R32 Gtr, R33 Gtr Or R34 Gtt
jazza08 replied to GTAAAH's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Yeh 34's look sh*t hot hhehe 300-400rwhp will be fairly streetable if you have an ok suspension etc set-up Don't expect any grip in 1st and not much in 2nd even with new 265s on the back.. Anything more won't be really.. and your talkin rb30 block etc, you wouldn't bother with that unless your goin 400++rwhp! -

If your not happy with 300-400ish rwhp don't bother with a gt-t. Engine transplant is too much hassel unless your chasin 400+rwhp. If you want more than that go a GTR simply for the grip point of view with fat tyres all round and awd you'll actually get some traction! -

Then do a search, coz there's a thread on that exact comparison! 32R vs 34 gt-t, think the 34 had more votes but it was very close, you decide if you want down right performance with the R32 or abit more luxury and comfort with decent performance on the side bein the R34! -

Someone went off-topic on the GTR onto the GTST's. So i was refering to the rb20 vs rb25 in which i dont believe an rb25 is any stronger from owning both an rb20, rb25 and neo rb25. In regards to the GTR i can't say i know from expierance but ive seen alot less r33 rb26's pop than the r32 rb26s thats for sure.. lol Won't get dragged off-topic from now on sorry -

Agreed with above comments on 34 interior. R33s dont have a stronger motor, more powerful yes. I dont think there's much in the interior's, the 33 is too spacey for my liking but yes its a good point its a newer car thus will always have less problems unless the r32 has been built (not just the motor). -
Nice way to ruin the thread boys hahaha Theres too many 4 door's, they'll ruin the prestige of the car like they did the r32 if they keep coming in like they are now!

I had this decision, built 32R, lightly modedd 33R or lightly moded 34T and went the 34 gt-t due to age and the fact its still a quick cruiser. I can say in terms of grip the 33 gtr is amazing! Whilst the 32 gtr isn't far behind (older diffs, slower computers etc) and is slightly quicker down the 1/4. Im happy with the choice i made, but if you want a real fast car you can't really go past a gtr, its got grip (more than a gt-t will ever know) and more power to it, it just feels alittle bit less chuckable, but you take a corner and your like wow did it just do that corner that easy.. least thats the impression ive had in the gtr's ive been in (decent tires/suspension etc). Id probably lean to a 32 gtr thats had alot of money spent on it if i was you, just so in future you don't have ALL of the costs or the 34 gt-t if you want some more comfort to cruise with. Btw if you search there's alot of comparison threads going around, i know i posted in a few of them! hehe -
Hey peeps I was sent an incorrect short shifter kit for my R34, i was sent one for an R33 and it didn't fit. Im looking for an R34 one! If anyone has any information or one available pm me or email me on [email protected] Thanks all Jaz

Have You Upgraded To A R34 From A R33?

Running 10s is all about not being afraid to spend coin, regardless of rb25 or rb26, its just easier with the 26 and AWD! -

Ive owned 32 gtst, 33 gtst and now 34 gtt, so that doesn't apply to me. My preference goes 34 gt-t, 32 gtst and then 33 gtst. I do agree you can save yourself alot of money and mod the 33 or have a stock 34... but in the long term the 34 is a much better option. Just don't get a friggen 4 door i hate those things lmao *no offense indended to 4 door owners* -
Nah thats the original place dude

32 feels very small, 34 feels fairly comfortable, 33 feels like a bloody family car! hahahah Each to their own but the 34 is more compact inside than the 33 is. I even had gauges etc in the 33 sittin on the pillar etc and it still felt much more spacey than the 34 does. Drive a 34 before you even think about making a decision, you'll understand what ppl mean after you do that -

Wierd! Over here 32 gtst's and 33 gtst's can be similar in price when they are similar in condition/mods. Generally series 2 r33s will go for abit more, but you can import them for SFA. You don't pay the tax's/duties we do on the car's, hints the awsome prices! NZ car prices for the win hehe -

Yeh i 2nd that call hahaha Prices on all the models have dropped heaps! Its just funny that R32s and R33s are similar in price lol -
Even if the car did have a big detionation, its still running fine so i wouldn't be worried about it. I had knock of 152 once... i think i got a stone in the engine bay hahahah You only need to worry if knock is going above 40+ like everytime you drive, then you'd need the tune looked at, under 15 is very safe, tuned fairly softly

$350 to fit a timing belt, fuel pump, change oil/filter and coolant... Thats a pretty good price. And only $160 to fit and dyno tune an SAFC2, thats pretty damn cheap!
