As far as i know, a stock SS against a stock R33 GTS-T would be pretty even. Both low 6 seconds 0 - 100. Both manual and decent drivers i don't see much in it at all. cheers. oh yeah, i don't think i can add anymore variants, maybe BMW's? 325i, 330i, M3? - GTS, GTS-T, GT-R - 147kw, 170kw, 256kw. 530i, 545i, M5? - GTS, GTS-T, GT-R - 170kw, 245kw, 298kw. cheers

US Version of Rice... Mustang Style (56k warning)
SS8_Gohan replied to meshmesh's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The current Mustangs are hella popular in the US/North America. ABsolutely everywhere. More power than SS, and pushing some of the HSV's. I would assume lighter as well. Seem to be a pretty wide range as well. Looked like diff spec V8's, Convertibles, etc. I would have thought the current Mustang would do quite well here?? i think it looks phat, especially the side exhaust. would those pass the dB test?? -
what's happening in september?? should have had the R34 for a little bit by then and yeah strike bowling would be awesome! i heard $2 pots?? What about a Wednesday for people? I think that's the $2 pots night. And i guess you can't get much more central than the CBD. Pretty close to Melb Central station for those not driving. and doesn't just everyone have race and street rims!, i mean, get with it! cheers

Yeah i think better with the slight photochop upgrades. I think they could slim down the rear lights a bit, make them more slim-line. hahah, i remember that vid. The Mustang limited edition GTR with rotary and pistons. Since when did Mustang have a GT-R variant?? Is this something knew or they've had them for yonks? shit loads of Mustangs in Nth America currently. Real popular. Saw one crazy one called a Mach 1 or something like that, couldn't see the badge properly. Sounded mental and looked like stock twin exhaust. Twas white with black strips on the side and looked like black rims as well.

I like the pretty stuff Hopefully will be heading down 3D Animation, Post Production path... anyone know anything bout those areas? To the dude who tests Vision Plus?? I work at the ANZ, and we use a thing called Vision Plus (as well as Windows 2K for OS) and it's THE most ghetto thing ever! Looks like it belongs in the 80's.

Where to buy Xenons "globes" from?
SS8_Gohan replied to meshmesh's topic in General Automotive Discussion
hey mesh, in a thread a couple of weeks ago i came across this site: http://www.globalpremier.com But seemed to be ridiculously cheap globes. I think you need to find out the "specs" about the globes you got. I don't know what sort of details you need though. Also ylwgtr (troy) maybe able to get them for you as well. I heard $250 a pair?? Might be very wrong with that, cos at the above site i saw some for like $12? I have no idea what's going on, but hopefully that helps a bit. cheers. -
no no, whore away!! what was in this hot4's article?

hey ppls EDIT: ok now

Yeah, N.Z. got everthing, Series 1 and 2. Difference being: SII got a bit more torque, Helical LSD instead of viscous (or other way round), Diff interior trimming (steering wheel, etc, two-tone) Darker rims (more GTR colour rims), Different front bar. I think that's about it. cheers.

R34 GT-T owners, insurance quote...
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
No wuckez Yotis. I must admit haven't tried Shannons but have heard that not that best if >25. But i'll give them a call. I'm not rating one yet. (20yr old, 2 yrs hist) will be Rating 3 with AAMI in bout a month, but Just Cars would just go Rating 4. Jade: Yeah, it seems to be a pretty good quote in comparison. When am i getting it? Good question, hopefully i'll be giving J-Spec a call this week to get everything rolling. So from there, who knows... 6 weeks? Could get lengthy with SEVS... KamikazeR33: Yeah, VERY VERY recent change. Apparently in the last few weeks FAMOUS DON'T INSURE UNDER 21'S - there reason was too many claims from this age bracket. I'm 21 Nov 28th, but it was a little too long for them to insure me under 21. They were friendly, and tried to see if they could, but couldn't in the end. cheers for the help gals and guys! -
Post a reply, don't do a quick reply. Look for the "Additional Options" box and click on the "manage attachments" button. Should be able to browse for the pic on your computer and then click ok. The pic will be attached to the post. hope that helps, cheers.

Xenon conversion in a Series 2 R33 Gts-t
SS8_Gohan replied to uneekwahn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
ok, why are the bulbs at the site so friggen cheap? I was asking about getting some Xenon bulbs for a R34 if the original ones are destroyed in compliance (also assuming they leave the xenon assembly in as well), and ppl were saying around $250-500 just for a pair of globes?? -
just bought my new car..wot ya reakon
SS8_Gohan replied to !3oost's topic in General Automotive Discussion

R34 GT-T owners, insurance quote...
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yep Just Cars, i just wish they had monthly payments. cobo: yep makes sense dude. Your insurance history is still counted when you move to full comp, if you've been on 3rd party. Which is good, but for a R34 i don't want to go 3rd party. Maybe if i wasn't spend as much. Yotis, that's a nice premium you've got there. Looks like those who have a good driving history are looked after It's annoying tho when my dad is paying like $800 for a $100k car! hehe, oh well. It's not that fact that i can't afford the insurance, that isn't the problem. I just wanted to know if i was getting a reasonable quote compared to other young/R34 owners. And it seems i am, so i'm going to go with it. Blizt1911: I know the problem dude. I was ringin around when i was 18, checking out insurance for a R33. $5K was a pretty popular price. I think i managed to get a $3.5K somewhere, might have been Just Cars. It seems there is a massive price diff between 18 and 20. It's pretty much halved, or drop $1k. That's about the only plus side, like redline was saying, the premium does seem to go down quite quickly year to year, if you don't drive like an idiot. I think it's a bit of guilty until proven innocent. Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated. -
howdy peeps! just doing the old run around for insurance, and the never ending "we don't do imports". well friggen BMW's are imported!! Anyways, i'm 20, 2 yrs hist, no accidents, claims, fines, etc. nothing. touch wood. I got a quote from a company for $2473. For the R34 GT-T owners, especially the youngin's, is this reasonable? I tried Famous but no can do until i'm 21. Downside is that they dont' do montly payments so i have to fork it out all at once, but i just want to know is this a reasonable amount compared to other GT-T owners, or 20 yrs olds. Insurance is pretty much the last hurdle. cheers ppls!

R33,34 / R32 Attessa, Hicas And Torque Split
SS8_Gohan replied to GTR32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ok i just read it, he did change some suspension items. I was just looking at the first pic anyways, i hope you could follow the explanation. It seems to be what you wanted, and it sounds awesome. If i ever get an 'R' i might have to give it a try. I very, VERY much like the idea of being able to change the settings of the torque split for wet or dry conditions. Great idea. Altho i know very, very little about how ATTESSA works or suspension for that matter. anyways, i think the guy didn't realise that GT-R's from the factory always had had the oversteer character. I guess that's just the way Nissan wants them or makes them. Well that's what i've always heard. hope the article helps. cheers. -
R33,34 / R32 Attessa, Hicas And Torque Split
SS8_Gohan replied to GTR32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
found it, http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_0060/article.html i think the owner could have just changed the suspenion a bit as well if he wasn't happy. Judging from the pic, looks like he wanted to go four wheel driving.
