  1. Splitting the body part up into groups (such as chest, back, arms) works great if you're on the juice. From the best of my knowledge and a ton of anecdotal evidence, for natural guys, hitting the same muscle group more than once a week seems to give the best results in terms of "rep range strength" and muscle mass increases. This obviously means your volume will have to reduce, but if you work it right, you'll increase your intensity to take advantage of the increased frequency. It's been suggested (and this is further backed up by some studies, and lots of "real world" evidence) that hypertrophy and CNS stimulation only requires a certain amount of stimuli, to produce a certain amount of gainz brah. After that threshold has been reached, you're only tearing down muscle fibre and depleting stored muscle glycogen for no reason other than to feel "the burn", etc. (just to illustrate a point) Example. For your body to produce 20 grams of new muscle tissue in your chest, it requires only 3 sets (of a high enough intensity). Regardless of how many sets you do, your body can only produce a certain amount of new muscle tissue. Just because you did 6 sets, doesn't mean you'll grow 40 grams. Just because you did 9 sets, doesn't mean you'll grow 60 grams. See where I'm going with this? 'I really only want to gain strength, I'm not so concerned about size.' Yeah, well, the beauty about strength is that an increase in muscle cross sectional area can have a pretty profound effect on strength. You say you want to lose a bit of fat without looking skinny... I'd say find a program where you train each muscle group at least twice a week, with a lower individual daily volume, but the same/if not higher total weekly/monthly volume. Throw in some fasted cardio (conflicting evidence about whether or not it's more/less effective, but it doesn't hurt) on the off days, a tiny bit of carb cycling, and you'll be home and hosed. I'd recommend doing a google search on "DC Training"... they say it's for advanced dudes only (+3 years of heavy lifting) and juiced up bro's, but if you look at it closely, it actually resembles what a natural lifter requires really... really... really well. Unless of course you're on the juice. In which case, I'd still do DC Training. And up your Tren dosage to 500mg/week Hahaha.. awesome. Nah, but seriously, have a google of that DC Training and see what you think. I'm sure the other guys/gals here will also have some decent recommendations for you.
  2. Hope she recovers quickly! My grandmother (she's Polynesian) says aloe vera throat gargle (made from fresh leaves) helps to stop early signs of a cold/flu type infection. Been trying it out since early last week, once a day. Don't know if it's doing anything about being sick... but it sure does make my mouth feel interesting!
  3. Ah yeah, fair enough.. Well I guess it would be a bit much if it worked for absolutely everyone. I'd be asking questions then! At least you have a good gauge on what does/doesn't work for you.
  4. Hahahahahahahahaha... Oh damn that was good.
  5. Good to hear it's almost there! Speaking of audio... Want to be an awesome forum member and upload a sound clip/video!?
  6. Have you only had acupuncture that one time? Perhaps it was just that practitioner that may have done something a little 'off'... maybe try a different place and see how you go? To get a decent amount of Vitamin C (2000mg+ a day), you'd have to eat 20 oranges a day. A large one, about 3 1/2 inches across, only has around 100mg vitamin C. Chilli is awesome! Anti-oxidants are so good for you. Try getting a couple of smaller ones (they're the hotter ones), slicing them up really fine, and then combining with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. Drizzle on baked potato, grilled meats, roasted vegetables. Yum! If you can handle the heat, leave the seeds I don't believe in a lot of vaccinations. Call me a bit of a conspiracy theorist... but I've read so much and done a fair bit of research, that points to some hidden agendas with the way the world's controlling bodies operates. I've never had a flu shot. I rarely get sick.. and if I do, it's for a day or two before it goes. And it's hardly more than a runny nose and sore throat. Anyone tried supplementing with silver? Quite a few health benefits if the results from a Google search are anything to go by.
  7. Totally understood. Any turbo that makes that much power isn't exactly going to be a response monster. Haha, purry little kitten. Like it All in all, for what it is, I think it's a very impressive piece of kit.
  8. Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific. I was making the statement in regards to the graph that was posted on the previous page from what was in the post, looks like the graph was for a 2lt. Totally agree with your statement though, I think a 2.5 - 3lt would be more than happy to run this turbo. Just the whole ~150whp at 4.5Krpm on that graph leaves a bit to be desired on a 2lt. This is of course if it were being used as a street and weekend track racer. If it were pure circuit/drag, then obviously the lack of low down power/torque wouldn't really matter, as you'd be hard pressed to end up below 5.5 - 6Krpm + Awesome, I think I'll have a read regardless... seems like some good info. Thanks
  9. Sweet ! some rows are better than no rows
  10. How did the seated rows feel with the shoulders?
  11. God damn that is big! You could hide Mexican's in that thing Any idea what kind of pressure drop occurs across the cooler? Thanks and GLWS
  12. Not a problem.. They can definitely be annoying! Thanks anyway mate, GLWS
  13. Hahaha! Too true! You can make anything fast and powerful with enough cash
  14. I think once you start heavily porting something, the differences that were inherently there can almost be said to count for less/nothing. I see a lot of figures being thrown around for the neo head flowing 300+ cfm on the intake, however struggling to have a decent flow rate on the exhaust. I believe this problem is easier to overcome with the 26 head? Feel free to correct if I'm wrong All we can be sure of, is that no matter what head you have, you'll get decent results to a point. As Dave and Scott here have very well demonstrated.
