  1. That sucks, i hope it didn't cost you too much to get it re-rebuilt!!!
  2. I would be keen except for reading into the other thread going around atm about without a sump baffle its a big no no to take your GTR on the track.. snowman - do you have one?
  3. I dig it, group buy
  4. New twinplate is going in soon hopefully then gotta get camber on front wheels adjusted/fix and some whiteline swaybars... and then might try some of the hancook k104s for now then i'll be looking at oil cooler/sump/boost controller... never ending pit of money, as long as we realise its a hobby and not an investment, it's all good Dean - which car will you be taking and where?
  5. Hhaha sorry guys, i did actually end up selling this thats why its blank i took it off there, just didn't get any interest on here (didn't expect to) so didn't bother updating it... I advertsied it for 11,900, first guy to see it offered me 11,200 and i accepted it... was happy with it, but he got a good car, i looked after it well
  6. Yeah mines still going strong, but its not really ready for track tho - i think i need a sump baffle and oil cooler, and probably wind the boost down to take it onto the track (as you have told me dean) Still haven't taken it to the 1/4 yet - i'm slack, and i'm scared i won't run an 11
  7. knore - thanks for the reply but didn't really answer either of my questions
  8. How much would it cost for a baffle sump + install (in an R33GTR) ? Does the engine have to come out?
  9. Sorry if this is a dumb question, What is a baffle kit? what does it do? I'm guessing something to do with stopping oil getting splashed around to places it shouldn't and causing the sump to run dry?
  10. my gf paid 18k for her 96 s2 r33 non turbo auto, tried to tell her it was too much but she liked the car, o well - on the plus it is one of the cleanest skylines i've seen... GL with the sale, perfect nice first car!
  11. i belive a rb26 with standard internals can hold 320-350rwkw, if its just a daily driver and not track driven, then i think it should handle 350rwkw without touching internals... this is what i've been told - not from experience
  12. standard engine/turbos/fuel system is what i take it as
  13. I should be right for the cruise
  14. It wouldn't be safe to run that kind of boost constantly - ie on track or driving hard through windy roads... not sure how safe it is for short bursts.... most people seem to run 1bar, but even that isn't safe to run on a track
  15. Ahhh cool thanks Nugget, will look next time i'm in the gf's car, thought it should be something simple
  16. It is the sound like a truck, but not for outside the car, its inside the car
  17. I think its larger/better quality magnets behind the speaker, not sure, but it seems common in speakers, the heavier/larger the magnets/stuff is behind the speaker, in regards to subs, or normal drivers (house or car etc..), the better quality... Also this may help a little - http://ccs.exl.info/sp_wiring.html
  18. Yeah, this is all very interesting to me, if he hadn't brought this thread back up i would never of found it... What happened with your custom torque splitter Mike?
  19. Yeah i'm interested as well, what kind of boost are you running on the 33GTR to get that time? Well done btw
  20. benm - there is a video of a mines GTR going around the track driven by jap drivers going "holly shittt this is fast" "too fast" the response on it is crazy... That car has a lightweight drivetrain... ie light wheels, light flywheel, carbon propshaft etc.. anything in the drive train lightened to help increase response i also remember sydneykid and someone else talking about the benifits of lightening certain parts of your drivetrain, and what benifit each has - its in here somewhere
  21. Yeah i sleep with my keys in my room, also have a pager setup for my car alarm, other custom security mods, The most likely way for it to be stolen is via tow truck... but honestly, getting it stolen to me isn't as bad as having it keyed/wheels stolen etc... thats what worries me the most wheels = 3k keyed = respray = 3-4k? its at the point where its not worth claming on insurance because rating will go up, premium will go up + pay excess.. at least if its stolen/written of, you get paid out and you can buy another, your not as much out of pocket, i dunno
  22. my 33GTR with exhaust and boost makes closer to 270rwkw How do R34 GTR's make more? its the same engine...?
  23. Thats pretty bad, air filters are there for a reason, i'd get one asap
  24. Ohms is the loading the amp/speaker... and the way you wire it up.. Good amps (expensive) can be stable down to lower ohms - 1ohm stable .5 ohm stable etc.. means you can power more things off it (now i get mixed up here) parrellel and series, one makes the ohms load go one way and the other the other way ie 2 4 ohm speakers wired in parrellel will cause a 2ohm load to be put on the amp ( i think ) 2 4 ohm speakers wired in series will cause a 8 ohm load to be put on the amp ( one way or the other ) not sure which is better/whey but i'm sure fhrx can tell us As for that clarion unit, not sure - its bound to be good, i have the 835 cd/mp3/wma player (no screen since i find i have enough trouble keeping the car on the road without trying to watch tv) and i really thought it came down to wank factor, in a skyline anyway since its not a cruising/luxary car ...
  25. Naa its not the same as leaving your lights on ( I don't think ) its much more annoying/different sound... whats a cowl? When you say on the back of the instrument console - is that the speedo/rpm cluster? Cant belive that no one else with an auto hasn't cut the bloody thing
