N/a R33 Exhaust System 2.75 Inch Cat Back Droney?

Just an update on the exhaust guys, i ended up purchasing it for 120 bucks, ,I took your advice and installed it at an exhaust shop, got the 2.75 inch hot dog resonator cut out and welded a 2.5inch one, i also purchased a silencer and bolted that onto the canon. Now the car just has a humble note to it, no drone or raspy sounds at all. Its slightly louder than my factory but not by much (which is what i was hoping for). The silencer has this volume control thing on it, so i could make it a bit louder or more softer if i wanted. Anyways cheers for the help guys, helped me a lot! -
What puzzles me is why do they still bother making Pods if they do shit all =/ Unless tuning is required to take advantage of a pod...maybe?

Haha well Spending 2000+ on real rays just isnt worth the money on a n/a skyline, considering the wheels alone will be worth 25% of the value of an n/a skyline, and the op did say he didnt want to spend 1000+ on new wheels so its a fair alternative.

Dude just get a brand new k&n panel filter from ebay, they're much cheaper than supercheap auto, some even come with the K&n cleaning kit. Looking at 50 dollars. Yea i asked him if it droned on his car, he said it did a little bit when he installed a bigger turbo, so im guessing the lagg from the turbo made it sound like a n/a with a 3 inch exhaust. But he said the stock turbo note was perfect. One of my mates told me to just install the high flow cat and the canon, and leave the 2.5inch b-pipe stock so it will quieten the noise with he stock resonator. Anyways not too fussed about it, just dont want to keep my hopes high that it'll sound good. Cheers for the quick reply. -

Haha yea second hand 100 dollars, looks like he spent a fair bit on it as well judging by his receipts, it was the only reason i was considering it =p Well if worse comes to worse i could always switch back to my factory exhaust but keep the high flow cat aye ? It has a hot dog resonator (i think thats the technical name for it) -
Hey guys,bit of a noob on this topic, was just thinking of buying a new exhaust system, i found a rb25det (turbo) cat back exhaust, comes with 2.75 inch piping and a high flow cat, canon tip muffler all for a really cheap price, and was wondering if it will be droney on my n/a, or will it give a nice note? I heard 3'' exhausts are terrible for n/a's, all you end up with is a farty exhaust and nobody wants that =p Also wondering will it directly bolt on to the factory flange or will i need to do some welding ==' Cheers guys

Hey, ive asked this question before, things that worked for me was cleaning and adjusting the aac valve, turning the key 1 second longer while starting the car, and cleaning air flow sensor (highly unlikely that this one is the issue). Hey guys, just a few hours ago i noticed this kind of screeching sound (kinda like worn out brakes being applied) coming from my rear wheel. The squeak is only present at slow speeds, as i speed up it disappears. My brakes have been serviced with new brake pads, as well as the brake fluids flushed out so i dont think its the cause of the squeaks. I made sure the hand brake was down as well. To eliminate the possibility of it being the handbrake, i attempted to slow the car down using the handbrake (to identify if the squeak would get louder or change in tone) while the wheel was squeaking, the squeak still persisted making the same noise, I already read through another forum but there was no answer, just people reporting they had the same problem. Theres no smoke or anything coming from the wheel, my guess is that its a wheel bearing problem but not 100% =/

Haha considering the fact that a rb20e only has around 100kw, thats a 0-100 time of 10 seconds ish. (from calculation of the 147kw rb25de 0-100 8 seconds). Daihatsu however depending on what model average 9 seconds =p Ontop of that they are front wheel drive, andddd they are lighter! So yea by my calculations daihatsu will be the winner! What i dont understand is why nissan made a inline 6 when their 4cyl ca18 and sr20 surpasses it in power (n/a).

Read the first few pages, you'll see that most of us were talking based on personal experience, no one was getting defensive. Fryters stated: n/a cars arent that bad, they are fun to drift. I stated, it was pretty quick in its time, up against other cars in the 1990s it did win a bit of races, todays standards are much higher etc etc.. It was from there all the others started challenging our word and having a go at us, saying things like "N/as have no respect", "who buys a n/a skyline", "rb25 n/a is terrible, if rb30s are slow rb25 must be", "why buy a n/a when you can buy a stroked rotary" etc. They laughed at whatever opinion we gave that was in favor of the n/a skyline. It felt like their goal was just to ridicule us cause they drive twin turbo gtrs, xr6ts etc... while we cruise in a n/a. Some people made valid points, others such as fryters was provoked.

