OKay, so here are my photos! I went over them all and chose the best couple for each car that was out there. Imported, fiddled with, and resized to 16:9. If you want a different copy with your numberplate visible or a different aspect ratio/screen res, just PM me with your registration. The pictures below are downsized. If you go HERE, you should be able to download a full-sized copy. Enjoy!

That is a lie! I've only ever taken 1970 photo's as a budding photographer. I know all the basic principles, but am far from being sensei! I took 470 photo's that day, about 430 of them were of you guys on the track. I'm quite certain I got everyone. I imported them last night, and am just touching up/adjusting them. I'll try and get the best ones of each of your cars up tonight. If not, all of them will be up next weekend. I'm pretty busy of late! Sorry!

Just edit your own post dude! >.< you make internets for a living!!!!!

Restoring Your Headlights With Pictures
fastjetjockey replied to viet_boi's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Black.Magic, I do recall seeing someone posting up offering their services whereby you send them your headlights and they will do it all for you. Inside and out. It is a big pain to open up headlights, even more of a pain to seal them again. Have a search for it... I just received my GlassyLite kit in the mail. I bought it off ebay from the seller back2clear. He sends out a little flyer offering support for the product and emplores his customers to spread the results via word-of-mouth. You can search the aforementioned user name, email him at [email protected], or call him on 0417 726 048. The kits go for around $34.50, and he operates out of Beerwah. I'll let you guys know how I go with the sealant. GlassyLite on Ebay -
There have been some good suggestions already. I'd choose the civic for motorkhana type events, and the sil or 33 for track. But if you want another suggestion..... Peugeot 405 Mi16.

Restoring Your Headlights With Pictures

Just thought I'd share my results with the forums also. Took plenty of pictures for comparison, at all stages of the process. Here's what I used: 1500 and 2500 grit wet & dry, PlastX, fleece buffing pad on a power drill, a heatgun (to speed up drying ) and some masking tape. Here's what I did... Cleaned the headlight with some mild detergent-impregnated wipes, and masked the headlight surrounds as to not damage my paint from sanding. Close up of the poo on the lens... after cleaning. I then proceeded to sand the headlight with 1500 grit wet & dry. On the drivers side headlight I was a little hesitant. Don't be afraid to go to town on it though. Just don't sand a hole in your light lol. Sanding got rid of the top oxidised layer of polycarbonate, and a lot of the other imperfections and poo. The light is still wet here. Now the light's dry, and you can really see that it's sanded lol. Same level of sandedness, just a dry lens. I then stepped up to 2500 grit wet & dry. Started with some pressure, then eased off to more of a buff. Made super-sure I got the entire surface of the light. Lens is still wet. Scratches have gotten smaller from the 1500 -> 2500! Light is now dry, and ready for polishing. I then gave the light 3 runs with some PlastX and the fleece buffing pad on a power drill, on low speed and applying low pressure. In between sessions I wiped the residue and dry polish off with a damp cloth, then buffed it dry with another. Still some minor scratches as you can see. But you can only really notice it when up very close. I believe these can be fixed with some more abrasive polish, before using the PlastX. What I used... Such a fkn happy camper now. Makes the car look so much better! If I were to do it again. I'd add in a more abrasive polish before the PlastX, like ScratchX, to get rid of those small scratches at the end. Now, just waiting on some GlassyLite nanosealant to seal it with, so they will never go yellow again! The whole process took me around 2 lazy hours. Good luck everyone! -
Excellent news. You still have a car?

Craigslist, gumtree, realestate.com, ebay, flyers and facebook? All the things I'd do, or rather, what I can think of. Don't sell your car! Sell a kidney!

I'm still plugging away on Jubei, Alliance. I GM a small 10M guild (35 members) and we're hacking away in Firelands. Just a casual guild of e-friends; No drama! If you're after a change of pace, transfer I still enjoy the game, I only had time to play my SPriest while I was working away. Now that I'm back though, I'm having fun getting my Rogue to 85, and leveling a BoA Hunter. Playing through Red Dead Redemption ATM though.... So much fun lol.

^ hey bro, having too much oil can be just as bad as not having enough. Wipe your dipstick, then re-dip to take a reading. Make sure your car is on flat ground. Too much oil and your crank can start churning the oil, filling it with air bubbles. These will make their way to your pickup and your contacting surfaces will not be getting that constant feed that creates a protective film. 6 inches up your dipstick is not healthy if it's a skyline dipstick!

Touring Suspension Setup
fastjetjockey replied to CrimsonLey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
For street, and a lot of hillclimb and targa, a balanced spring-shock setup, with stiff antiroll bars is the way to go. Much better for handling bump-steer, and you get the comfort through the travel of a spring-shock setup. blind_elk is on the money. -
Tyre Wall Damage
fastjetjockey replied to TurboWood's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I bought tyres and drove them around whilst they contacted the guards over bumps, and with passengers, for a period of about 3 weeks. They were soft too, with a wear rating of 200. The guard kept taking rubber bands out of the sidewall right where it meets the tread, probably about 2-3mm also. I've been driving around for months since I rolled up the guard lip (including a 900km drive from Brisbane to Sydney on 110 the whole time), and it hasn't resulted in catastrophe. We'll se how it goes... Can you see any fabric at all? Post up a better pic. At the end of the day you need to make a decision. The rubber is there for a reason, especially in todays competitive market. Can you both afford and handle a blowout on the highway? If not, get a new tyre. -
Ooooh yeah! Been waiting for one of these to pop up. As soon as a date is given I'm down!

Camry Engine/box Reliability
fastjetjockey replied to Galois's topic in General Automotive Discussion
My folks had a '94 2.2L Auto. Was never thrashed and was kelt serviced by my old man who's a mechanic (auto trans) by trade. Two head gaskets over 2 years. Once with a rebuild. I sold it for them, blown, for $800. Hated that bloody thing. -
R34 Gtt Front Mount Intercooler Installation
fastjetjockey replied to V28VX37's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice write up. Timely too as it's something I'm going to be undertaking pretty soon, but with a Blitz CS Return Flow. -
I've got a decent camera to take piccies with mate (60D). I'll even come out for free if there's grub involved! Make it a daytime thing, and with my 18 Megapixels you'll be able to blow them up if you want. I'll dump them all onto a stick for you to transfer them to your home PC or take them into a shop. I'm located Inner-West, but am willing to drive. Drop me a PM and lemme know. I'm free most days - Freelance in Film and TV.

Your Next Mods For Your Skyline/import Is....
fastjetjockey replied to Silvia GTR's topic in Queensland
I'm unhappy with the level of security that I've put in place on my car. So, I need to get a decent alarm still, and install a kill switch on it. I currently use a club lock when I park in questionable locations, and have full comp insurance. I was thinking, do you think we could organise a group buy and installation for the SAU forums? The theft is rampant at the moment, and maybe providing some incentive to members is in order? I don't mind organising something like this, but I need suggestions on what shops to approach. If we get 10-20 cars, to be put in over a period of a few weeks, with money up front or something, I'm sure someone would be willing to do us a good deal. Another think you can do is remove your fuel pump fuse from your footwell before you vacate your vehicle. -
Purple 33 on Boundary Rd coming onto Progress Rd at about 2:45 this arvo. Sup!
