  1. Wanted a new computer wall paper, so went out for a quick shoot. They came out as intended so thought I'd post and share. Enjoy and I'm looking forward to more fantastic photos this month from the pro's as always.
  2. Thanks mate, just realised there is no October photo thread. I shall make one now?
  3. Part 8 - New MFD screen polarizing film. Although her MFD screen was still pretty good, the polarizing film had started to lift in the top and bottom corners, in turn causing a slight bit of distortion. Thought it would be best to tackle this before the problem got any worse, so a few weeks ago I ordered and applied a new polarizing film by following the instructions in this thread - http://www.skylinesa...on-display-lcd/ The hardest bit for me was cutting the film and getting it to sit on the LCD flat with no air bubbles or dust. This was just trial and error, got it pretty much spot on 4th time around. Definately recommend this as her MFD now looks brand new.
  4. Thanks mate, was a good night. And you have the cleanest R32 GTR I've seen by far.
  5. My new computer wallpaper. Turned out exactly as I wanted so thought I'd share in here. Oh, and I think vspec tacho's are pretty sexy too.
  6. Part 7 - Maintenance and keeping up the protective shine. So its been over 4 months since I first posted this thread and in my eyes, time for another refreshment application of wax. I like to add a refreshment application on my cars 3 times a year / every 4 months so we're right on schedule. Checking over the condition of her paint, it was still very passable so this time I just used Meguiars Colour X as a pre wax cleaner / polish and then went forward with another application of Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax. Application performed with my trusty DAS-6 Pro and Lake Country White Polishing pad / black Lake Country foam pad and microfibre towels for removal. She's now 100% swirl free and smooth as glass so we're both happy and she says thank you in the form of reflections. Spent some time today detailing her interior, and also installed new film on the MFD a few weeks ago so there are more updates to come shortly. Enjoy.
  7. More details mate, is there a thread for this?
  8. Hey mate, Thanks for the tip, however this GTR I want to keep looking original and have the colour match - etc perfect. Handy info though, cheers.
  9. You go there with intentions to purchase a GT and they try and sell you a VS2 Nur? Car sales men. The perfect car is the car thats for sale and the perfect buyer is anyone. Love it.
  10. Would be fantastic, however the potential costs associated with importing these models to AUS may surpass the actual value of the car. They would be a great starting point for a track car, as theres no way they will meet AUS standards for roadworthy.

    My New R35

The tips on your exhaust look absolutely fantastic.
  12. Didnt go through with this as the place I took it to were not confident that the paint would stick to the valley cover due to engine temperature. For my own understanding, will standard 2pac paint withstand the heat or is there another type of paint which needs to be used for this application?
  13. Glad you like the pics mate. I'm pretty new to photography and still learning, so appreciate the feedback guys. Just sent a few more shots through to you Marko, these ones are my favourites -
  14. Moving on with constructive conversation. Would be interesting to see some concept cars, text under picture in article says design may be similar to the 120Y, however this is just stipulation.
  15. ^ And I also bet you have to inflate it yourself upon entry.
  16. Beat me to it. Anyway, I'm still interested in learning about the safety features. Bet there will be a string so you can safely deploy your own air bag.
  17. I've used a combination of degreaser and hose, followed by autosol metal polish with a mothers powerball for above average results.
  18. Thanks mate, I just bought the Aerospace 303 from car care products.
  19. Stumbled across this, an interesting read. http://www.news.com.au/business/companies/for-sale-2014-datto-2900-call-nissan/story-fnda1bsz-1226486930607 "The absence of rigorous safety standards that would be applied to models aimed at the US or European markets will also help keep the price down" Love it.
  20. Sorry to hear mate. I have all my cars with Just Car Insurance. When I add mods I let them know and in some cases it raises my premium a little bit however it also increases the 'Agreed value' of my cars, so in effect - they are covered. Out of interest, I got a quote with NRMA when I was looking for insurance and for Premium they wanted 4x more $ then Just Car Insurance and would only insure my GTR for $31k max. However when signing up for Just Car Insurance , they straight away presented me with an agreed value of $53k and a fair premium. As its a write off, dont forget to cancel your rego and your green slip so you get the cash back. Note: You will need your number plates off the wreck for when you go in to RTA.
  21. Good point. Bit off topic, I've had friends get defected for their GTR having the stock front mount intercooler. Fills you with confidence doesnt it.
  22. ^ Further to the above, for Comprehensive (And im no expert so theres every chance I could be wrong). You could have the conversation with the insurer and advise them that you would like to purchase the wreck, however depending which insurer it is, they may just advise you it the vehicle is going to auction as per standard process and you are welcome to bid on it.
  23. Key piece of info, whats your insurance type? (Comprehensive or Third Party?) Without knowing this, not sure how helpful I'll be will be but anyway, if you have third party insurance there is obviously no 'agreed value' for your car. If the accident was not your fault and your car is a write off then the other parties insurance company will determine market value of your car and put forward this figure to you, as there is no current 'agreed value' for pay out. This may / may not work in your favour however can be reviewed if you provide info justifying the value of your car (Example from local sales of cars similar to yours - etc.) In the mean time, the car will also be assessed for salvage value by an external company. Once the pay out figure for the write off has been determined (and accepted), you will receive two cheques. One will be from the insurance company (minus the salvage value of the vehicle) and the other cheque will be from the salvage company. At this point, it is up to you if you accept the salvage offer, or keep the car as it is still your property. Again, this is just a high level summary of the 'Third Party' process.
