  1. True, that plumbed in 'gate was all a bit suss... open it up
  2. You're not going to get a half decent tyre for cheaper than KU's. The back track at DECA is very abrasive if you lock up. I've flatspotted RE55's there, and Dean in the S14 flat spotted his RE's on Saturday too. You just need to ease it on a bit more there, and give yourself more time to stop.
  3. I'll be there Russ. Greg is the S13 and Sam in the white Evo 6 from DECA are also entered.
  4. Big thanks to all the organizers and volunteers for putting on yet another great day. I didn't have a good run of it, I think the WD on the second cone of the first map destroyed a bit too much confidence, but the car is in one piece (bar a blown exhaust gasket) so I'm happy. Thanks again all
  5. I had one of those in my RX-7. The display wasn't working properly so a mate fiddled with it... along with my fuel mixtures. Car was a bucket of shit ever since then.
  6. What can I say, looks like Kate has good taste in cars! She's welcome to jump into the car whenever she wants mate. No she's not coming down, she's away with work. She's not quite ready for DECA just yet, but soon enough I'll show her the joys of it.
  7. Very true. My partner has a Clio Sport (wonder who's influence that was *cough*), and it's a cracking little car. Would be KILLER at Winton too, though shit boring at Sandown. I'm a big, big fan
  8. Good deal! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...-e-t332678.html
  9. It's actually champagne, third time lucky! Now that would be a sight! Would sound pretty cool out there I imagine...
  10. I never get above 40km/h baby, that's how I roll.
  11. We'll just have to reminisce for now
  12. I think an MX-5 would be your best bet overall, with the weight requirement, fun factor, and potential to move to a race series later on big plus points. Oh, and you get the wind in your hair Though an Autech S15 would be pretty cool if you could nab one cheap cheap... though unlikely from what I've seen.
  13. What did you get?
  14. Be interested to see how the Stoptechs go Troy. Did you grab them while the dollar was good?
  15. It's all a bit twilight zone!
  16. Hey Luke, try Race Brakes here in Melbourne. I had my brembo's (Nissan OEM, not 6 pots) rebuilt there so they may be able to get them for you. http://racebrakes.com.au/
  17. Hi all, Contemplating parting my car out if I get the right sort of offer for the engine and chassis. SR22DET Crower Billet Conrods Block and pressure tested Shot peened and re-sized rods Block decked Honed cam tunnels Clearance ground crank Rotating assembly balanced New ACL race bearings, gaskets etc Hotwash Crack tested and linished crank Darton Sleeves 90mm CP pistons Total seal rings Mazworx/Power Enterprise Headgasket Cryo-treated rocker arms Naprec heavy duty timing chain Powerbond Race SFi Harmonic Balancer Gti-R Oil pump – modified New Hydraulic Lifters ARC sump JUN 272 11.5 Step 2 cams JUN Valve springs 1mm inlet & .5mm exhaust Pep-pro oversize valves Tomei Rocker arm stoppers Trust Cam gears ARP Head studs ARP main studs Custom rocker cover with #6 fittings 9.1:1 compression New Gaskets etc This engine is currently being put together. Some of you may know that this engine has been built and running before. A failed oil pump caused damage on initial start up and damaged the cams and cam tunnel. The motor then completed 15 laps of Winton, was pulled apart because of a minor oil leak from one of the unused bolt holes in the GTi-R oil pump but was not decked properly and thus caused a leak of water into the oil and did damage to the bearings and crank. I then removed it from the care of those engine builders and have had it put back together with all new parts, inlcuding new cams, gaskets, bearings and a quality used crank. Machining by Blackwell Race Engine, and assembly being done by friends of mine, one of whom is an ex V8 Supercar engine builder. Inspection welcome. This is not a bitsa engine, and has cost me well over 17-18k to get to this stage, not including buying most parts twice. If you want an absolute torque monster with all the good bits without the hassle and expense of getting it built yourself (and believe me it can be a major hassle) then this may be for you. Price: 9k - can deliver interstate
  18. Might have to track one like that down then. I displike this one a lot, especially as now my seat is on the floor and the difference is massive.
  19. I have a generic type base rail with RPM side mounts in my passeneger seat, check the height difference out. That's without sliders too. BUT I didn't cut the middle out to drop it, don;t think I can with the width of the SPG-N.
  20. It may be mate! I think it was an FO, and I fit with just enough room though I'm 4 inches taller than you. That's with an SPA so much of a muchness. In the STi I have an FG and it is super low, so I'd actually suggest trying one of those out.
  21. JFK's car was pretty much that not long after he first got it wasn't it? Was really quick even then.
  22. Unfortunately you're not wrong...
  23. Skyline owners arguing with Skyline owners, while S-Chassis gets away scott free! *awaits smart arse remark about them not being worth arguing about etc*
