  1. No....... Just painted in two pack but if you ever get them repainted, make sure they flatten the clear-coat. Originally they were not real glossy, probably semi gloss. I was lucky because I had a telescopic golf ball retriever which was IDENTICAL in colour and texture to the original wheels. They painted them to match that. It was in my car when I helped my son get tyres on his car. A V-spec 1 was parked in the tyre centre and I got it out and put it next to the wheels. They must of thought I was mad but I didn't care. I just wanted the wheels done in the correct finish and colour. Some refer to the flatter look as an "Egg Shell" finish. Yeah....... I'm not a fan of darker wheels. I'm too old school........ Bob.
  2. Whilst mine has the N1 inserts, I not really a fan. I can't justify sourcing another bar and I've just repainted it anyway so I'm just going to have to put up with it. Here are a few better pics than on Thursday. You can compare the before and after wheel refurb. Darker back to stock silver. Cheers, Bob.
  3. Hi Guys, Bit of an update although the lack of light beat me so the pics are poor. After a bit over two weeks, the car's back from the panel shop and I'm really pleased. They looked after me really well. I'll post up some more detailed pics over the weekend but at least the front now looks half reasonable. It was really a dogs breakfast when I got it. All the correct badging is back on the car and I got the rear wheels on. More in a few days...... Bob.
  4. It was a $55K-$60K car all day long...... Buyer got a great deal. I had a mate who needed his property sold to bid but ufortunately missed out by 8 days. He said he would of bid up to $57K. That gives you an idea anyway. Bob.
  5. A 30,000km car was sold last November at Shannons. Excellent car but the chances of seeing another one like that is slim......... BUT....... You just never know what can pop up and when. Bob.
  6. All you need is a Channel 9 business card from someone who matters and politely hand it to him when you next meet. I guarantee you, your deposit will reappear very quickly.......
  7. Hi Terry......... Could you please put me down for this event. Many thanks, Bob.
  8. Good news......... My wheels came back from the wheel repairer. Really happy...... Perfect colour and egg shell finish as I requested per original. Fitting brand new Bridgestone RE002's in 245/45/17's as per OEM early next week. BTW.... If any of you guys are thinking of buying tyres, now is the time to do it. Bridgestone are running a special. My tyres in that size are normally $279.00. Got them for $225.00, but it gets better than that. Until April 12, if you buy 3 you get the 4th for FREE!!!!!!!! Normal price for 4 tyres - $1116.00 Special price/promotion for 4 tyres until April 12 - $675.00 fitted and balanced. Huge difference........ Cheers.......Bob.
  9. I think your expectations are quite reasonable. I own an ADM and yes it's in a totally different price point but I did buy a V-spec 2 a couple of weeks ago along a very similar budget. There is so much junk out there it's ridiculous. I am restoring mine as originality is priority on my ADM and the VS2 is purely a fun weekend car. I didn't want two cars that do my head in. This one doesn't quite fit your criteria but a lovely car none the less - http://www.best-r.com/create/gallery.php?&id=305 You could land this for under $30K, convert it back to stock and sell all the aftermarket goodies. Quite doable just time consuming. Bob.
  10. LOL........ Yes of course! I needed something on the car whilst my original wheels are getting repainted. I can see myself tinkering with these cars for years to come so a spare set of wheels will come in handy. They only cost me $250.00 complete with tyres. They are hacked up bad and I felt like a real bogan driving to the panel shop yesterday but these are the sacrifices we need to make. At least the wheels and body work are being done at the same time with different repairers. Bob.
  11. Yes mate........ Forum member PM'd me and I bought it. They need a band expander to pick up all our FM channels and double diversity male and female connectors. With the aerial being in the front screen, the reception can be a bit inconsistent. It's great to have but I'm tempted to put the ADM Clarion unit in. It was what they fitted to the Aussie delivered cars straight out of the Maxima's. That way it's period correct and looks stock but works a lot better. Bob.
  12. Yes mate........ Had to be silver........ Spark Silver to be exact.. She needs a fair bit of TLC which is slowly coming together. She's OK but not in the same league as your car or my ADM but at least I don't have to be precious about it and can just hop in and enjoy. Unigroup did a good job on the mechanicals. Ran 271rwkw's which is no record breaker but brisk non the less. I'm expecting to have stage one completed by Easter, and then finally completed by the end of September. It's at my panel beaters now getting a once over and the wheels are at the Wheel Repairman getting painted the correct colour. It goes to my trimmers on April 10 to be completed by the end of that week and then then the exhaust shop to realign the rear pipe. I like them coming out dead straight and this ones on an angle to the left. I'll then detail the sh!t out of it over Easter which will then do until later in the year. WE NEED TO ORGANISE A GET TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!! Cheers...... Bob. 13. I can't specify an exact amount as it's all included in the overall bill. They powder coated all the engine covers and the top of the radiator including new rocker cover badge. Replaced all the blue silicon hoses with black ones. Blacked out the intercooler hard pipe kit. Swapped out the air box which for another which I had that was in better condition. Made the OEM boost control solenoid look activated..... Which it isn't. Then there are all new hoses belts, fluids etc etc........ Bob.
  14. Cool....... I'm looking forward to this event. My newly acquired V-spec 2 should be ready by then and I'll probably have a few spare parts for sale too. Cheers, Bob.
  15. Ok......... A bit of an update. The car spent a week or so at Unigroup Engineering where Mark and Yavus tidied up the engine bay and tuned the car. The first and second pic is a before and after of the engine bay. The next pics are a tidy up of the stereo, dash and gear knob and boot surround. The last pic shows the car with a set of Ford Falcon BA XR8 17" wheels. The 17" BBS wheels are at the painter getting repainted in the correct colour. The car has gone to my panel show for all the cosmetic upgrades. I want it back by the end of next week. Just have to see how she goes. Bob.
  16. No it's not.. The one I bought was at North Rocks NSW. Which one were/are you looking at?
  17. Sorry....... Are you referring to the car I bought or another one? The ad shouldn't be on Carsales........ Bob.
  18. Thanks mate but another forum member PM'd me with the smaller ones which I slightly prefer. Thanks anyway. Regards, Bob.
  19. I was lucky enough with my last car to have Duncan swap over the dash for me as the original had the treaded bubble. Horrible job...... Like one big jigsaw puzzle. I made sure I wasn't going to buy a car with the bubble this time. It was a deal breaker for me. Bob.
  20. I'm after the mud splat type piece that sits on the back of the rear wheel guards. Some call them pods but they are basically moulded splash guards. The attached pic is of the bigger style but the smaller ones are ok too. Thanks, Bob.
  21. Mate...... I'm after the mud splat type piece that sits on the back of the rear wheel guards. Some call them pods but they are basically moulded splash guards. The attached pic is of the bigger style but the smaller ones are ok too. Any luck with these? Thanks, Bob.
  22. Yeah..... I agree with you. I prefer the original unpainted look too but I need to be disciplined with this car. I can't justify spending another $350.00 with no return. I'd rather put that money towards the painting of the wheels. Bob.
  23. Thanks mate...... Owning an ADM and a V-spec 2 is quite a privilege. Cheers, Bob.
  24. I have a pair of stock R32 ones if that's of any use?
  25. It's been painted a very dark grey.......Yes, it should be a natural unpainted grey but I think with the N1 inserts it will look the best painted. I considered buying a new one but at $450 it's just not worth it. The existing one does haves scratches so at least it can be filled and sanded, then painted. The only other option is to paint it the original natural grey. I'm still thinking about that. Bob.