  15. Whilst I think the media likes to jump on certain band wagons without much thought ("fats make you fat"), they're throwing out the baby with the water. Inherently, everything can be bad, provided the dose is sufficient. Water is required to sustain life... drink 10 litres in one go; just make sure to leave a note for the funeral. The issue with HFCS, is that it is a highly refined by-product. It's cheap to produce, as the chemicals used to derive the substance are also cheap. Because it is basically entirely pure refined fructose, your liver processes it quite differently, to say, fructose from an apple. This can lead to fatty liver disease. Now, in regards to "the dose is the poison" line of thinking, we can see some silver lining. Here in Australia, HFCS is not anywhere near as prevalent in the food industry due to our sweetening coming from more natural sources, and the fact that we don't have a corn-growing industry with a supply which FAR outweighs the demand. This is why in the USA for example, HFCS is in everything. And here in lies the problem for markets such as the US: By consuming excess amounts of HFCS, you have a greater chance of reaching toxic levels quicker. The off shoot to this, is that 1 gram of HFCS, is a hell of a lot worse than 1 gram of raw sugar. The threshold for what your body can handle is much lower with HFCS. So you can see why replacing 40 grams of sugar in a bottle of coke to 40+ grams of HFCS can lead to drastic problems. And, from what I have read and understand, unlike artificial sweeteners (which have a greater magnitude of perceived sweetness), HFCS has the same if not lower magnitude than regular sugar. So, aside from what the general consensus is, I still firmly believe that HFCS is a boat load worse than standard sugar. You see it every where in the food industry.. Soon as something starts becoming more refined and more refined... it steadily gets worse. Think olive oil. The difference in nutritional quality between refined and cold pressed extra virgin is surprisingly high! But, once again, it all comes down to how much is consumed. Personally, I freaking LOVE KFC chicken. Regardless of the fact that it's loaded with trans fat (which are clinically proven to be toxic to the human body), I know that by only having it every now and then, I can mitigate/lessen the effects it produces. The same can be said of those who consume HFCS. If you're interested in some reads, I'm pretty sure I've got some pages saved that I can share
  16. Great read Leesh, good to see you found it within you to keep going. Your progress pic shows the results of your determination.. good stuff! In regards to the statement about creatine... It's apparent effects are very closely tied in to how much muscle mass you're currently carrying. Keeping in mind that creatine doesn't affect subcutaneous water. So, the more muscle you already have, the more pronounced the effect of supplemented creatine will be. Water gain (muscle cell saturation) isn't always an effect of creatine use.. I'm a non-responder in that regard. However the relative strength increases seen with it are awesome. It's quite an 'individual' supplement.. It will definitely help you to reach your goals if you're comfortable using it. And it won't take away the 6 pack either Fantastic work, keep it up!
  17. Hmm, fair enough. I was always under the impression that the 26 head was able to flow more CFM than the 25 (neo or otherwise) head. Yeah, Dave's car is awesome. Kind of the Usain Bolt of the 25 head world, if you know what I mean. Hydraulic lifters can definitely be used to make big power.. there is no doubting that. Proof is in the pudding. But from what I understood, it was the maintaining/reliability that became the next issue? From doing a little bit of reading, it seems like the 26 head is still favoured due to port/runner/turn design and the shim/bucket setup... even though the neo head has solid lifters, apparently the shim/bucket setup is not as favourable as the 26 head. Any thoughts?
  18. Scott, have you thought about sourcing a RB26 head? I figure it'll suck a little bit to lose the VCT, but with properly dialled in cam gears + the better flowing head.. the net result will probably make you smile... You could probably run big injectors with ease too Just had a read on the MT Street Radial II's ... they look tasty... Also watched a video on MT Street's (to suit 15 inch rim) and how they actually wrinkle quite well for a street legal tyre.. amazing stuff
  19. It doesn't matter too much which you use, however it would probably be more 'additive' if you were to constantly use both grips, to achieve a similar yet different stimulus. By changing the grip, you illicit tension in a wider range of muscles to a greater degree, giving you more rounded off strength and development. Some people find it hard to do inverted rows, depending on their current strength levels. But there are a couple of ways to create 'progressions' in the exercise so you can progress and grow more steadily.. Usually by having your feet lower than your head (in the starting "hang" position") tends to be the best way.. Start with quite a margin, and constantly work your way through the progressions by lessening the distance that your feet are lower than your head.. until you're finally at the stage where your feet are inline with the bar/rings that you're holding. Let me find a video for you
  20. Interesting theory.. Although, I'd like to see how colder temps contribute to weakening the immune system.. I've not done any kind of reading on the topic yet
  21. Credit where it's due my man. Agreed, the black is fantastic. Goes well with the black drag wing. Those sedan lights look spectacular.. give it a true 'custom, but stock' look. Still enjoying the 6466? I may have missed it, but what tyres were you running in the latest vids? She seems to dig deep without much spin at all.
  22. Hey mate, Willing to post interstate? I have a friend who may be interested in these. Thanks in advance
  23. Hey mate, Can you please include what you mean by 'as a whole package'? Does this include all coil packs, loom, starter motor, etc. Or just sump to covers? Cold and hot side included too? Thanks in advance
  24. Hey mate, Just wanted clarification on something. In the top section of your ad write up, you have listed N1 turbochargers (in excellent condition) in addition to intake side, for what can be assumed as $5500, according to the title of your thread. However further down you have listed the price as $5500 without said turbochargers, and $6500 with. The Trust turbochargers don't interest me, but if the N1's are R34-spec, and for $5500, that would be a good buy. Keen to get some more info.. Thanks in advance.
