Does the "Intercooler Spray Controller" come boxed?and can you see the different stages light up on a controller to show when it is on or not? -
Atomiser Spray Nozzles! I Found One Place Close.
Trust33 replied to Trust33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
On hot days at the track you notice that the engine wont let you boost 10+ psi for long periods of time at WOT. The first thing that i noticed with the spray ,was, that i could run 13 psi on the stock turbo without the engine knocklight coming on. It was on a hot day.so that gave me a good indication that it was working even though it was not the atomiser. The cooler was cool to touch.I was giving it some as well. The sprayer system could have done with a more high pressure pump to assist in it's spraying as well imo.The stocker is just under par when it comes to the pressure required to get good atomisation out of the nozzel. The whole reason that i diddnt reply to the thread that i started was because on the day of me fitting the sprayer to the bar at the track,i found out ,while pre testing, that the sprayer nozzel was blocked..I had a spare but had left it at home.It was working fine the day before. So on the day all i did was crimp the end of a hose and faced it down at and towards the intercooler from the mount i had origionally made up for the nozzel. It wasted water like all hell but somthing was better than nothing. Some of the things that you have to remember are that you "need" a decent brass atomiser sprayer nozzel with filter cartidge and male barbed adapter tail,so you can readily fit the hose on and off, and also a one way valve, just like the ones in your window washer lines so water wont just drip out while not in use,put in line between the pump and the sprayer..It would also be ideal to upgrade the pump.Somthing like the cheapo option that autospeed suggests be used "that is" the vt washer bottle pump.It has slightly more pressure than the nissan item.i know because i bought a second hand one ,it was trialed, but diddnt fit it because i wanted to use the stock bottle that its connected to it and diddnt buy it and i diddnt feel like hacking away at the stocker bottle to only use it a few times a year if you get my drift. But still this system will not produce massive atomisation mist.like the ones you see in the tecpro/autospeed pictures.if you want that then go out and buy a high pressure aftermarket pump.. The pumps for the washer bottles are gravity fed.Make sure u get the filter for the vt pump as well.Im pretty sure that they have them stock just check -
sorry i dont have any more gtr pics.this is the only pic i have of you going sideways. There are though a few short clips i have that i should get hosted.

The whole reasoning behind the vent was to avoid debri's flicking from the tyre directly at the oil cooler. This way it can vent the required air and keep any nasties from damaging it. I know that there are many people out there with the setup you are talking of and i havent heard of any probs with them cut.but seen it is my daily somthing is bound to find its way where it shouldnt. If you look at the opposite side behind the stock cooler,it has the same thing but is moulded into the plastic.

What he said.Dont drive a death trap. I have installed those bushes myself once b4.If the retaining nut, that locks the bolt in place,is tight, then that shouldnt have happened. My guess is that they put the bolt in there but diddnt tighten the retaining nut, with lock washer,up enuf therefore it has just worked it's way loose. Or maybee they forgot to put the lock washer on at all.Who knows. Death trap. Very, very dangerous stuff. thats just not right. P.S: Send them the pic as proof of bodgey!

Hey all. I had a great day down at wakefield park raceway on 24/1/07.It was myself, dad, cousin & dads mate.We were supposed to have another come allong but the impending rain threat turned him away from the day out. Had a few misshaps b4 starting the race day out. The the sprayer nozzel blocked up on me that morning when i put it on to test it.So i ended up just squishing the hose together at the tip faced it at the intercooler and sprayed it that way.It wasted water like you would not beleive and would not have been as efficeint at cooling the intercooler thats for sure. But the good thing was that even though it was a hot day,it was stopping detonation (ping) @ 13psi on the stock turbo.going hard all day long. Also id like to add that a stock 6.0L SS has torque of steel for a stock engine. The old man was walking away from me as i shifted into 3rd gear, while i was in 3rd gear, and so on.I was gaining on him in the twisting sections though it wasnt enuf to pass him.Plus he is a good driver. I met a few others from the SAU forums there that untill that day i didnt know. They were Andrew aka grippy (track spec r32 gts-t) and Reece aka turismo (bmw 318i) whose mate had a track spec r32 gtr. The best times for the day in my group were, Dad- 1:12.9 manual,SS 6.0l VZ commodore, stock allbeit bar bendix brake pads,(will check up on what they were),with potenza re040 street tyres. Me- 1:14.3 manual,r33gts-t,on rb74 pads and federal 595ss street tyres. Dads mate- 1:14.? auto, monaro CV8Z LS1,stock allbeit bar bendix pads and potenza re040 street tyres. Cousin- Was the official timer/picture taker .lol.he needs to have a few more things done to his car before it is track worthy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Grippy was slightly quicker than the old man though cousin didnt time him grrr.I beleive he was in the 1:11.0 - 1:10.0 region on semi's. Reeces mate,in the gtr,was pulling 1:10:?'s on potenza semi's. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All cars were getting extreemely hot though.Lucky for me i took the precautions of all those new cooling mods. We had 20 min intervals in between sessions of street & race cars to come out so it did give the cars a bit of time to cool down. My R33 Gts-t All in all the brakes were working well, though i did have do really dip into them, and at times thought they were a bit spongy.Which could have been the stock brake lines (flexing) or stock rotors (not letting enuf gasses out). There was a slight hesitation coming onto boost into 3rd gear.Im blameing the coil packs .The tyres were performing very well i thought, just had to check that the tyre pressure was up to scratch on all 4 corners each time i came in and they treated me nicely each time i went out,and had them up to temp.. Thanks for reading, pics to follow. Craig.

this is the final cut out still needing trimming and a small part added on. From the engine. looking in from the outside. Imo i took it for a run today in the hot hot midday sun/traffic.every destination i went to i had a feel, lol,of the stainless lid and it was warm to touch.Nowhere near as hot as it was before ie:engine bay hot.Which was hot enuf to fry an egg. I am pleased with the way it performed. It is a definent bang for buck cheapo mod. I want to add also that no inlet or intercooler pipe/s were removed in the making or installation of the partion.
