  1. Trained in Tae Kwon Do from 13 until 15, then Gosoku Ryu Karate from 19 until 22. Tried a bit of Judo, Aikido, Muay Thai, and MMA. Didn't like MMA, Judo or Aikido. Haven't done decent training for 7 years so I got into barbells and weights
  2. @NickR33 I used to work all day on the computer a while back, now I don't and I do recall having a lot of wrist soreness at that time. Damn man, a pair of 40's? I tried a pair of 40's several months ago and I was wobbly as a drunk sitting on a two legged chair, then I quit trying afterwards. I'll try again but with lower weights until I can get the balancing right. @some_cs_student, knurling is the name of the marker? I'll take it. I also didn't know about the different widths of the knurling. On the wrists, I am sorry to hear about your wrists! I'll be sure to be careful with mine, thanks for the warning. @GTR_JOEY, yeah lame excuse for no place to rest them I think I meant to say that the bar can rest on the forks and on my chest when I am done or tired, I will try dumbells in my next workouts. @Birds, I really appreciate the inputs you guys have, I can't push more than my current bench press because of my wrists so having a lot of ideas will help speed up solving my issue. Thumbs up
  3. Thanks guys for the help. I don't cock or over bend my wrist back, the bar sits center of my wrist and to the palm, I think I wrote differently so I apologize. No issues with pulling and rowing (yet!) but I'll investigate thoroughly this Wednesday with a couple of buddies to observe. This is probably what I need, someone to check my wrists and hands while I bench and then exchange observation notes. The width of my hand position is the perfect balance for me for benching, not too wide (that hurts the wrists), and not too narrow. There are two line markers on the bar at both sides, this marker sits between my pinky and ring finger when I bench, is there a name for that marker..? I do 8 reps for 5 sets for most weights, 5 or 3 reps/sets when I am struggling, from 102kg and above. Warmups are 15 reps with 3 sets, light weights. Sounds good or is there something I can try out? I have a fear of heavy dumbell bench press as unlike a bar, there isn't a place for them to rest. But very right, I should try as I don't do dumbells at all in my workouts. Thanks again guys, really awesome help coming!
  4. Yeah, gloves do help a bit, especially when I have slightly wet palms, and the grip thickens so less concentrated pressure in the hands. The bar rests on the end/bottom of my palm. That is where I get the most pain and from the wrists I guess from the weight resting on that area. I get the same problem when I do weighted dips, my limit comes when the pain starts at the wrists. I can take the pain for the palms because of years of mastu*.... ew A friend of mine told me recently to try different hand positions of push-ups to get the wrists used to the bends and twists, strengthening some parts. I'll give it a try too. Thanks Birds.
  5. You know that movie starring Bruce Willis in Unbreakable? The deleted scene where he is in a locker room and bench presses I think around 500lbs/226kg, and everyone looks in disbelief? Well, I bench press nowhere near that weight. My max bench is 265lbs/120kg. From 225lbs/102kg and up is when I start to have wrist pains. Makes sense in what you are saying that wrists, like knees, cannot be really strengthened. I guess joints are the weakest link in a body. I will try to look for wraps online. Ya, and no more amino acid tablets, doesn't work much. Thanks guys.
  6. I have a Q guys. I bench a bit heavy now and it is murder on my wrists, feels like they could split apart. Would wrapping help or am I missing some crucial wrist workouts? I don't use gloves too, would gloves help? Am now taking mutli-amino acid tablets, don't know if they help though, its been several weeks and I don't think it is making a big impact. Won't buy again.
  7. I clean (or try to clean) every oil change. Not over kill I think. There are sprays that are specifically made for AFMs out there, just a few dollars and you won't be finishing the can in a long hwhile.
  8. They don't do much, unless you use straight Toluene in large amounts. Naphthalene (old ingredients for mothballs) works a bit as well, but I think it will do more harm due to them having a tendency to crystallize very easily. I use Toluene and Naphthalene simply because we have only 89 or lower octane There is a big difference in power, and exhaust temps when using Toluene. Don't see much difference with Naphthalene, exhaust smells horrible, and need to dump Acetone for removing possible deposits every oil change. If my engine breaks, I'll be sure to let you guys know
  9. I look more hispanic than black. Mixed asian, european, and pacific genes, makes me look like a runt haha.
  10. So I am back after a long hiatus. Here is me with 125lbs weighted dips, 2*45lbs plates and 1*35lbs plate in my backpack. I did three dips in total. This was taken a few weeks ago and I am now dipping heavier. Only taking multi-vitamins and aspirin (for soreness). Diet consists of veggies and meat only, no carbs aside from carbonated drinks Heavy drinking in the weekends BTW what happened to the Wasteland?
  11. Looks like you know what you need but can't get them imported, I hate when that happens, anyway, the U.S has a strong ban on Skylines so... How about tribulus + DHEA? They gave me a really nice boost when I was taking them them at my uni a few years back, would definitely recommend that you (or anyone) try if you already haven't done yet. I used less than the recommended dosages, but even then it had a strong impact in my workouts.
