  1. I stand corrected, ya just drill 3 more holes apparently No need to weld em up. Red17
  2. I use APA because i get it cheap, but also because the Dynapack dyno is bloody good. If its good enough for Apexi and TRD, its good enough for me There is alot of variation in pricing within the industry though. Seems odd. Red17
  3. Apparently nissan only made about 80 genuine ones...i think. I believe the answer lies in the information page about the Sileighty in Gran Tursmo 1 & 2. Drift guys did it alot because the 180SX front end is worth a fortune, pop up headlights and all. Nearly bought a black Onevia... was a sweet looking car. Red17
  4. Were aware of the stud issues with the 180SX/S13. You basically weld up the holes and redrill the discs with 4x114.3 stud pattern, no biggy. Its a common cheap brake upgrade. So common in fact that the prices for 300ZX front brakes have gone pretty high over the past couple of years as demand has risen. Some people are charging as high as $950 for calipers alone! Red17
  5. Hi everyone, Just a quick question for those nissan know it all's. My brother has recently picked up a set of 300ZX brakes for his 180SX, which is a fairly common conversion. In the process we have noted that the alloy calipers off the 300ZX's (not sure what years because at one point they revert to iron calipers). are the same as mine on the R32. Now those of us who drive R32 GTSt's will testify to them stopping pretty decently. So im wondering are the rotors indeed the same size and specification as the 300ZX? If so, R32's have the benefit of having a set of brakes designed for a car 150kg's or so heavier. Anyone know otherwise? Red17
  6. I use Ivan at APA (ex Speedworks), he's recently got his dyno and it has some serious amount of accuracy and repeatability. I get full lambda graph printouts etc, AFR... all that crap And no wheelspin, you bolt the car up to the hubs! http://www.power-analysis.com.au/ I think the dyno is out at JRT in bentley at the moment for anyone who wants to enquire. I think the price is around the $60-70 mark. I've been getting mates rates so im not sure exactly Red17
  7. Id just like to say... what side indicators? I asked the compliance guy about them because my brothers 180 has dicky lookin indicators. I was told it wasnt on the paper works "to-do" list. Apparently 1992 32 GTSt's arent required to have them. Maybe its a state by state thing, i dunno? I figured ADR's were national. I figured the difference lay in the fact the 32 has indicators that are very much on the corner of the car (and they have a little hump specifically to enhance it), compared to cars like the 180SX and Silvia which are in the front bumper. Ive never been questioned over it, even registered the car myself. Red17
  8. I read this thread last night and it reminded me of my old pulsar which had the same problem. And then this morning I hop in the 32 and the damn thing starts squeaking as if on cue! Bizarre. Red17
  9. Always black? Alot of radiators in modern cars arent black at all, just raw aluminium. I know mine aint black, and every car ive owned wasnt black. They used to ALL be black because they made them out of copper which corroded if it wasnt painted. Ally solves that problem Red17
  10. 300ZX's apparently have a habit of doing heater cores. Big $$$ to fix... not in parts... just in sheer amount of labour to get to the damn thing. Whole dash needs to come out. Mates workshop recently did one and charged the guy nearly a grand in labour alone. Red17
  11. Its not on mine, ive got metal bits on either side that go around the corner of the window and then stop about an inch in. Then its just rubber. Hope this helps Red17
  12. I can testify to my brothers 180SX which runs an apexi N1, fat dump pipe and no cat. Goes like s.hit of a shiny shovel, but the drawbacks are A: no cat's are highly illegal and B: the noise shakes your car port apart when you come home and leave the turbo timer on. GTSt V-Spec: you know anyone in perth who does good dump pipes?
  13. davidpandev, Ok, if you say so. A little proof would be nice. Show me something like a timeslip and id be happy to admit defeat to the almighty attessa. But until then, ill stick to having 130kg's less thanks Red17
  14. The 32 GTS-4 weighs ALOT more than the 32 GTSt.... specs I have indicate the difference is as much as 130kg. Even if thats exaggerated and the difference is only 50kg.... its still alot. The GTS-4 might be alot rarer, but the GTSt is no doubt the quicker. Red17 PS: who cares whether a 32 or 33 is better, theyre all good!
  15. Wheels world are now operating jointly with Speedworks, you can find them opposite DMA in Carbon Ct, Osborne Park. Even if its only for advice on wheel selection, theyre worth seeing. Red17
  16. Just did a bit of research on those rims, they might be made in Russia, but they aint cheap: http://www.regamaster.com/Regamaster_Products01.htm Hmmm maybe i can find a cheap taiwanese knock off I do like the street racer style, not sure how theyd look on a gun grey 32. Red17
  17. Ken, What sort of rims are those?, me wanteeee. Red17
  18. Many seem to have problems with stalling and aftermarket bov's. Particularly on 33's it seems? Mine does it on occasion since installing a new bov. Doesnt bother me too much, once a week i can put up with. Perhaps boostmeister had more chronic issues. Many thanks for the tip though! Red17
  19. Ahh yes, i guess thats the problem, its the old racing rules they catch ya with. I figured the guy just wanted to get the best time possible. In that case, certainly, treating a set of R comps properly is no doubt ALOT better than street tyres. And youre right, the Nitto's are ridiculously priced Red17
  20. ARE do a full kit for the R32 GTSt and from all accounts their coolers are very good. The guy has done many hours R&D getting them right. Its $1178 for the cooler, or about $2100 for the whole kit. Im considering one of these myself at the moment, as is my brother. check out: www.are.com.au And i sincerely hope thats not a stock turbo you plan on running 20psi through..... can you say BANG? Red17
  21. The fenders are NOT the same. Not by a long shot. BNR = FAT (GTR only) HCR= Jenny Craig edition (GTSt GTS4... etc.) Red17
  22. Titanium? Surely it would be the most expensive FMIC in history Only semi automotive use for titanium ive found so far is sticking slices of it in kneesliders for nice sparks when getting ones knee down on a motorcycle Ive not seen many ally piping jobs on intercoolers before, im guessing its not too common due to expense rather than practicality. Red17
  23. PWR make good aftermarket radiators http://www.pwr.com.au/ ARE also make them, they also do some kick ass front mount intercooler kits http://www.are.com.au/ Red17
  24. Isnt this what surge tanks and return lines are for? Surely the pump isnt that sensitive. The bloke dispensing the advice isnt from the carby era is he? Ive never heard of this in any car, let alone a modern EFI motor. Red17
  25. Nitto's are one of the only drag specialised R comp that i know of. The others are made for track work, simple as that. Ideally if you want to get good drag times, get 2 cheap rims and a pair of fully slick tyres. R comps wont provide you with that much extra, compared to a pair of full slicks on the back. And the slicks would probably cost less than 4 R comps. I once saw a HSV ute with Potenza 540's on it down at the Motorplex, he was doing burnouts before each run, over heating the tyres and running the same times as he was on street tyres. They didnt last very long either. Red17
