  2. I found out that if you unplug the water temp sensor (for the ecu, not the gauge) it does the same thing as when the intermittent fault happens so I would recommend changing that plus the air intake temp sensor on the plenum.
  3. How to fix the door mode actuator. Make sure that the yellowy gear of the worm drive spins freely. Mine was tight on the shaft and the motor wasn't able to spin everything. The bore is 3.5mm so if you run a 3.5mm drill through the hole in the gear it should open up the hole enough otherwise you will need to polish it out with some 400grit wet and dry paper rolled into a tube. It takes a bit of time but it fixes the problem. Also, before pulling the actuator arm off the actuator unit, mark the orientation of the arm to the shaft with a permanent marker somehow so that it makes reassembly easier. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/72809-c-mode-door-actuator-rebuild.html
  4. Its the AFM's. Mine started doing the problem again but not as often. The AFM's are old, that's pretty much it. Need to find someone who can repair these things.
  5. bump. Make a reasonable offer if your interested.
  6. Registration ends April 2014 The brake lights are fully functional now Will throw in the following if it goes for $15k Nistune chip (with license), R32 GTR ECU, Tomei dumps and R32 GTR 02 sensors so the car can be retuned. GKTech upper arms and traction rods.
  7. Yes, it is a Performance Metalcraft sump. Good enough for a weapon GTR, good enough for anyone.
  8. R32 GTR sump with an extended pan and baffles. Unsure of capacity, about 8 litres. Came of the BSM R32 GTR (spare sump), needs a donor sump for the diff parts, I can supply one too. http://imageshack.us/g/834/08022012190.jpg/ $850 R32 GTR complete sump $150 Budget about $40 for postage. Pickup available from Quakers Hill, NSW. Josh
  9. I have a standard air box. I fixed the problem. It was the AFM's. They had been resoldered in the past but 2 joints weren't done very well. So I redid all of them. Voila! Fixed! Hasn't played up in a week. Before it was doing it every trip, even short ones. I should mention I changed plugs at the same time as my old ones were worn, and I made sure the coil pack earths were clean, which they still were from last time I cleaned them. But I am pretty sure they had nothing to do with it as the car was running fine before it would drop to low boost.
  10. After a set of R32 GTR bilsteins, preferably a set of the Sydneykid ones if someone wants to offload them, but the normal ones are fine. Josh
  11. I am getting the same things as the OP. I have a R32 GTR with a R33 GTR engine and ecu. When it happens, I stop. Turn the car off. Turn the car on after 2secs and its back to normal. Everything is stock except for exhaust and boost restrictor removed. I tried another standard solenoid and had the same problem. The solenoid is normally open at idle then when you apply throttle it switch's off OR its the other way around. I have also tested the solenoid with a 12v power source, its fine. When the fault happens the solenoid no longer changes its state until I turn the car off and turn it on again. My train of thought is something electrical is putting out a signal that is making the ecu think something is wrong when its an intermittent fault, which explains why when you turn it back on, all is good. I will put some new plugs in, check the coils external physical condition, check the soldering job in the AFM's and check various connectors for bad earths and corrosion. This seems to be a common problem with GTR's but I haven't been able to find a fix for the problem. The best suggestion was to check earths and for corrosion in plugs.
  12. 1989 R32 GTR for sale I have owned it for approximately 5 years now. I bought it without a running engine. Then about a year and a half ago I bought a second hand engine for it and got it running. Now I am in between jobs with not a lot of money, I could use a car that handles the bumps in the roads a little bit better and would be better off with something for doing shuttle runs on bicycles with my friends. It has been a reliable car that I have had a lot of fun driving but it is time for it to go. What it’s got: R33 GTR engine. I have only used Castrol Edge Titanium 5w30, which has been changed (along with Ryco oil, fuel and air filters) every 5000kms religiously. I also only ever fill it up with BP Ultimate and as a result get about 480kn’s to a tank as I drive like a granny. OS Giken gearbox box internals. Box was rebuilt 30 000kms ago. OS Giken gears 1 – 4 with standard 5th gear. OS Giken 5th gears will come with the car. Currently has Redline Lightweight Shockproof oil in the gearbox. Genuine 18 x 9.5 Enkei RPf1’s spaced out 35mm. The spacers were modified to locate the wheel properly so that the studs aren’t being bent and the wheels run true when mounted to the car. Tyres are Falken FK452 275/40R18 99Y. Heaps of grip wet and dry, approximately 70% of tread left. Alpine CDE-126BT headset with IPOD cable, Bluetooth and USB capability. Kenwood 6” speakers securely mounted front and rear with brand new wiring to all of the speakers. The sound for a basic sound system is fantastic and surprises people, some who have spent a lot more and gotten a lot less in sound quality. Has a basic 4WD controller that boosts the standard signal, turn the knob clockwise, more 4WD. Simple but extremely effective. 350mm deep dish steering wheel, ebay special, feels nice to drive with. It has had a full respray 13 months ago. I guy drove in front of me through a roundabout and we collided. No structural damage, just cosmetic. I didn’t like how much different the rest of the original paint looked compared to the new paint so I went for a full respray. Garage Defend fibreglass cooling panel UAS pivoting arms JIC rose jointed castor/tension rods Has the ability to take a single bike on the back using a Gripsport bike rack. The rack takes a second bike but a proper mount will need to be fabricated as the current one will not take the load of 2 bikes. It’s all legal too. The rack is an optional extra at $400. Problems: Back left brake light doesn’t work. It should be a simple job for an auto electrician to fix. 2 small spots of surface rust, can be seen in pictures. Front splitter damaged needs fixing/replacing and painting Front guards need painting. The paint cracked while I was flaring and rolling the lip on the guards. Paint code can be supplied It needs the side skirts installed and painted. The side skirts are JSAI fibreglass N1 replicas. There is some small damage to the seats as shown in the pictures. Has no AC. The box is in under the dash though. The car never had it when I got it. The timing belt needs changing. The belt, tensioners, a water pump and new radiator hoses are included with the car. It just needs doing and I don’t have the money to pay someone to do it at the moment. Price is $15000, non negotiable. I am hoping for a quick sale. Registration ends in April. PICS http://imageshack.us/g/1/9986492/ If you wish to view the car in person please contact me via PM. Josh Kemp