  12. There is a link at www.bodybuilding.com where it showed what products can be sent over to Australia. I was just looking at it yesterday but now I can't find the link.
  13. Man, it IS expensive here. Everything is expensive, so naturally people tend to buy cheaper lower quality stuff imported, mostly from the great nation of the Philippines. 12 rolls of toilet paper costs 9 AUD, a can of good grade tuna for 5 AUD... It wasn't like this 5 years ago, global economy is shifting and changing, and smaller countries, especially in the Pacific suffer the most because there is no benefit from them. Nobody is out fishing due to high gas prices and no one will buy fish because of the cost of gas passed onto the fish. There are no exports here, our import goods costs increased 5x over the past years due to import tax increase, fuel costs, increased container charges, etc. Not arguing, just telling it like it is here. *eats Nutri-Grain bar*
  14. Try and check your MAP sensor, I cleaned out one for a friend who has a Honda Civic. Cured his weird idle problems.
  15. Having a stable healthy diet here is difficult because it ends up burning a big hole in my wallet since garbage food is generally cheaper than fresh healthy foods... I do go for lots of vegetables, whole wheat bread, good quality meat like fish and lean beef cuts and mussels, I love mussels. Soups are great, drink lots of water, and have some flax seed oil. If you have a blender, then perfect, throw in a bunch of vegetables and add no-sodium bullion soup flavored cubes and some water. Heat it up and there you go, good soup (add some oat meal flakes for an interesting flavor). I can't stick to a diet too much though, it gets boring and I get tired of eating the same stuff. I also have the same dislike for sweets , I never liked them at all, except for fruits. Not much to add, just felt like writing something
  16. Oh man, I wish I was that tall. I am just taller than Tom Cruiz by an inch. 5ft 7 Yes I have heard short men jokes, like how I can do backflips under my bed and other stuff. Anyway, weighted dips are probably the best workout to increase your bench press power (if done correctly) and is great for triceps. My most favorite workout, kinda feels like I am Adonis lifting (floating) myself out of some primordial soup, then dipping back, repeating the cycle several times.
  17. I weighed 82kg at the time, I did a lot of weightlifting and won several medals in our Uni competitions over the years. Dips were like walking a flight of stairs for me, easy stuff. I am now doing 22kg weighted dips at 8 reps, 5 sets. The belt hurts initially more than the dips, hate these love handles.... Haven't hit 50 unweighted dips yet, still 30ish.
  18. I have this installed and just love it: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158DSXS100/Sony-DSX-S100.html?tp=5684&nvpair=FFBrand|Sony There are other models I think with what you need.
  19. Try pulling on the reset stalk for the speedo until it works, don't pull too hard though. If it works, then the contacts inside the stalk needs cleaning.
  20. Try tapping (NOT HITTING ) your starter with a hammer or any other object with good inertial properties, give it a nice "tonk tonk tonk" sound. If it starts, then you need to replace the starter brushes, cheap fix too. From experience of three different vehicles having the same problem.
  21. Some octane booster isn't going to do much, and 3 weeks ago means today the fuel is back to stale. If nothing has changed except time, then the fuel could be still the culprit. Add 1/4th gallon of toluene, trust me, it isn't going to damage anything, in fact, I would recommend the whole gallon, but start off with 1/4th. Hmmm, other things to check are your fuel filter and fuel pump condition. Good luck and lets see how this unravels.
  22. Get a replacement or better after market fuel filter Locate fuel filter (I don't have an R32, but I think it is in the back under the trunk?) Unplug fuel pump fuse Start car, let die Try to start car again to be sure there is no left over pressure in fuel line Pull out old fuel filter Enjoy getting high from fuel Put in new fuel filter Return fuel pump fuse Start car, let idle Done
  23. I donated a pint of blood Thursday and was advised to skip the gym that day. Well duh I thought, I wouldn't want my blood vessel exploding on everything and on everyone. I won't skip today (Friday) as I feel missing yesterday, plus today and the weekend is too much, but will load up with liquids and vitamins, flax seed oil too, then a good meal after the workout session. And some heavy drinking later in the night unless I can't handle more than 3 shots of whiskey. I am now up to 70kg for the shoulder press, and was at 90kg around 3 years ago. Doing 20 non-stop shaky dips, while before was 50. 10 pull ups while 20 before, so I am returning back to my old body. I think a month and a half will be enough for me to be in shape I was.
  24. Naw, bypassing the throttle body coolant won't cause such thing. Although, if it is in the winter, I fear that it might get stuck frozen open from cold air. No problems for me in this tropical island. Perhaps you had a bad batch of fuel? 16 oz. of toluene will fix it (or much more) unless it is illegal to add such additive to the fuel.
  25. I go for 8 reps with 5 sets. Heavy stuff are 5 reps and 5 sets. I used to do 10 reps with 3 sets but I respond better to 8*5 and 5*5.
