anything that I should pick up in Japan whilst I am there that the stagea could use? Factory lacey seat covers? I want a set- because toyko taxi time Any other questions just ask there are other Series 2 owners on here, but I'm the most uhhhh.... active
  25. Oh, and don't spill brake fluid - it strips paint. Just in case you didn't know.