lol after watching this thread for a while, i feel bad for fryters. All he originally said was "Na's arent that bad, although they arent fast, they are fun to drift". He wasnt in the wrong, he was making a claim that n/a's arent that bad from his personal experience You guys are the ones who went off topic by challenging him, causing this argument to take place and drift off topic. Then started ganging up on the kid. Even the moderator of this forum stated this topic was about how quick the N/As are but he himself started challenging fryters. Its no wonder his replys are starting to get aggressive, let the guy be jeeze. His a fellow car enthusiast like you, whose passion lies in drifting. So what if he has his opinions on commies, you guys are no different hating on the n/a's with your silly opinions. Seriously i joined this forum thinking people would respect and acknowledge everyone's opinions, turns out they just look down on you if they drive something better, looking for some stupid argument, i just saw another post of a guy asking if he should get a R33 or R34 GTR since he was stuck and didnt know which one to get, obviously he was looking for a fellow car enthusiast to help him out on this God forsaken forum, instead half the guys on that post started having a go at the op for no reason. Ill admit i was also in the wrong in this post, i did curse at one of the members but i apologized for it as well, he still ended up replying to me like a cock. As did a lot of you to fryters. Pathetic, all of you.

Haha rb25 is more powerful than a rb30 =p Also in regards to your track comparison, the zo6 and zr1 is a well made car, no ones saying otherwise. ZR1 demolished r35, its probably the best car out there and its a stick shift. GT500 on the other hand is a joke no offence. I wouldnt speak highly of it.

LOL yea didnt consider that =p And omg so your saying on a track with twisties a r35 is slower than a gt500?? And ontop of that give the gt500 awd and electrical trikery? Now whose talking stupid. If that were the case i can easily say just give the r35 more power. This is what i meant by "cant utlize power properly" cause the gt500 has none of that in their engineering Zr1 is a proper example of an awesome american car, that was built to be good at everything not just silly 1km races, it also demolishes the r35, well built ls9 motor as well. Something the gt500 lacks. .Also if you stop being a douche bag for 1 minute and read carefully you would see i wrote 1/4 MILE!! not 1 bloody km, in the long run any car with high hp will win! Its just becomes a top speed run. Its just soo impractical. Gt500 might be faster on 1km and a roll but thats just it. Put more power into that thing and it wont do any better. Put more power into a r35 and it will leave that gt500 in the dust in every race! And guess what, thats a fact!

I actually strongly agree with this statement. We need to also consider and realize that aussie cars are still in the end family sedans, its not like an evo or wrx. It was built with the intention of going fast on public roads not on tracks, and that extra torque/kw was intended for toeing not dragging. The boaty like feel was done on purpose for family comfort. I know alot of people will argue with me however 2 of my mates owns a commodore. One owns a VE another a VZ. My mates VZ's engine dried out all the oil, oil just turned into sludge and the motor just choked. His service was due in 5 months. That vz was obviously driven like a race car. The guy with the VE blew his motor while being a dickhead and flooring it down greens road. Falcons however i havent witnessed anything bad. Correct me if im wrong but why do you thing ford is switch to 4cyl turbo? Its cause they are trying to be environmentally friendly and satisfy customers needs of fuel efficiency as oppose to power. Also why do you think p platers are allowed to drive these cars but not evos or wrxs? They are very similar arent they? Both 4cyl, both turbo? Its cause of the intention of the manufactuer was different for the ford, they built that car to drive normally. =) That being said, SS and HSV (mainly the HSV) was built with the intention of marketing to a true car enthusiast. Dont get me started on American cars, theres actually a video by motor trend called the worlds greatest drag race 2. An over powered shelby gt500 with 660hp vs a 530hp r35, r35 raped it. Not always about power! It was a full 1/4 mile race, This is the question i always ask in regards to amercan cars: whats the point of having power if its not utilized correctly?

Ive already admitted and stated that a few comments before that a late model commie or falcon beats my skyline. Also stated before Vn commodore beats my skyline as well. 1/4mile becomes an all KW race so obviously a commie or falcon will win. BA and VZ onwards, my car does get "raked". But if you actually read my other posts i made a comment saying the N/A skyline is pretty quick in its time. in 1996 - 1999, it did pretty well. So for a car of its age its not that bad, go back a few pages you'll see my comment there. However 0-100 times is all we need on public roads, as stated above, its not like we're going to be going past 80 anyway so its perfect for a p plater anyway. Highlu unlikely youre going to be taking an n/a at the track. Also I wasnt claiming to be mightier, i just wanted to make people understand why we drive N/a's. I really hate these restrictions with a passion. Edit: btw im a guy =='
