Got my copy on ps3 at lunch time. Half day off work and managed to get thru the intro level before having to take the mrs to doctors. Spewing. Initial thoughts are great, driving feels solid, gunfights are cool. Theres a cover feature so u can hide behind pillars etc. Auto lock on targets makes it a bit easy but fun. Graphics arent much better then gta4 however was expecting bit more. But this game is about playtime and content not necessarily looking the beez neez. My 2c

I feel for u rs2000. I have been on this forum for a few years and posted very little due to fear of what your are receiving from members. My knowledge of rb is limited so I mainly read and never post absorbing info to better help me. In their defence u asked a question, received advice and then went the other way. U made ur original question redundant by ur turbo selection. Afterall it is the interwebs and if u cant take some banter this forum is probly not for u.

A few questions: 1: when u say $10k do u mean engine itself or supporting mods also? 2: building yourself will save heaps of $$$ but do u have experience? May need to budget for errors you will make. To put it in perspective I spent $20k on my rb25 motor (including labour) to make a safe 345rwkw @25psi not including supporting mods. Some estimated costs for consideration: Ecu $1500 Turbos $3k Rods/pistons $2k Dumps/mani $2k Oil pump $2k Injectors $1k Cams/valves/springs: $1500 Boost controller: $300 Total $13ish Prices based on your need for solid reliable parts. Obviously little things like head gasket, afm, braided lines etc not included nor fuel pump or machining costs. If just "street dragging" (ur words not mine) n daily duties trusted brands will be fine. CP/JE pistons, nitto/spool rods, 6 boost mani, jap brand exhaust, tomei/nitto oil pump, koya rad for stable temps. You kind of contradict yourself in that u budget $10k but want to pick parts well above the power range your hoping to achieve ie 1000hp rods. There will need to be sacrifices made. I average 200/300kms a tank depending on driving style. Technically I cam watch the fuel go down if extended thrashing is involved. Yes u can have high and low boost its called a boost controller, depending on tune will reflect fuel consumption, that said the motor is built an dthe difference will be minimal it is more how u drive the car then the differnce of 5psi between high and low. You need to provide more info of what the car already has. Hope u pull this off and good luck. Also with street dragging just dont end up round a pole or worse into another car.

Paint them pink or fluro colour seems to be the rage with wheels these days. Mayb u can start a trend on fluro brake callipers! But seriously paint them whatever colour u like, silver car could suit any colour. Bright will make it stand out from your black rims. Theres a diy in tutorial thread using metalcast paint. Gives them an anodised look. Plenty of pics also in that thread.

The 'air flow meter' it is the black plastic tubing before your k&n filter. With the wiring coming out. Easy to remove. Recommend searching for the diy on cleaning and soldering afm

Its the typical catch 22. We all know what the laws are and what is defectable and what isn't. My car is a rolling defect. WHEN i get defected i will cop it on the chin and clear it up. Whinging about defects to me is stupid as it is the consequence of our actions as skyline owners. Been defected many times and it wont be the last. You are foolish to think you will get away with modified cars on the roads these days. Especially in NSW. Also the amount of skyline owners who spend money on mods and this and that yet cant maintain the car to a roadworthy condition amazes me. "I spent $4k on my turbo setup" but cant afford new tyres or brake pads

Update: Engine - R33 Series 2: 152***km's. As mentioned bottom end seized. head seams to be fine would need rebuild. $200 whole lot. Splitfire Coil pack's Suit series 2 - $250 firm. (only used 3,000k's) working fine. Discovered they are series 1 JJR or Power enterprise coilpacks. Perfect working order. $100 Catch Can $200 firm China Wastegate 38mm. 11psi Spring - Held boost fine. Too small for new setup. $50 Z32 AFM - bought 2nd hand worked fine, includes plug for r33 - $100 Nistune Z32 ECU - Tuned for all mods listed so basic turbo FMIC, Fuel pump. - $500 neg R33 FMIC - comes with all piping to bolt on. $200 Bosch 044 used works fine - $50 Right lower control arm sold. Garrett T04E turbo - Bought of Krayzie32 on forum 2nd hand a few years back for $900. Had small boost leak, fixed with Turbosmart actuator. Will come with all lines, spacer plate, v-band dump pipe, intake will bolt onto standard manifold. Made 250rwkw on 20psi with the supporting mods in this add. great little upgrade on standard turbo. Whole kit - $400 Drivetrain - R33 gearbox - $500 firm. 4th to 5th synchro crunches under heavy load other than that shifts fine. Buy this refurb it and still be ahead on a 2nd hand box. Exedy Heavy duty clutch - seen better days but fully functional - $100 (will upload pics soon) Interior - Eboost 1: Not sure what these are worth will take $220 neg.
