  1. I know for a fact my standard DR brakes wouldn't have been able to do a continuse 5 laps of damn hard driving round mallala. I love my 4 pots and 300mm rotors and wouldnt go back to standard for any reason, except a defect.

  3. Well sitting here I have 13 x 5.5" enkeis (watanabe look alikes), a crap BOV, and a boost gauge ready to go in over the weekend along with a cut and polish and a lowering job. It's getting an exhaust next week at some point (cheap cheap).
  4. My old daily aus spec mr30 had over 350 000KM on the clock, it blew a bit of smoke but still went pretty damn hard and started first time every time.

My car is no where near finished, I keep wasting money on stupid things like alto's (you wait till you see it next adam it's had a few mods) all I need now is ebc, computer, motor rebuilt and a slap of paint, and she'll be good to go. I'm in no rush. You know your gonna have to take me for a strap crimmo, I wanna experience a fast DR.

  8. SR is like 18KG lighter than an FJ from the specs I have seen so you wouldnt even notice. And from experience now I can personally say CA's are really really crap, SR out of the 2, but FJ before anything else

  10. Oil pumps are damn expensive as they are part of the timing cover. Go down to unley nissan for spare parts they are real good, thats were me and pretty much everyone I know with DR's gets there FJ bits and pieces from, if they dont have the bits they get them sent over from japan. I'm planning on ringing around for forged pistons and a copper head gasket tomorrow along with a few other nice bits and pieces.
  11. For a 2 door of it's size there is heaps of room in the back, my mate sat in the back comfortably the whole way to melbourne. Mine has hatch belts in the back of it, I have just recently ripped everything possible out of the car, and cant for the life of me remeber how they were mounted, I'll have a look for ya tomorrow if I can find it all.
  12. yup mine havent worked the whole time I have owned my DR, I just bypass the sensor so they were running all the time. Not the best way to do it but will do till I get it fixed.
  13. I was once told by a local nissan wrecker that my car was a DR30 but it must have had a HR31 front end transplant because r30's never came out with that style of front end, as soon as they said that I just walked out the store.
  14. I love the fact that no-one recognises what it is apart from people that actually know what they are on about, although having R31 written on my dyno sheets does give me the shits.
  15. Yes I have done the conversion myself and yes I am running standard control arms.
  16. Too long???? Just fine on my car. Ya just need to wind out the tie rod ends a bit and she'll be fine. Another thing you may find you need to do is drill out where the tie rod goes through the stub axle as r30's have a straight joint and the s13 one is tapered, so ya need to clear out the taper.
  17. yup just about every DR I know of has shit vision on low beams just one of those things it seems.

  19. Yup thats the go, a stuffed injector, can happen to the best of us. I even had it up on a dyno and it wasn't running dangerously lean or anything. Meh good enough reason for some more power.
  20. I have seen a few DR's pop up on yahoo auctions with the SR set up with a power FC. Seemed very interesting.
  21. All will need to be done at once. Or you could probably pick up s13 brakes cheap as chips to if ya dont wann fork out for bigger brakes straight up.
  22. Yay I'm up for all these costs plus more. After managing to put a piston through my turbo and stuffing my head.
  23. Hrmm well my DR was fairly standard and was very possible of power sliding out of corners in 3rd gear, would loose the rear end very easily. Could maybe have something to do with the suspension setup though, hehehe.
  24. My bet would be that your alternator will give way in couple of weeks time. Thats what happened with mine, I believe boof has gone through a few too.
