  1. Blue bird crossmember bolts straight into an R30 they have rack and pinion however it is manual not power steer and they have the same strut to strut distance. I am currently searching for a power steer rack that can be used needs to be the perfect length, then just need to figure out a steering coupling. I have heard of r31 and s14 racks being used in blueys with slight mods to fit so I am going to go give these a measure to see how these will go.
  2. I got quoted $2600 for the whole kit to melb, then there would just be the cost of shipping from melb to adelaide, no more then a couple of hundred. You should be able to get a better price somewhere.
  3. I too have been looking at importing kit parts. It would equal to about a bit over $800 for each. Maybe one day after I build my motor I will actually buy something.
  4. Both thoughts I have had. Seeing as how my DR is in a million pieces I think I will have to get a tape measure out and do a whole heap of measuring.
  5. Well on my DR I still have full s13 shock absorber stroke I dunno if it's less then an R30's stroke but it's more then enough for usual street needs. The springs in my setup are stupidly stiff but thats what my setup comes down to. I havent really set it up for street needs more for drift but thats just me, s13 coilovers can be had in pretty much any spring rate with decent shockers, I or any of my mates running them havent had any problems, maybe if you were setting up a fully track prep'd car that may be a different story.
  6. How was the 5 stud conversion done? I have been looking into it for a little bit and can't figure it out. Even though I have massive 4 stud wheels coming in it would be nice to know.
  7. Hehehe Thats why I am looking into a R31 crossmemeber with rack and pinion steering and making engine mounts from there. Can anyone else tell me if a r31 cross member fits??? (or else it will be all custom) I want rack and peanut damn it. It's not like everything else in my car isnt custom it just would be nice if something fitted good for a change might have to go to u-pull-it for a measure. :chairshot
  8. There are quite a few people doing this type of thing these days. I currently have a set on there way in for my DR, work meister s2 17 x 9, 17 x 10 in 4 stud :werd: . You just have to be prepared to wait a couple of months for them to get here.

  10. I know what ya mean but to start with a car like that would be so much better, already has built motor, after market comp and sus done. SO all ya have to do is improve on the base ya start with, rather then blow the amount money I have already just to get to the point where that car is at. That has got pretty much every thing that I am currently doing to my car minus a thing or 2. :uh-huh:
  11. Translator Considering that I'm up around the 20k mark I think it could have been a better option. So much cool stuff pops up those auctions, like my wheels.
  12. I wish I had a DR like THIS HERE imported for me rather then a dead stocker. I would have saved myself so much money.
  13. I spotted that one on yahoo the other day. L28 stroked to 3.1, dry sump setup, triple webbers, s13 sus from what I could make of the translation. I have seen those wide body gaurds in use on another white DR and it look horrid but actually looks half decent on that car, at least it would make fitting my 17 x 10's a lot easier. I have also recently got prices for that kit not including the wide gaurds and for $2500 it could be yours. For anyone interested the jenesis website has been updated and the last week with nice new pics of DR30's in japan, including one very nice looking purple one :werd:
  14. R30 ball joints were $190 for 2 all on new arms so they aint that expensive. And before you go looking s13 steering arms are completely different without a chance of fitting, I have already checked that avenue. Now for my next trial fit s13 rear cradle with adjustable everything, I reckon it can be done I just dont know how hard it would be.
  15. hrrmmm maybe I'm wrong, mine fit nice though.
  16. Nope r30 is straight, s13 is tapered. R30 just has a wider top to it hence the reason why it doesnt go the whole way through. Been there done that :headbang: arm needs hole opened out and I'd be doing it a bit more acurate then with a grinding tool.
  17. I think you will find that the s13 runs a tapered tie rod where the r30 runs a straight one. So they will need to be drilled out, I reamed mine for a nice tight fit.
  18. I folded a wheel under my car putting it up a curb. I just payed a visit to jaustech they had a couple of arms laying round $150 which was a bit sore on the old pocket though. However since then I have had a bit of a look at the wreckers and so on and from what I can see the mr30 sedan disk rear end is wrong on the caliper to rotor offset, however hatch back rear calipers fit on the rear DR30 arm and disc assembly which leads me to believe the hatch rear arms will fit up no worries, how ever I have never actually tried. If that makes any sense to you.
  19. All the sways bars whiteline have advertised for r30's are smaller than my standard DR30 bars, however they will make customs bars for a little extra cost.
  20. Yup 2 door lids are longer, hence the reason jaustech wanted $500 for one when mick stoved his DR.
  21. Tom's car has been slammed for almost as long as he has owned it 2 years now, I know because he got his the same week mine got complied. He has had one defect for bald tyres which he got of at the cop shop no worries. Cops looked at my car a lot the day I drove it round with the gearbox and rails 50mm off the ground but that was just stupid and I didnt have the c-spanners to adjust my coil overs. I reckon my car got complied a lot lower than your car
  22. This car right here , tow bar and all. This was from the drift practise day on monday just gone. I know it made 238 not long ago but was having heaps of trouble with blowing up computers.
  23. It quite possibly could have been?? haven't heard a word about it how ever. Was it white absolutely dumped with 1800-nothing-suss stickers on it? I think there may have been a rally on over that weekend though because I heard this weekend he finished 1st over all in his newly aquired evo 8, not sure if that was this week or the week before. Spewin if it is.
  24. Yep i'd say Tom too I'm good mates with him, however I didnt see the show. Adam my DR sits a bit lower then Tom's. I want his number plates. Last I heard it made a bit over 200rwkw, however it wasnt back when that comp was on, it was still at around 140.
  25. That would be the same as my setup FOUND HERE With the strut tops all ya really need to do is elongate the 3 holes for adjustment in the other direction to give you negative camber. Either that or as I am kinda thinking of doing and extend control arms. For all playing around with standard brakes have fun with it. Ghostrider and I will be off enjoying our BIG brakes.
