  1. Hi guys, These chinese whispers are true... I was always expecting that I will need to attend to the 'weak point' of the car but no sooner than 6 months (I was hoping this anyway) Cause? could be a no. of things: - bad batch of fuel - overheating due to lack of capacity of standard radiator - blocked injector etc.... I was quite lucky to catch this out in its infancy, the compression dropped in cylinder 6 down to 79, othe 5 cylinders were reading a consistant 140+. As the engine is undergoing a total recondition with forged pistons, billet con rods, honing of cylinder bores, crank balance etc...my mechanic will be testing the other items for malfunction. I can't wait to have it run-in once again Marko.
  2. if anyone is in need of any parts i have here pls pls make me an offer marko
  3. it seems that i did well with my 91 gtr @ $364 in that case
  4. no need for this negativity... its sad that some of these informational threads people like reading such as myself turn into sour lemons :boohoo:
  5. whatever you believe is your choice... what i write is from a professional that has been tuning gtrs for 15 yrs & is involved with international & national events, perhaps you should speak to crd if you have any further q's i listen to experts & then relay feedback, how you choose to take this is entirely up to you... marko.
  6. Hi guys, BU5TER: its not 'a load of crap' that you lose up to 70kw from awd to rwd when a car is producing over 350awkw! as Oz GTR02V added - with 300awkw you will lose 50kw from awd to rwd formula for this: the more power you make the more you will lose in the driveline, it is relative. this is a fact guys!!! i tend to take side with jim @ crd on this. Marko.
  7. where else can i fetch a better price in that case?
  8. cams yes i have these - did not make a 'big' difference in peak power but more so in torque (100Nm) pods yes i have these - would not make a 'big' difference in power though what i am getting at is that the cams & pods cannot make the additional 120rwkw+ power difference
  9. 301rwkw by UAS??? CRD achieved 362awkw with my car - same turbo's & in fact similar setup. as a comparison, this equates to 422rwkw!!! ...hmmm maybe i have a "freak" engine (yeah right) Marko.
  10. just got a quote for $364 via AAMI - i am currently insured with Just Cars, AAMI is a subsidiary of Just Cars hence the reason why they are cheapest! its still a saving of $100! better in my back pocket
  11. is this 301awkw?
  12. Deciding who to employ for tuning after spending $$$ on an engine setup can be stressful & daunting, I know i've been there! ...it is easy to lose trust & confidence in mechanics/tuners especially after being stung a no. of times. Only "you" would know the difference in performance after Jim's tune @ CRD.:bananaman Enjoy your car & tune! Marko.
  13. congrats on your results mate! this is the gt-ss setup right? 1 question: if im not not mistaken...i remember you originally had the car tuned by UAS, it is now tuned by CRD - why the change? pls correct me if im wrong regards, marko.
  14. hi "raz0r$harP" what company are you paying only $280??? fyi - it was GIO that quoted me $459... ill try the maa calculator as also suggested marko.
  15. Hi guys, I just received a renewal notice for my r32 gtr - compulsory 3rd party insurance @ $459... Is there any other companies out there that offer a better rate? i am the youngest driver @ 28yrs old. regards, Marko.
  16. i was in a position to buy either the hks dumps or the trust long dumps as i was also upgrading the exhaust... i was informed that the long wastegate pipe on the trust systems create more lag, now i dont know how true this is although i was told by a dyno tuner that works on a lot of gtr's i bought the x-force (hks copies) for only $450 for the pair via crd in sydney. pls don't take as gospel
  17. hi supergimp (dan), this is because the gt-rs has a rating of 400ps whereas the gt-ss has a rating of 280ps... you must respect the gt-rs...they rock as you would know mate!
  18. i don't particulerly like recommending other parties as i understand the complications in doing this BUT i will add that CRD is the most reputable & experienced skyline tuner in nsw - possibly aust! what u should do is take a drive & drop into all these specialists then drop into CRD as your last visit - all you need to do is count the number of skylines jim has in his yard & workshop...all these owners are prepared to wait for his service, why??? don't make the same mistake as i did - cheaper is not better!!! marko.
  19. guys, Jim will be fitting a 'custom crd' catch can to my setup next week as he recommends this item when running anything over 300awkw. marko.
  20. ive been advised the gtrs's will run up to 30psi  but i love my gearbox & bottom end too much (engine that is) :looney:
  21. hehe...maybe i shall run 25psi myself just to lift the bar a little higher 380awkw+ i can then look at NOS to add icing
  22. what boost is it running now out of interest? 23psi?
  23. thats interesting, the difference in top end kw between the 2 setups is 77awkw (approx. 127rwkw)
  24. Paul, Jim gave me similar guidelines as I also asked the same question when he was tuning my car. Regards, Marko
  25. I tend to agree with you on that statement Chris, 'bling factor' can soak kw! LOL
